A Gamma's Revenge (Zalia)

Chapter 404

Maleah's p.o.V.

“I will refer to him as my Great-Grandfather to make it easier.” I say and everyone nods their head.

"My trail ended with him, his name and that of his Mate just appeared in the Pack's archives, no other family file added with it. We then looked at every Pack to see if someone disappeared around that same time and after eliminating one after the other two names remained on the list, the Royal Assassin and the female he was supposed to bring to the King after killing her Father.

At first I thought we had made a mistake and I went over every piece of information again and again, until I had to face the truth in the end. My Great- Grandfather was the Royal Assassin." I say and everyone remains silent as I snuggle closer to Mack's chest.

I remember the day I finally accepted the truth, it was during a huge fashion event in Marskha and I was also working an assignment.

Normally my assignments are works of precision, but this time I lost control of Fortune and to this day I have no idea why she was able to take control. She told me that something about the target had triggered her to push forward, neither one of us really understood why and in the end we just accepted it for what is was.

A fucked up day, a day to forget about as quickly as we could.

I never told anyone about my discovery before, I have no intention to make it public knowledge that I am a descendent of the Royal Assassin. The Royal Assassin bloodline went extinct centuries ago and if it is up to me it will remain that way, I don't want to become the Royal Assassin.

It might give me the chance to find out why certain Wolves and Lycans escape justice, but it is not worth losing my freedom over and I doubt the Royals would appreciate that Mack is my Mate.noveldrama

I can hear ask yourself, how does she know the Royals won't appreciate her Mate?

Well, let me answer that while the others try to figure out what my revelation exactly means.

As a famous designer and well-known businesswoman I meet a lot of people and that includes the Royals. The Queen would always contact me through videocall to tell me the type of dress she was looking for and our conversations were always focused on the design.

When I met them for the first time they were really friendly, complimenting me on my designs and boutiques and I had a really good time talking to the Royals. The Queen was happy she finally got to meet me in person and on social media she even mentioned how much she had enjoyed our conversation, that I was a smart young female.

So, the second time I met them we were talking amicably about my childhood and they were happy to hear that I grew up in a Pack. That was of course until they heard which Pack I was born in and when our Queen finally made the connection between me and Dad the fun was over.

It didn't mean I lost the work they gave me, but they started to avoid being in my presence in public and now a days I just avoid any contact with the Royals at all.

I don't even talk to the Queen on her designs anymore, I have one of my seamstresses take care of that and at first the Queen wasn't pleased with it, that was until I sent her an email. I told her that if she wanted to ignore me for who my Father is and for my birth Pack, than I would prefer to have no contact at all and that she could go elsewhere for her dresses if this wasn't going to work for her.

The Queen accepted my conditions and she still wears my designs but she never answers a questions about me if she is asked one.

After finding out who I actually am to the Throne I saw the Queen at a gala and she walked away when someone walked me over to the hostess, not that that bothered me. It was the fact I heard her whisper to her Beta to make sure she never came anywhere near me again, that she didn't want to be associated with someone from Blood Crescent Pack.

It was because of that evening that I decided I would never become the Royal Assassin, the Queen could have known who's Daughter I was and from which Pack because anyone that tries to find me online while find a link to my professional website and one of the first things you will find on my website is the fact that I am a member of Blood Crescent Pack.

I never felt a shamed of my birth Pack or of my Father, but I am relieved no one outside this office knows the truth.

Diego's p.o.v.

The moment Maleah tells us about Tara's bloodline I know Tara knew about it, it never made sense when she said she would stay until Maleah became useful to her and now I finally understand what she meant.

If Maleah shifted into a Lycan she would have informed the Queen and that would have meant a huge change in status for Tara, but I have a feeling that Maleah didn't tell us everything about Tara's bloodline.

My bloodline is one of the purest there is, but Tara's bloodline has to come close for Maleah to shift at the age of eight.

What doesn't make sense is the fact that Tara claims to be a Sigma?

It never mattered to me and Timber that she was a Sigma, the connection was

there and the bond that formed was a solid bond and I never understood why she eventually rejected me.

Every time I was home I tried to show Tara how much Timber and I loved her, from time to time I thought I was getting somewhere with our relationship and within an hour we would be back to where I started.

After Tara rejected me I made it clear she was not to leave the territory with Maleah and Alpha Max made sure every Pack-member knew, making it impossible for Tara to take my Daughter away from me.

Max and Elyse took care of Maleah whenever it was needed and even when they were busy training their Sons they still kept an eye on her for me, they said they owed it to me for everything I have done and still do for the Pack.

I never got an answer from Tara to my question why she rejected me, nor to the question why she kept living in my house. After finding out she is mated to Alpha Bradley I knew I would never get answers from Tara.

Timber was heartbroken the first few weeks after she rejected us, but Maleah was his reason for not giving up and to this day he thanks the Goddess daily for giving us our little girl, However, since finding out Maleah has a Lycan he has changed it to our little Lycan and know we both owe our lives to her existence.

If there hadn't been a Pup to live for I might have taken more risks during my

assignments, resulting in either getting got or getting killed.

Maleah has always been the light in my rather dark existence, she could make me forget about my assignments and all she had to do was show me one of her drawings.

I could listen to her for hours about her dreams about what she wanted her future to be like and what her Mate should be like. I didn't get as much time with Maleah as I wanted because of Tara, but the time I did get to spend with my Daughter are moments I will always cherish.

I never felt disappointed when she didn't shift because it wasn't important for her dreams, even without her Lycan she could have gotten the Mate she was hoping for and looking at her now in the arms of Mack I know she has found him. I once asked Maleah what her Mate should look like and she asked me if I lost my fucking mind, she was nine

years old by the way.

"I don't care what my Mate looks like, I care about what kind of male he is. I want

a Mate that will love me no matter what, a Mate that will protect me to the best of his abilities and who will always have my back no matter what I want to do in life.

Just because something looks good doesn't mean it is good and that goes for a Mate as well." She had answered me and I knew in that moment that my Daughter would always trust her instincts.

My attention gets pulled back to Maleah when I hear a soft growl, "What is wrong, Sweetheart?" I ask her and I hear Mack growling after she has turned her phone in his direction.

"Mother wants me to pay my respects to my Stepbrother, she is expecting me to be there for the funeral in a week." She growls and I can hear a few others around us growl as well.
