"What's the matter? Linda asked as she discreetly started her phone's recording function.
Her intuition told her that this would be an interesting situation. It would be a missed opportunity not to record it. Having evidence would be useful in case Johnny later tried to shift the blame onto her. "I have something I'd like to discuss with you in person, Ms. Felix."
"Oh?" Linda said with a smile, "What could be so important that the head of procurement needs to discuss it with me personally?"
"Please come in and take a seat." She gestured to the chair in front of her.
Johnny sat down nervously.
"Ms. Felix, didn't you say you could offset past mistakes with good deeds?
It seemed this was going to be a significant opportunity.
"Yes. Is there some secret you want to share with me?"
Linda maintained her smile, though it held a hint of something that Johnny couldn't quite decipher.
"I have evidence of my uncle's tax evasion. If you're willing to give me a chance to continue working for you, I'm willing to provide the evidence.
"Actually, I know you have already received many reports about me.
"The procurement department's profits are well-known.
It seemed Linda's suspicion was correct. Johnny was here to secure his position.
"Mr. Depth, you need to show me your sincerity before can give you a chance.
"Also, I'm aware of many things already. The evidence you have might not interest me."
Johnny was aware. "I guarantee this evidence is something you don't have
"And what guarantees do you have?"
Linda's tone remained gentle as she said, "Mr. Depth, I also have evidence related to you."
Johnny's expression changed. "Ms. Felix, what do you mean?"
"Literally what I said," Linda replied, pulling a document from her drawer and pushing it toward-him,
"After you read this, you'll understand."
Linda was patient, waiting for Johnny to finish reading.
The more Johnny read, the more nervous he became.
"Have you finished reading it?"
"Ms. Felix, what do you want me b do?" Johnny had entered the office with confidence, but it was clear that Linda wasn't easily swayed. "I'm not one to pursue a vendetta."
"Ms. Felix, I'm willing to serve you loyally," Johnny quickly declared his loyalty.
"Please leave for now, I will consider what you've said.
Once Johnny left, Linda turned off the recording.
At 8:30 PM, Linda left Felix Group.
She was planning to drive back to the Lynch residence, where she had been staying recently.
As soon as she started her car, she noticed a Honda following her.
Linda drove slowly, almost as if she were deliberately allowing the driver behind to keep up. Even a Ferrari couldn't be outrun by a Honda that was running at full throttle.
The driver behind seemed unaware that Linda was onto him, thinking he was well-hidden.
At an intersection less than five minutes from the Lynch residence, Linda stopped her car.
