Be My Mate

Chapter 6- One Last Time?

Chapter 6- One Last Time?

Sabrina's POV

"You are so beautiful Sabrina..." Xander says to me as we lay cuddled in bed.

"I'd spend every night with you even if my life was in danger, I'd risk it all just to have this with you." He says, cupping my face with his big hand as I look in to his eyes.

His other hand drawing circles on my back with my head on his chest, his heartbeat calming my nerves. He was saying the sweetest things and here I am, worried about today.

The day he meets his second chance mate. The day his life changes and it won't include me in it any longer.

"I can't believe this is it. We had plans for our future.." He continues.

"We did but I guess we will never get to see them through." I say sadly.

Last night was what every night had been with Xander, magical. We can go from animalistic to pure love making and that's what we did.

Can't say we had enough sleep and I'm not complaining. If I could add extra hours to the night, I would have but that's not how life works even though I'm a god.

"Hunter thinks I shouldn't be forced to be with or without anyone." I say.

"Oh yeah?" He asks and I nod my head yes.

"He's a stubborn old man who just wants to see his daughter happy but we can't risk it, for the sake of the pack. I can't risk people getting hurt for my happiness." I say.

And once again, my happiness taking the back seat when it comes to decision making. I guess more happiness awaits me with Aiden so is it fair to complain?

"In another life, I will have you and Adrastos as my family. Maybe even more children but I'm happy to have experienced our love Sabrina even though it was short, I got to experience a love so great and powerful." He says as the sun lights up our room, signaling the beginning of the new day.

People start walking about just outside his room. Loud chatter and laughter fill the hallways as sadness fills this room. Our time together at an end but neither of us ready to let go.

"I have to say, losing to your brother was a bruise to the ego. I'm a lycan of alpha blood and he's just a beta blooded werewolf but he showed me flames yesterday. I still can't believe he's through to the final." Xander says and I chuckle.

"You forget my brother was in training for almost ten years in the heavenly realm. He was blessed by the previous moon goddess with immense strength and he is a tactical fighter so I'm not surprised. Probably watched every fight you've been in and caught on to your style, nerdy brother of mine." I say with so much pride.

"Can't wait to see him fight again today. Everyone is excited for today and I guess we have to get up before they begin..." Xander says to me.

We remain quiet, not wanting to pull away from our loving embrace.

A few more minutes pass and I pull away, wanting to get this agony over with.

I quickly get dressed and turn around to face Xander, who was still in bed.

Naked.

"I'm gonna head off to freshen up and get changed. I'll meet you at the arena?" I ask and he nods his head yes but his eyes held so much sadness.

I quickly peck his lips and leave his room before the tears fall down my face. I disappear off back to my castle to cry some more.

I find Evan waiting for me. I quickly wipe away the tears and make my way to him.

"Your Serene highness, your sister needs you." Evan says to me.

"What's wrong?" I ask and he looks at me with sadness.

"I'd rather show you. Your mother is with her now." He says as he leads the way inside my castle, my new permanent home.

We walk up the stairs to the many bedrooms on the first floor. Evan opens the room on our right and what was inside broke my heart to pieces.

Josey was on the floor, pulling out her hair as mother tries to calm her down.

I run in and quickly pull her in for a hug. I look at my mother alarmingly and she just looks like she's about to break down.

"No! You shut up." Josey screams out.

"You shut up!" She says again and I look at Evan.

"Someone explain this to me." I say.

"It appears Josey is having a power struggle with her wolf and vampire." Evan says to me and I gasp.

She wriggles herself out of my hold before shifting in to her wolf. Power radiating off of her in volumes as her wolf makes her mark as the supreme being in her body.

Her eyes kept flicking back and forth, her vampire clearly not backing down.

"Sedate her until we find a way to deal with this and not only her wolf, we need to sedate her entire being. Let her rest, please!" Mother says.

"Sedate her vampire. I want to talk to my sister, the one I know." I say and Evan nods before two elders walk in. Mother and I help them pin down Josey, who fights us and still in her wolf form.

We eventually succeed in sedating her vampire and I can feel her wolf relax, shifting back to reveal a very tired Josey.

She looks at me and mouths a thank you before passing out. Mother carries her to the bed and places her on top of it.

"How did this happen?" I ask.

"I think Josey has been struggling for some time and she kept this from us. My poor baby..." Mother says.

I get on the bed to be closer to Josey. Wanting to be as close as possible.

How did I miss this? How could I be stupid enough to think the vampire won't fight for control?

"Is there a way to kill it without killing her?" I ask out loud.

"We would probably need a witch for that." Evan responds.

"That's ancient magic! Who knows if people still practice such dark witchcraft?" My mother says as she paces back and forth.

I get up, plant a kiss on Josey's forehead and make my way to the door.

"We need Arianna and she's at the arena watching Cj fight Aiden. I will go find her, if she doesn't know how, I reckon her mother will." I say before walking out.

I rush to my room to quickly freshen up and make my way out, back to the arena. As much as I wanted to avoid seeing Xander meet his mate, my sister needed Arianna's help and that was more important right now.

