Branch Sixty Six
“Hit me with your question,” Leslie said when she heard the distress in her friend’s voice.
“You know how Xavier is?” Jessica asked. She wanted to justify her actions by telling herself that Xavier was at fault and she did nothing wrong. She only tried to avoid the situation but then it got worse because of his attitude.
“Oh boy who doesn’t,” Leslie said rolling her eyes.
“So we argued yesterday and I decided to move out of the room we share…”
“You two share a room?” Leslie asked citing her off shocked.
“Yes, we do. Back to the main point” Jessica continued
“And none of you have made a move on the other?” she asked.
“Yes, that is correct. Can I ask my question?” she continued.
“Wow, I can’t believe that. The two of you are attractive so it makes no sense” Leslie continued.
“Leslie, back to the main point,” Jessica said with a stern voice. It was not a matter of why they did not find each other attractive. It was a matter of what she needed to do at that point. Should she hold on to her pride and move out or act shameless and stay in the room?
“Yeah so the matter at hand,” Leslie said pulling her entire energy together to stop being distracted by the way the both of them act.
“I was going to move out but today Xavier acted all cute and sweet all day and I am confused about if I should still stay in the room or if I should pack out as I earlier planned,” she said and waited for a response.
“The staff already prepared a room for me and I had packed my suitcase too” she added when the silence became prolonged.
“I have no idea why you are calling me. You know what to do” Leslie said smiling to herself.
“I know what to do?” Jessica asked. She did not know what to do if not she would not be calling her.
“Of course you do. Unpack the suitcase and stay in that room until you both fall in love” Leslie said.
“We are not falling in love,” Jessica said jumping to defend herself.
“Yeah, but he was cute and sweet. Was he also good-looking and dreamy?”
“Yes,” Jessica said absentmindedly “Wait no no no,” she said connecting herself when she thought about her answer.
“You think the is cute, handsome, dreamy, and handsome. Isn’t that love?” Leslie asked.
“It’s not love. We decided to be friends” Jessica resounded.
There was no way she loved him. She was still in love with Burke. She knew her heart and she knew what he said. The heart still beat for Burke and there was nothing she could do about it.
Xavier was sweet today and she had to admit it but it did not mean her heart shifted from Burke who she had loved all this while.
“Just unpack for now. If you think you made the wrong decision then move out later” Leslie said finally. “Friends don’t find each other dreamy” she whispered.
“What was that?”

“Thank you Good night,” Jessica said pulling the phone from her ears.
“Good night”
Jessica unpacked her suitcase and changed into something comfortable for bed. She has a rather long shower to wash away the sickness from the drink that she wore all day. As she entered back into the room she met Roselle dropping a tray of food to the table.
“What is that?” Jessica asked startling the woman.
“Oh my God young lady you startle me,” Roselle said her hand going to her chest.
“You startled me. I did not expect to see anyone in her when I came out of the bathroom” Jessica said back.
“The young master asked that I deliver a meal for you tonight,” Roselle said.
Jessica felt her stomach feel funny when she heard the meal delivery was Xavier’s idea. It was not the first time that he cared about her dinner before.
If one could look past his excesses and impossible personality she was a gem underneath the rough surface.
“Thank you,” Jessica said as she felt a smile climb up her face. She walked to the table where the meal was placed. Roselle watched her and could not help but smile as she watched the girl smile too.
“Young lady, the room you asked to be prepared has finally been cleaned by the staff,” Roselle said.
She was going to skip telling her but she needed to tease her. She knew that both Xavier and Jessica could deny the feelings they feel because they don’t want to get together. She would take it as her responsibility to ensure that she pushed them together.
“I would stay here for the meantime,” Jessica said.
Roselle felt a smile creep up her face but she pressed it with a frown.
“Okay when would you be moving?” she asked.
“Not for a while” Jessica answered back.
“Okay then. Good night Young Lady” Roselle said, gave a small bow, and left the room.
“Finally something to eat. I thought I would sleep hungry because I had not had lunch and dinner” she said loudly to herself as she pulled out one of the chairs to the table.
She took her phone and sent a thank you message to Xavier for the day and the meal.
Roselle did not go back downstairs but instead went to Dawson’s room. She was aware that Dawson was trying his best to put the two of them together and her newly found information would be of good use to him. The young master deserved love and a happy life too.
“Fancy you coming to say Hello,” Dawson said as Roselle strolled into his room.
“Chairman, I have good news for you,” Roselle said ignoring his comment.
“Well hello to you too,” Dawson said back.
“Do you want to hear my good news?” she asked.
“Of course, I do want to, but don’t you think you are being too hard on me?” Dawson asked.
“How?” Roselle asked confused.
“We live in the same house but you find it hard to say Hello,” Dawson said.
“I am sorry about that Chairman. How do you do? How is your health?” Roselle asked.
“You are insincere,” Dawson said. “What’s the good news?” he said. Roselle rolled her eyes at him before proceeding to say.
“This is the right time to send the couple away on their honeymoon”
