Be Your Lover Forever (Alicia)

Chapter 1563

Who was the one capable of causing his precious daughter to lose her temper with him? He should widen his eyes and take a proper look! Shouldn't the son-in- law be the one paying a visit?

Indeed, his daughter was all grown up!

How did she dare get the old man to meet the son-in-law on his own?

The doubts and thoughts in Abel's mind disappeared. Over at the other end of the line, Waverly's voice, which had obviously softened, sounded in his ear once more.

"Dad, safety is more important. You don't have to rush! It will start at 7:30, and it doesn't matter if you're late! Dad, he's quite capable. You don't have to keep a low profile on purpose because he won't be intimidated by your aura! I'm sure you two will get along with each other..."

After a few words of advice, Waverly faintly felt that she seemed to be unfilial. It seemed that she was starting to get on the wrong side when she appeared to be siding with Wyatt!

Fortunately, Harry was not by her side. Else, he would have reprimanded her with a long face.

In the world, only her father would unconditionally forgive and spoil her! Right then, the feeling of joy and overwhelming happiness welled up in her heart.

"Waverly, who on earth is so excellent and deserving of your praises?"

"Dad, you'll know when you're here."

She kept Abel in suspense and did not reveal Wyatt's identity. The main reason was that she did not know how to explain to her father that she had not ended up with Jake because she had returned to Wyatt. Her father knew about him, although they had never met.

"You..."

Intuitively, she seemed to have fallen deeply in love. A touch of worry flashed across Abel's face. Her love road was too tough.

Deep down, he was afraid that love would become the straw that couldn't bear the burden and destroy his baby daughter.

"Waverly, those who are involved are confused! Women are fragile. You should be serious when it comes to relationships, but at the same time, not too serious. Pay attention to protecting yourself and learn more about your partner. Don't be cheated..."

After all, he was a man, so Abel did not know what he should say for her to understand. He could only faintly mention and remind her.

He thought of Franklin, who had been talented, and so had Waverly been madly in love with him, but there were some aspects of Franklin that he disapproved of, such as his resort to quick success and shortcuts in his career.

When he first learned that Franklin had replicated others' products and was proven guilty after being investigated, he knew that Franklin could not hold on to some of his bottom lines! He obviously had many opportunities to solve the difficulties, even if he had no choice but to beg, it was better than his decision to take on the high-risk desperate escape!

To put it bluntly, Franklin had been vain and blinded by wealth. He had neither been willing to submit nor had he been willing to admit his powerlessness in resolving the crisis. All he had wanted was to pass through the difficulties via a shortcut, but there were no shortcuts no matter what path one took. Only by having a solid foundation could one achieve the ultimate success. Indeed, taking a shortcut could lead to a moment of glory, but sooner or later, one would have to reap and swallow the seeds of what one had planted.

As he had expected, Franklin had chosen a shortcut by the time he landed in trouble after being exposed. By then, he had chosen to betray his marriage. Since he could not receive assistance from Waverly, he secretly chose an average woman obsessed with him, not to mention how he went as far as to give her a child to obtain temporary benefit from her.

It was why Waverly was a victim, and so was that woman!

The selfish Franklin cared about himself, and himself only! The fact that he didn't give up on Waverly and cheated on another woman at the same time was a clear indication! He must have secretly prepared different plans. He believed that the Castle Family would not leave him to fend for himself, but at the same time, he dared not guarantee that the Castle Family would lend him a helping hand. It was why he came up with the plan behind the scenes! Never in his dreams did he expect that the woman who was obsessed and listened to all his instructions would come to him one day, leading to the destruction of his scheme!

If he had not died, the pregnant woman would not have ended up well either...

At the thought of the incident, Abel's heart ached for his daughter.

She had been well protected since she was young, and she had not experienced too many setbacks. When encountering issues, she was keen to think in a positive direction. After her relationship had given her too heavy a blow, he was afraid that she would become more confused and cautious in handling her feelings. Once she identified a man to be her Mr. ght, she would act like a moth flying into the fire and never turn back!

"Dad, I get it! I will never make the same mistake twice, so I need you to come over and help me check him out! Dad, I will take good care of myself. I haven't repaid your kindness in raising me up!"

Thinking of the past, Waverly couldn't help but sob at her words, but a thought in her heart burned like a flame. No matter what, she had to live well. For her father, she had to live a good life!

After chitchatting for a while longer, the two hung up.

On the other hand, Wyatt returned home in the smell of alcohol after a day of entertaining business partners. Taking a bath, his eyelids were heavy.

Just as he was about to doze off, a familiar ringtone came from the phone that sent him wide awake with a quiver. As soon as his eyes fell on the screen, the words "Raynee" came into his sight. Knocking on his blurred mind, he got up to walk toward the shower.

