Donna had just entered the safety of the house when Ben followed close behind, his voice low and mysterious. “Come to my room, Donna. There’s something I need to discuss with you.”
Donna didn’t question his request, simply obeying and closing the door behind her with a sense of unease. Something was off. “What’s wrong, Ben?” she asked, her voice tinged with concern.
“That man you met downstairs. Who was he?” Ben questioned, his eyes intense.
“He’s the dashing man I spotted at the airport when we returned the other day. You saw him too, didn’t you? What do you think? Is he handsome? He bears a resemblance to you!” Donna rambled excitedly.
Ben brushed off her statement, his focus unwavering. “Did you add him on WhatsApp?”
Donna nodded eagerly. “Yes, I did!”This is the property of Nô-velDrama.Org.
“Let me see your phone,” Ben commanded.
Obediently, Donna handed him her phone, worry etching deeper onto her face. “What’s the matter, Ben? Is everything alright?”
Silently, Ben scrolled through her contact list on WhatsApp. Soon enough, he discovered a newly added contact that she had yet to initiate a conversation with.
After a brief hesitation, Ben decided to explore his status posts, only to find nothing. No trace of any previous posts existed.
It was as if he had never shared anything before.
With a growing sense of unease, Donna questioned, “What’s gotten into you, Ben?”
Ben’s gaze shifted back to her as he replied, “It’s nothing. I just feel like I’ve seen him before, that’s all. Perhaps in a magazine or something.”
Donna frowned, unconvinced. “Really?”
“Yeah.” Ben returned her phone to her, his mind lost in thought. “He might be a well-known Alpha. Feel free to chat with him if you wish.”
Donna nodded slowly. “He seems like someone worthy of pity.”
“Pity? How so?”
“He mentioned how he could have had a child as adorable as me, but…” Donna trailed off.
A sharp pang shot through Ben’s heart at her words. “But what?”
“But fate had other plans. Something must have happened,” Donna concluded.
Lost in his thoughts, Ben was snapped back to reality when Tony poked his head into the room, a mischievous smile on his face. “What are you two whispering about behind my back?”
“Oh, we were just discussing Donna’s chat with some random stranger!” Ben stated, his tone slightly mocking.
“He’s not just some random stranger! This may be the second time I’ve encountered him, but I have a feeling he’s a decent person!” Donna defended.
Ben remained silent, lost in his own thoughts.
Though Tony was the most playful among them, he possessed an uncanny ability to discern emotions. He approached them and jokingly asked, “Gramps made some dessert for dinner. Care for some?”
Donna’s eyes sparked with joy at the mention of dessert. “Yes, please!”
Tony took a seat in front of Ben, his expression growing serious. “Alright, spill. What’s going on?”
There was a flicker of hesitation in Ben’s eyes as he stared back at Tony.
“It’s fine if you’re not ready to talk about it now. Just remember, when you’re ready, I’ll be here,” Tony offered, preparing to leave.
“I think I may have an idea of who our father is,” Ben finally admitted.
Tony froze in his tracks, shock evident on his face. “Are you certain?”
Ben shook his head. “Not entirely. I need to confirm it first.” My theories are based solely on intuition.
“How do you plan on confirming it?” Tony inquired.
“I need more time to think,” Ben responded.
“Does Donna know?”
“I want to be certain before I tell her. I don’t want her to face disappointment.”
Tony nodded understandingly. “That’s reasonable. No expectations, no disappointments.”
“I’ll keep you updated once I figure something out,” Ben promised.
Tony simply nodded, refraining from further comments.
Alpha Wade arrived with a tray of desserts as Nelly emerged, having changed into fresh clothes.
Observing the cryptic behavior of the three, Alpha Wade recounted their conversation from three hours prior to Nelly.
She burst into laughter upon hearing his tale. “They were probably just trying to get you to spill the beans!”
“And what if they were using me?” Alpha Wade questioned.
“You’ll get used to it, Grandpa!” Nelly reassured him.
Spending time with those kids makes me feel young again!
Alpha Wade chuckled, amused by the thought. “Have they never asked about their father?” he inquired, devouring the desserts he had prepared.
Nelly shook her head. “No, they haven’t.”
“What if they find out the truth? Have you considered what you’ll do then?” Alpha Wade pressed on.
“I never intended to keep them from learning the truth. If they ask about him, I’ll be honest. No lies,” Nelly affirmed.
“Aren’t you afraid they might choose Alpha Kilian?” Alpha Wade probed.
Nelly flashed a knowing smile. “It’s their freedom to choose whether they stay or go. I’m content being their mother. I won’t restrict their choices. Their allegiance won’t change the fact that I am their mother, and it won’t diminish my love for them in the slightest.”
Nelly has truly grown wise. She possesses her own opinions and grants her children maximum freedom.
With that realization, Alpha Wade exclaimed, “Alpha Kilian is a fortunate man. He may be unaware of their existence, but he is blessed to be their father.”
Nelly refrained from commenting, focusing on providing the best life for her children.
Ben and Tony emerged from the room, their innocent expressions belied by the weight on their minds.
Nelly sensed their preoccupation but chose not to pry.
“So, how was your talk with Alpha Lucas, Nelly?” Tony inquired, a mischievous grin on his face.
Suddenly remembering something, Donna joined in. “Oh, I almost forgot! What are your thoughts on him, Mommy? Is he truly handsome?”
Ben, the only one not invested in the conversation, simply stayed silent.
“We had a pleasant conversation. And yes, he happens to be quite handsome,” Nelly reluctantly admitted.
“I know, right? He’s so gentle and gallant! I always assumed he was just involved in school affairs, but I discovered today that he’s the school director too! He even owns shares in the school!”
“He appears to be a successful and charming Alpha, then?”