"Sabrina wait up!" Anthony calls out for me. With everything that has been going on, I have not seen much of my twin brother.

He runs up to me and pulls me in for a hug. I fall into his arms and find comfort in his embrace.

Just what I needed right now.

"I know what's waiting for you at the Arena. Father told me." He says as he rests his head on mine.

"You can revoke this Sab. You don't have to do this right now and if you want, I'll protect Xander." He says and I chuckle lightly.

Oh I wish it was that easy.

"He wants to end things too. It has been eating him up knowing I'm mated to someone else and obviously this sacred law that we all grew up on. It is also not fair to treat Aiden like this, he is hurting." I say. Although my heart was longing for Xander, every other fiber of my being was aching for Aiden.

"Then I'll come with you. You will not be doing this alone." Anthony says to me as he pulls away and the loneliness seeps in again.

I feel a little chill, wrapping my arms around myself as I nod my head. Inwardly grateful to have Anthony right now.

We arrive at the arena, the fight already taking place.

The first thing I noticed was Aiden and how he was not fighting at his full strength, which seemed to annoy my little brother.

Which confirms what my father said before, Aiden wouldn't want to hurt me and that doesn't stop Cj from fighting at his best, giving Aiden a few good punches that probably knocked the wind out of him.

Aiden and I lock eyes for just a second and I think he smiles back at me but I look away. Too much happening today to deal with feelings for Aiden.

Anthony pokes my side, signaling me to look in his line of sight and what I see breaks me.

Xander looking straight at me as his new mate stands before him. I could see the pain in his eyes but I couldn't feel it. I raise my hand to touch his mark but it isn't there anymore and my heart falls to my stomach at the realization that he is no longer mine.

I scan his neck for my mark and like me, it isn't there anymore. Xander walks past his new mate, lightly shoving her out of the way walking towards me. Epverything in me wants to cowar away and make a run for it but my feet stay rooted in place.

Anthony squeezes my hand before giving me space to let Xander say his peace. So much for support!

'We can do this.' Athena assures me but even her voice was not convincing.

Xander stops right in front of me, his aura beaming with anger, hurt and frustration.

I had forced sacred law on him and it must be frustrating.

"Why would you do that Sabrina?" He asks me. I remain quiet because he knows why, he knows I'll do anything to keep him alive.

"You could've wiped my memory too you know. So I don't have to feel conflicted about this. I still love you, that does not change anything! The mate pull is not strong enough for me to ignore what I feel for you, even though you had this genius plan." He says and my heart aches.

"I just want to keep you alive." I say and he chuckles.

"What for? What for if I can't be with you?" He asks and the tears start again.

His mate walks up to us, confused and angry. Her anger directed at me and it unsettles Athena.

"What is going on mate?" She asks looking at me.

"Sabrina reverse this." Xander says to me, ignoring her question.

She doesn't take kindly to being ignored and she pulls Xander's head to face her.

"I asked you a question." She says and he pulls away from her.

"I will deal with you later. Right now I have more important things to deal with as in why the hell would you pair me up with an alpha's child? And do you have any idea who this child belongs to?" He asks. The girl's nostrils flare up, indicating complete infuriation and this time, not at me.

"All I know is that she's a good person and she will be good for the pack. She will give you very strong pups who will take after you." I say looking him straight in the eyes.

"What of my heart? Does that not matter to you?" He asks and I open my mouth only to close it again.

"I love you! Understand that and there's no mate pull that would change that. Take you for example, how do you feel about Aiden? Here you are standing with me. The love we have for each other can't

simply be cancelled out Sabrina. I won't stop loving you, I'm angry but I won't stop loving you. It will always be you, why won't you just let be so?" He asks and I remain quiet.

"I could have her give me a whole soccer team but that won't change what I feel for you! You took away that right from me and I will not be forced in to mating someone because..." Xander says and I don't let him finish.

"I am your moon goddess and you will obey sacred law. This is the girl I chose for you, reject her and spend the rest of your days in complete loneliness." I say and a light goes on in Xander's head as I see his eyes sparkle with mischief.

"That's how I wanted it anyway. You could've asked me and I would've asked to be left alone. It is not fair to me or her what you have done to us. I can't be with her if I'm still in love with you." He says before turning to face her.

The girl's eyes bulge out at the realization of what Xander is about to do.

"Don't do this X!" I ask, my eyes pleading with him but he doesn't even look at me.

"I, Xander Creek of the Red Creek pack, reject you Allison Black as my mate and luna. My decision is final." He says before casting a look my way then walking away.

He stops for a second and looks back at me. I could see the tears threatening to fall out of his eyes.

"Nobody but you." Xander says to me then turns back around and walks away.

Anthony squeezes my shoulder before running after Xander, leaving me with a very angry alpha female.

I have to get Arianna and get the hell out of here. I can figure this out later but her last name bothered me.

It sounded too familiar and judging by my uneasiness, this girl's last name meant trouble and it was in my best interest to find out before trouble knocks on my door.Belongs © to NôvelDrama.Org.
