Branch One Hundred
“I am never going on anything that would compromise my life again,” Xavier said staggering a little as they came down from the ride.
“Why did that kiddies’ ride get you all afraid?” Jessica asked air quoting the word kiddies.
“I admit that it is not a kiddies’ ride,” Xavier said throwing his hands up in the air and walking away.
“People would think we are fighting if you walk away,” Jessica said as she caught up with him and held his arm.
“Let’s do that. It only requires darts and teddy bears” she added pulling him in the direction.
Xavier sighed with relief when they steered clear of the rest of the rides and only stuck with the things you get to do on the ground.
“So many people are interested in you,” Jessica said as they took their seat at an empty table at the food court. She put down the teddy bear that he had won for her at the game.
Most eyes turned to him and her and a lot of pictures were taken.
“I would get something for us to eat then,” he said standing up and ignoring her earlier comment.
“Who taught you what to do when you come to a place like this?” she asked.
“What do you mean?” he asked like she had told a lie.
“Think about it, you have been this seriously stuck-up guy who I can’t reach and then all of a sudden it seemed like you had a few romantic lines and tricks hidden up your sleeves”
“No comment,” he said walking away.
He came back shortly with two corn dogs and a single large drink but two straws. He was back quickly despite the long queue at the food stand.
“You are back already?” she asked raising her eyes to look at the queue.
“Everyone was so nice they let me go first,” he said.
“Wow, must be nice to be you” she teased.
“Well, what can I say? I am a legend” he followed her teasing and sat back down.
He gave her a piece of the corn dog and she said a short thanks before taking a bite.
“Aren’t you thirsty?” she asked when she saw that it was only a cup.
“I bought a large drink. I was told that sharing a drink at the park was a must for couples and since we are playing the happy couple don’t you think this fits us so well?”
“Wow, if you ever have the slightest interest in women then you would become a jigolo,” she told him.
“I have the charms don’t I? And I put my heart into whatever it is that I have to do”
“Oh the worse,” she said bending to take a sip from the drink.
“What would you like to do tomorrow? Should we go to the ancient places where they make some old food?” he asked.
“You’ve done quite a lot of research now haven’t you?” she asked.
“Because if I am going to do all on your list I have to do my own research too”
“Chairman you need to see this” Roselle said as she came close to Dawson.
Since Xavier left with Jessica, Roselle had been keeping a keen eye on the news surrounding Aurora Haven.
If they went out together there would be no way that they would miss the eyes of the numerous cameras. The Delgado family was powerful enough for him to be photographed anywhere in this world.
“You look so excited, what could it be about?” Dawson asked as he took the iPad from her and looked over it.
All over the screen were pictures of Jessica and Xavier hand in hand all over the amusement park.
“I guess all they really needed was a push from the outside,” Dawson said smiling.
The images were believable enough that he did not need any soothsayer to tell him what was going on in them. Anyone who saw the pictures would conclude that they were such a loving couple.
“I guess our plan is working”
“Yes, Chairman” Roselle said happily. Seeing that Xavier whom she had practically raised was in love made her heart warm.
She was happy that Jessica would not have to leave the house just like that. She has grown fond of her so much in the last month that she felt attached to her already.
“Knowing my grandson I would say the plan just began. He could have a change of mind suddenly it it could be that they are both acting because of the camera around”
“I guess being in business for long makes you doubt everyone’s intentions?” Roselle asked.
“It’s a habit you have to pick up or develop without knowing,” Dawson said with a small laugh. “Let’s just keep an eye on them and keep putting them in situations and positions where they have to be alone too” he added.
Roselle nodded. Now that she saw the result of the plan she could not help but become even more invested in it. It was truly a thing of joy for her to be a part of such a great thing.
“What would you be having for dinner?”NôvelDrama.Org owns this.
“I miss Jessica’s pasta so much,” Dawson said with a yawn. “Maybe I should not have sent them on this long trip”
“I know you don’t mean that. I would try my very best to make pasta that tastes like something Jessica would make” Roselle said walking away.
“Xavier is a Delgado after all”
