Chapter 73
Chapter 73
Before leaving, Mikayla placed a sign saying “Under Repair” outside the toilet.
Then, she called Michael. “Michael, I heard you have a friend who is particularly good at working with computers. Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.
“Can you ask him to do me a favor? I need him to delete the surveillance footage of the first floor of Mega City Mall for the past half–hour.”
Michael didn’t know what was going on but he still agreed. “Okay, please send me the specific location of the mall.”
Mikayla’s pent–up anger finally subsided a bit after her stunt.
When Mikayla got back to Dragoncrest Villa, she found that Jerome’s belongings were still in the corridor.
She ignored the sight and started to ponder about Ansoft Enterprise’s situation.
The company had already released several statements to clarify the situation. Everyone knew that Johnny had been involved in a scandal outside of his marriage, and Betty quickly divorced him.
Many people were also aware that Ansoft Enterprise lost its Chief Technology Officer and that Johnny was planning on opening his own company.
How could Ansoft Enterprise capitalize on this situation?
Betty would never try to gain the sympathy of the public by acting like she was wronged.
Besides, if things did not go well, it might not necessarily garner the public’s sympathy toward her but invite ridicule and criticism.
Mikayla couldn’t think of a good strategy to capitalize on the situation. Thus, she turned on the news.
She stumbled upon an article with the title “To celebrate the acquisition of Bernhal, the Miller Group will host a grand banquet with elites from all walks of life in presence“.
In her previous life, Miller Group had also hosted a banquet to celebrate their successful investment in Ansoft Enterprise.
This time, there would still be a grand banquet held at Bernhal despite the Miller Group’s
failure in investment.
It had been more than a month since Miller Group acquired Bernhal. Everyone knew that
the banquet was organized to divert attention from Ansoft Enterprise’s recent troubles.
Mikayla turned off her phone and went downstairs for a drink, only to see Amy watching a
video.
Amy loved watching videos about local events. Hearing a vaguely familiar cry in the video, Mikayla also approached to look at Amy’s phone.
It was indeed Annie Florence.
In the video, Annie’s face and body were covered in lime mortar and her hair was a mess.
She was crying and shouting at the mall staff, demanding that they compensate her.
The mall’s staff explained that the area she entered was under renovation and they had
placed warnings so that people would not approach it.
There was no proof that Annie’s accident was caused by the negligence of the staff, either. The staff suspected that Annie was lying and staging a scene so that she could extort
money out of the mall.
After all, Annie had once intentionally made a small hole in a high–end brand store’s clothing, hoping that she would be able to get a discount on the dress.
Annie denied the truth even when people found out that she had been in the wrong.
Netizens were disc
by her behavior and thought that she was a greedy woman. Thus,
no one believed in her this time around.
Soon, the staff called the police, and Annie was taken away.
“She really deserves to be treated this way. The police should give her a good lesson!” Amy
said with satisfaction.
Mikayla smiled and agreed. “Indeed, she deserves it.”
“Mrs. Miller, are you here to wait for Mr. Miller?” Amy suddenly asked.
