Chapter 22 She Flirted With The Wrong Man

At the Jefferson Mansion.

A black car was driven straight to the Mansion and then stopped steadily at the gate.

The woman getting off the car had an eye-catching slender legs, a waist that so slim that it seemed one arm could wrap it around, and a delicate and pretty face that was only the size of a palm.

And the beauty spot under one of her eye especially made her look charming and flirtatious.

Alan went forward to greet her respectfully, "Miss Angelina, welcome back."

Angelina asked with a smile, "Uncle Alan, is Grandpa up yet?"

"Yes, he got up half an hour earlier than before this morning after knowing you're coming."

"Really? I'm going to see Grandpa."

After entering the house, Angelina saw her grandfather, Abraham, sitting on a recliner for a rest with his eyes being closed.

There was still an unfinished chess game at hand, and it was not clear whether the black or the white would be the winner.

Angelina relaxed her movements and obediently sat opposite to Abraham.

"Stop moving the chess!" Abraham stopped Angelina in a loud voice.

Abraham sat up slowly, then pulled Angelina's hand away, and said, "I don't want to play chess with you."

Angelina ignored his words at all, and instead said coquettishly, "Grandpa, isn't it that you put the chess here and wait for your granddaughter to come back and play it with you?"

Abraham snorted, "So you are back just to play chess? It's totally clear that you have come to some agreement with the Fuller family, and you are here to make me frustrated."

"Grandpa, a couple that is forced to get married will definitely be unhappy. Besides, I want to accompany you for much more years, so I don't want to get married."

"Nonsense!" Abraham immediately retorted angrily, "If you don't get engaged or married, no one will pick up your body in time after you die at home!"

Angelina showed a sweet smile and replied, "Grandpa, that's wrong. After a person die, there's no need for him to be afraid that no one will pick up his body."

Abraham was speechless after hearing her words.

Angelina quickly took a white chess piece, put it on the chess board, and said, "Let's play chess, Grandpa."

Abraham sighed helplessly, "I know you have always been thoughtful since you were a child. I'm old now, so I can't ask you to listen to me anymore."

Even so, he still couldn't resist playing chess with Angelina.

Alan happened to bring some fruit over and couldn't help but say, "Miss Angelina, you may not know what your grandfather said yesterday. He said if you really don't want the engagement, it can be cancelled, because he don't want you to feel wronged." This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.

Angelina put down the white chess piece and nodded with a smile, "Grandpa just always scares me, but actually he loves me the most."

Angelina kept yawning before finishing the chess game.

Abraham took a look at her and then took all of the white chess pieces next to her hand to his side, saying, "The people of the Fuller family will arrive. Don't let them see your sleepy look. It's impolite."

"Let's finish this game. I'm going to win."

Abraham snorted, "I don't want to go on the game."

Angelina couldn't help laughing, because she knew her grandfather wanted her to have a rest and just used the Fuller family as an excuse.

The maids in the Mansion cleaned Angelina's room every day whether she came back or not, so she really had a good rest.

She didn't wake up until the guests came.

Henry had two sons, Herman, Ishmael's father, and Keith.

Herman's mother died of dystocia when giving birth to Herman, and Henry remarried years later.

Then Henry died unexpectedly, and the property of the Fuller family was handed over to Herman to take charge. While Keith went to live abroad with his mother.

Therefore, although Keith was Ishmael's uncle, they were similar in age.

Herman bowed slightly to Abraham and said, "I've wanted to visit you for a long time, but I haven't had a suitable opportunity. Knowing that you are in such good health, I feel very happy."

Abraham showed a kind smile, but his eyes alighted on Keith who was next to Herman.

Abraham once met the second wife of Henry, his comrade-in-arms, and Keith, but Keith was a child at that time. Abraham didn't expect that Keith had been an influential business giant with such an extraordinary bearing.

Abraham asked, "You are Keith, right? I haven't seen you for many years, and you've been a man in a blink of an eye."

Keith responded in a deep voice, "Yes, I haven't seen you for many years."

Abranham asked, "Is your mother okay?"

"Very good. These are some antiques that my mother asked me to bring to you. She said that if she had the opportunity, she would like to play chess with you again."

Abraham smiled heartily, "I'm not good at playing chess now. I'm not even comparable to my granddaughter."

Abraham raised his chin lightly, motioning for Keith to see the chess board on the table.

"Have a look. Angie set a trap every time she made her move. I am alread old and can't compare to the young."

Keith gazed at the chess board with a shallow smile.

The white had a great chance of winning, but the black had not reached the point where it would absolutely lose.

Keith knew Abraham said that to praise his granddaughter.

After all, it was the Fuller family who first asked to withdraw the engagement. Abraham just didn't want his granddaughter to be underestimated by others.

Keith responded in a low voice, "Miss Jefferson is indeed smart and intelligent."

Upon hearing that, Abraham was somewhat stunned and then asked, "You know her?"

Keith thought he did not only know her.

There were even some inexplicable and unclear implications between them.

Keith responded gently in a deep voice, "Our Group recently invested in a movie, and Miss Jefferson happened to get the female lead in the movie."

Hearing that Keith and Angelina hadn't met in person, Abraham breathed a sigh of relief and said, "I didn't want her to be in the entertainment business. But noticing that she likes it very much, I just let her go."

Ishmael arrived late and apologized, "Sorry, I'm late. I just answered a phone call outside."

Kristin glanced at Ishmael with some dissatisfaction and said, "How come you didn't answer the phone later? Hurry to say hello to you Grandpa Abe."

Abraham waved his hand and said, "It's okay."

Then he added with a smile, "Have a seat. Let's taste the tea I just made."

Herman praised slowly, "The tea made by Uncle Abraham is totally superb. Even if someone gets this high-quality tea, it's hard to have such a good tea making skill as Uncle Abraham."

Ishmael echoed, "Grandpa Abe, my dad told me many times that you are good at making tea. He has always wanted to taste it again since he drank it several times years ago."

Although Abraham had a smile on his face, he looked at Ishmael with some scrutiny.

Abraham kept observing to see if Ishmael was worthy of Angelina.

"You guys, stop making fun of me. You haven't tasted it yet."

Abraham bantered, making everyone present laugh.

"Uncle Abraham, you are too modest."

Abraham just smiled and then had a look at Alan who was standing by.

Alan understood the meaning behind the look and silently went upstairs to ask Angelina to get downstairs.

Angelina had been sleeping for almost two hours and hadn't woken up yet.

When the maid woke her up, she was still a bit sleepy, asking, "What's wrong?"

Alan stood outside the door and said, "Miss Angelina, the people of the Fuller family have arrived. Your grandfather asked you to go to meet them after dressing up."