The sound of running water came, mixed with clear music.

Wyatt suffered from extreme exhaustion and he felt a splitting headache. He was so irritated that he closed his eyes with a tight frown on his brows.

After turning off the tap, and the music ended with the last note, he slowly opened his eyes. His eyes subconsciously swept across the phone on the other end of the table before he reached for a towel and walked out of the bathroom.

After washing up and returning to his bedroom, Wyatt was about to go to bed when the familiar ringtone sounded once more, driving his sleepy bugs away. He felt uncomfortable all over. The moment he fetched his phone and saw that the call was from Raynee, his eyes turned icy in an instant.

What was going on?

Did she take the wrong medicine? She made so many calls in one night! When he had attended the business gathering, she had been calling him non- stop, displeasing him, but since it was an important customer and business cooperation, he did not pick it up or reply. When he returned home, however, he was surprised to find that she did not stop.

Initially, he was too tired to do anything, but his phone rang non-stop as if it would not give up until he accepted the call. He pulled off the towel on the wet hair and threw it aside before Wyatt finally decided to press the answer button.

Before he could vent his anger, she started wailing. "Wyatt..."

A sorrowful voice came, shocking the halfslumbering Wyatt and waking him up.

He raised his hand and glanced at his mobile phone before responding in a dull voice.

"Raynee?"

What was wrong with her?

For a long time, the telephone was filled with the sounds of her crying that was sometimes suppressed and at times unrestrained. Wyatt felt his eardrums tingle across the phone.

As the other party howled non-stop, he couldn't even get a word out of his mouth. For a long time, he gripped his mobile phone, and neither of them spoke.

Only when the whimpering subsided did he say, "What's wrong?"

Did something happen?

Before he could finish his sentence, she burst into tears. Wyatt had a terrible headache and a tight frown. When his inadvertent glance caught sight of the calendar on the side, a thought flitted through his mind as he was reminded of the date.

Black Pool Dance Festival was over!

Did she lose as usual?

Subconsciously, Wyatt pursed his lips mockingly. Perhaps only dance could cause

her to lose control of her emotions!

Inexplicable feelings flashed away, replaced by an indescribable deep and

complicated emotion.

For years, she had worked so hard. She had sacrificed a lot for dancing, but had she received recognition equal to the effort she had put Dance was different from other she

championships, and with bee Pipe

was no longer young, if she had not

won the current championship...

As he thought so, Wyatt couldn't help sighing. God was so unfair to her!

For years, she had always

performed well, but she would

always miss the first place by a hair's breadth. He lost count of how

many Second-place trophies she had received. Was it because she failed in comparison to others, or was it purely because of her bad luck?

Wyatt didn't know what to say, but he felt sorry for her deep down!

If she did not have the ability, she might not have had any extravagant hopes and might have given up long ago, yet she had the wealth and ability to continue the fight, but it was a pity how ill-fated she was!

All of a sudden, Wyatt did not know what to say!

He knew that many referred to her as "The All-Time First Runner-Up" behind her back. There was once when his friends had mentioned it as a joke. He felt uncomfortable listening to them, not to mention her as the party involved!

In fact, his friends had brought it up with good intentions back then in persuading

her to let it go!

That said, Raynee was Raynee. Although she appeared to be gentle on the

surface, she was stubborn and proud deep within her bones. How could she give up so easily?

It was as if another century had passed before Wyatt spoke again. "Raynee..."

She was too stubborn. She could only go easy on herself if she let go of it!

The sobbing continued.

The sobbing drowned Wyatt, followed by Raynee's sad and sorrowful voice, "I

thought I could win the championship! I thought I was guaranteed to win..."

"Why did it turn out this way?"

"Wyatt, I did well. My performancenoveldrama

was perfect! thought that even if I

couldn't win the world championship, I could still be crowned the champion of the Asian division... Worse, worse still, the

honorable mention! At least I'm on the stage of the Black Pool Dance Festival!"

The sobbing continued.

"But there was nothing! There was nothing. I was disqualified. My physical

examination revealed positive for drugs. I was disqualified!"

"I didn't take any medication. I really didn't..."

"Why does God treat me this way? I appealed, but my grades were canceled!

Even if there is no evidence, I can only accept this unfair treatment!"

"I can't defend myself! Wyatt, I'm left with nothing, left with nothing!"

"Oh, it's not my fault."

"Why did it end up this way? Why?"

On the other end of the line, Wyatt could feel her despair, resentment, loneliness,

and sorrow. He opened his mouth to speak, but he could not say a word of

reassurance...
