A Deal With The Millionaire

Chapter 34

Shane wouldn’t look away as he kept on staring at Layla who also stared at him. ” You should look away to avoid suspicion ” Alec said silently as he tapped Shane.

He was about doing that until he realized Layla had look away and was headed to the counter together with Mirah.

” Oh, seems she looked away first ” Alec uttered and looked at Shane trying to study his expression.

He caught a glimpse of a hurt look on his face and he let out a silent sigh. Shane looked away, biting his lower lips. That again is a verification that she’s angry at him. She looked away first.

” Are you okay? ” Alec asked but Shane let out a sigh instead. ” I think she’s really mad at me. She looked away and even walked away, totally ignoring me ” He explained sipping from the cup in front of him.

” And you’re worried? ” Alec knowingly asked the dumbest question ever. Shane let out a scoff. ” Come on, I’m not in the mood for that ” Shane muttered and Alec let out a huff before looking away from him and sipping his coffee quietly.

” Would you two like anything else? ” Layla’s voice made them raise their hands. Mr Cyrus had forced her to come over to them to ask if they would need any other thing.

” No, we’re fine ” Alec muttered while Shane kept on staring. ” Great then. I shall take my leave ” Layla said and without giving her enough chance to turn, Shane held her hand making her look at him with a confused look on.

Layla looked around to see if anyone was staring at then and fortunately, the workers seemed busy with their works and it seemed Shane’s fans hadn’t trooped it. Only their normal customers were in already.

Shane got up on his feet and grabbed her deeper into the coffee shop, in an empty room there and Layla didn’t struggle with him.

They got there and Shane locked the door behind them. He turned fully to Layla who had a confused look on with her brows raised. ” Did I do a thing wrong? ” Layla asked and Shane let out an unbelievable scoff. ” I should be asking you that instead. Why are you ignoring me? ” Shane asked and this time Layla’s brows raised the more.

” How am I ignoring you?, I don’t think I have ever did that? ” Layla asked confusedly. ” You saw my calls didn’t you? ” Shane asked, roughing his hair. He was beginning to regret confronting her for such a useless thing like this.

” No, Yes. I actually missed it and I did see your missed call but decided against calling. I thought it wasn’t really something that important. I’m sorry for annoying you. So is it something that important? ” She asked, looking straight into Shane’s eyes.

Shane let out a nervous cough cause of her stares on him and he looked away. ” No it’s not. I actually got the wrong idea. I’m sorry ” He apologized and Layla let out a little smile.

” Alright then. It’s fine sire ” Layla said politely and Shane groaned inwardly. That alone is making him go crazy, why would she start showing him signs of respect? She wasn’t like that before. Something is definitely wrong but he can’t seem to lay his hands on it and that alone is frustrating.

” Is there really a thing I did that you’re not telling me? ” Shane was tempted to ask, stopping Layla from going out.

She turned to Shane with a raised brow. ” No, why would you keep thinking you did a thing wrong? ” She asked confusedly. Shane let out a sigh. ” You don’t get it, do you? This isn’t you, you’re acting all weird now. It’s like you’re trying to forget about the past, like you moving on and ignoring the fact that you once knew me ” He explained shocking the hell out of Layla but she tried her best not to show it.

” I’m sorry but it’s what is right. You have a wife now, I was never a thing to you to begin with. We were acting on a contract all through and I was just your replacement bride. And now that the contract has ended, everything should go back to normal. As per the contract, we aren’t supposed to meet anymore, I’m trying to stick to that. I also don’t think that should be a problem to you right? ” Layla asked knowingly.

Shane sighed and then looked away. ” I will take that as a yes then ” Layla said with a light smile. Without much ado, she walked out of the room leaving alone a frustrated Shane. He was really worried and that alone is making him more frustrated.

He shouldn’t be worried cause of this but it’s the total opposite right now.

Shane finally walked out of the room and headed to his seat. He sat down with his face downwards. ” Are you okay? ” Alec was obliged to ask. He let out a heave and raised his head.

” No, I really think I’m going crazy at this point ” He said truthfully, frustration glaring on his face. ” What is it? ” Alec asked slowly and with a silent voice.

Shane sighed, resting his back by the chair. ” I can’t seem to get her out of my head ” He blurted out making Alec’s brows raise abruptly. ” Brielle or Layla? ” He asked knowingly, he’s well aware that Shane’s talking about Layla but he wants him to spill it out himself.

” Yeah. Layla. I think I’m really going crazy at right now, everything’s just frustrating and confusing ” Shane muttered. ” Don’t you think you feel a thing for her? ” Alec asked but Shane shook his head.

” No, I’m just confused and that’s all ” Shane muttered and Alec let out a scoff silently. ” Suit yourself up then ‘ He said to Shane’s hearing.

Shane placed his head on the table while Alec rolled his eyes secretly. He’s well aware that Shane feels a thing for Layla but he wouldn’t admit it. ” Don’t you think we should leave now?, You can go sort yourself at home ” Alec asked but Shane shook his head.

” No. I’m fine, I’m not ready to leave ” He muffled under his breath but Alec could hear him clearly. ” You sure you’re okay? ” Alec asked again and Shane nodded, his head still on the table.

Alec sighed before taking his cup on the table and sipping his coffee from it.

Layla would steal glances from Shane at several intervals. She was really worried, ” Is he okay? Is everything fine? ” She would ask herself at several intervals. She had an obvious sad look on that one would definitely notice. She tried her best to hide it but it’s really glaring. Only if Shane could notice, but he really fell for her cover expression.

No matter how much she tried to forget about Shane and move on, she can’t just do it. It seems really difficult, she has grown so addicted to him even without knowing. She wished silently she could continue seeing his perfect face.

Tho, his face was lowered on the table but she’s glad she can still see his presence. His presence alone is okay for her. She’s still sad knowing that he might leave anytime soon but she hid it perfectly and served other guests casually.

She would purposely go to their table just to ask if they need a thing. But the truth is she just wanted to see Shane’s face so badly. Shane would look up whenever he heard Layla’s voice and he would stare at her for so long till she’s out of his view.

Layla would secretly ensure that she catches a glimpse of his face while speaking to them.

” And that’s all? ” Layla asked and Alec nodded with a smile. ” Ok then, I’ll be right back ” Layla said and after successfully stealing a glance from Shane, she begin to walk away.

” It’s obvious she’s trying to get your attention ” Alec suddenly said with a chuckle. Shane looked up abruptly with a raised brow. ” Huh? ” Shane asked confusedly.

” It’s been 4 times since she’s been coming here, that alone is a proof. She keeps stealing glances at you and she has this worried look on whenever she looks at you ” He explained to Shane who has a suprised and at the same time confused look on.

” But she said… ”

” She’s only trying to fight her feelings. She knows it ain’t right if she feels that way for you, and that’s why she’s trying to avoid it ” Alec explained to Shane who still has a suprised look on.

” So?… ”Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!

” First admit that you feel a thing for her and then, you can find ways to make her admit her feelings too.. ” Alec blurted out
