A Gamma's Revenge (Zalia)

Chapter 401

Maleah's p.o.V.

"Nice try, Mister. Screw up and I will make you regret it." I teasingly growl at him.

"Dominic, you have to initiate her into the Pack. I want her to be able to link us if that is necessary and right now she has no access to the Pack mind-link." Mack says but he doesn't take his eyes of me and when Dominic tells him I have to get out of his lap Commander releases a roar, not a loud one but enough to make everyone understand that he isn't pleased with his remark.

Mack allows me to stand up but that is about it, his hands are on my hips as he guides me towards Dominic and I realize all three Alphas need to be part of the initiation. The small ceremony doesn't faze me but I am glad when it is done with, Dad is the first one to link me and I look over my shoulder to smile at him.

"This is a lot easier. No more walking up the stairs to get you." Dad says teasingly, but I see his smile fall when something sinks in.

I will not be living with him for much longer, I will move into the Pack-house to live with Mack and then it will just be my Dad in our house. Suddenly Dad gets a smile on his face and I wonder what he is thinking about, but Dominic asks me to explain why I chose to become the Angel of Death.

"Dominic, I do not agree with the name the public has given me. I kill in the name of justice, they should call me the Angel of Justice if they are so hell bent on giving me a name." I state.

"Every assignment I accept has a target who has been brought to the attention of the Council of Elders, but somehow the charges never stick and I am their last hope to get justice. Dax told me that two Elders paid you a visit last night, but I happen to know that each of you has a rock solid alibi.

I wouldn't have taken action otherwise, I wouldn't want any of you to get in trouble for that murder and I made sure I wasn't anywhere near him according to the hotel's system.

Pauline pointed out to me that all our Pack-members would have an alibi if I did it last night, but I had to make sure no one would suspect me and my Mother and Alpha Bradley were kind enough to lend me a hand." I say before I tell them what happened during dinner, explain to them why I went to stay at another hotel and Mack has his nose buried in my neck.

"Okay, I need you to change the subject. I am going to make some coffee and get a few snacks." Elyse says and I take the chance to ask Dax why my Mother made the Elders look into my whereabouts, by the time he is finished talking I am confused.

"She knew I was in another hotel, everyone in the restaurant heard the manager and they watched me leave the hotel. Why did..." I am too angry to finish my question and Mack pulls me closer to his chest.

His hands move up and down my back and I focus on his heartbeat to get my mind of my Mother, I need to think about something else. I picture the office from when I walked in and I remember seeing just one desk, but there are three Alphas.

Two chairs in front of the desk for visitors, a bookshelf behind the desk with three pictures standing in the largest square in the bookshelf and a statue of three running wolves. A gift gave to Elyse after I purchased my second boutique, I told her it reminded me of her Sons?

Mack calling my name pulls me from my thoughts and when I look around me I see that everyone is looking at me, "I could tell that you and Fortune were agitated, but somehow you managed to calm yourself down. How did you do that?" Mack asks.

"Thinking about my Mother and her motives is always enough to rattle my cage and years ago I discovered

that if I thought about ingin

whatever was bothering med just pictured this office from when I walked in and I wonder if Elyse knows that her Sons stole her gift." I explain to Mack and I hear Dominic mutter Fuck as I see him stepping to his left, blocking everyone's view of the statue.

"I gave it to your Mother and I doubt she gave it to the three of you. It was a few months after you had gotten back from your training with the Council of Elders, the three of you were running through the forest.

The three of you were so close in speed, it was amazing to see and the statue reminded me of it. I told your Mother why I bought it for her and to this day I have never seen a triplet that is this well matched." I tell them and Dominic takes the statue from its place to hand it to Elyse, who takes it from him with a smile on her face.

Dad hands me my coffee as Elyse scolds her Sons for taking the statue from her office, all three of them apologizing but it doesn't sound to me that they are really sorry and something tells me that Elyse is very aware of that fact.

I enjoy my coffee as I listen to Max telling his Sons that they are Alphas and should set a good example, but I doubt they are really listening to their Father.

Once I have finished my coffee I look at Dad, knowing that he will ask me a question to which the answer will shock all of them.

"Sweetheart, when did you decide to become an Assassin?" Dad asks and I look at him as I try to find the best way to tell him the story about the part of my life he knows nothing about. I take a deep breath before I start talking about my secret

life.
