Love's Rebirth Another Chance at Forever (Madeline and Andrew)

Love’ss 112

Andrew felt the need to stay firm at the thought of the blood clots in Madelyn's brain.

Madelyn obediently nodded.

Andrew breathed a sigh of relief at her response. They couldn't afford to let their guard down since the blood clots were in the brain.

Derrick's prescriptions were notoriously known for their bitterness. Madelyn found it tough to swallow the pills even after the prescriptions were adjusted. This only made her more reluctant to take it.

Andrew had no choice but to let her be.

Madelyn felt a pang of guilt seeing how protective he was. She stopped the maid from taking the pills away and asked them to return them. "I'd better take it. Maybe the pills really do help."

The maid respectfully set the plate of pills down. Just as Madelyn was about to reach for them, Andrew grabbed her wrist with one hand and took the plate with the other.

Madelyn was puzzled. She had finally mustered the courage to swallow the pills, after all. "What are you doing?"

Frowning, Andrew forcibly took the plate from her. He couldn't bear it for Madelyn to suffer. "If you don't want to take it, then don't. I'll think of another way."

Madelyn was stunned. Seeing the look in his eyes filled with pain and guilt, she understood he had been worried about her health since that day.

He didn't want her to suffer, and she didn't want him to be upset, either.

"I want to live well." Madelyn picked up the pills and downed them all one in one go before Andrew could

react.

She almost retched from the bitterness, but she braced herself to swallow it all.

Andrew stuffed a piece of candy into her mouth when she set the glass of water down. But even so, the sweetness did nothing to alleviate the bitterness. He held her silently. Noticing his low spirits, Madelyn hugged his neck, still tasting the candy. "I'll live a long life if I eat my pills. Isn't that great?"

Andrew grabbed her hands and kissed her lips, tasting the bitter residue. He pressed his forehead to hers and said nothing.

Madelyn grew anxious the longer his silence went on. Her words carried a hint of desperation as she chattered, "Maybe this is my punishment from the heavens." "Shut up!" He silenced her with a fierce kiss and stopped her from saying another word.Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

Madelyn closed her eyes and responded to the kiss, the bitter taste spreading between them. Only when Madelyn struggled to breathe did Andrew release her. With their foreheads still touching, he said, "You'll have to take this medicine for a long time. Shall we go for surgery instead?"

Madelyn shook her head. "No surgery. I can take the pills!"

She paled at the thought of surgery. If the illness was her punishment, she would accept it. Chapter 112

Andrew hugged her tighter seeing her firm resolve, as if trying to fuse her into his bones.

Madelyn ate all her food at dinner. She had never had a great appetite, but Derrick reminded her to pay attention to her nutrient intake. She shouldn't be a picky eater from now on. Andrew noticed her change in attitude. She used to dislike broccoli, but she ate quite a lot tonight.

When Madelyn reached for more broccoli, Andrew frowned. "You never liked this before!" Broccoli was his favorite instead.

Madelyn explained, "Broccoli has a lot of nutrients."

"Have you been researching about this at a time like this?" Andrew sounded puzzled.

"Of course. It benefits me and will be great baby food when we have a baby."

The room fell silent. Madelyn felt a suffocating sensation she had never experienced before. When had she started the habit of reading childcare books for an hour every day? Andrew gently uttered when he sensed her low spirits, Maddie, I want you to be alive more than I want to have a child."

Madelyn nodded without saying a word.
