Chapter 28: She’s coming to be my co-driver
On the practice field, Noman stepped on the gas pedal, the car was like an arrow off the string, at the fastest speed, rushing out of the starting line!
According to the switching of the monitoring screen in the car, Cindy’s operation was so beautiful that people couldn’t take their eyes off.
Finally, when Noman’s car sped past the finish line, Peter couldn’t help but clap his hands and shout, “Yeah!”
He hurriedly ran down to meet them.
“Noman, you’re good, where did you find such an excellent co-driver?”
Noman got out of the car, took off his helmet, and said with gusto, “She’s my treasure player.”
“You guys are really lucky, I just received notice just now when you were practicing, saying that the organizer of the competition has made additional investments and doubled the prize money for the top three! If you can win, the prize money alone will not be of the same level.”
“Which company is so eager to give us money?”
“It’s the Miller Group. It’s their first time investing in racing.”
“…”
Noman immediately looked at Cindy.
Cindy was stunned, obviously not expecting it either, after all, Eric was never interested in racing.
But since it was Miller Group’s money, she was sorry for him if she didn’t earn it.
She re-buckled her helmet and gestured Noman back to the car, “Noman, I still want to run two circles.”
Peter saw her prancing around, “That’s nice! Beautiful and progressive.”
But Noman stood there, his always gangly face vaguely revealing a bit of heartache.
For the rest of the day, Cindy practiced like crazy on the field.
It was not until the field closed that Cindy tiredly got off the car. Noman had been waiting for her and handed her water.
“Go back first, you’re too eager, it’s not good.”
Cindy was a little disheveled and just walked beside him with her head down.
She was walking without looking at the road and nearly ran into a telephone pole.
Noman simply freed one hand to hook her shoulder.
In the distance, a limousine pulled up to the curb, and behind the window was the man’s cold, bony face.
He knew that Cindy came to this field to practice, so he came to take a look.
He didn’t expect to run into such a scene.
Eric narrowed his eyes and asked back in a cold voice, “Is she already living with Noman?”
“I think so …” Assistant Brown felt a chill on his side before the words ended.
He coughed dryly and hurriedly changed his mouth, “I don’t think so … no.”
The head shook and rattled.
Waiting for the cold air beside him to dissipate, he dared to secretly breathe a sigh of relief.
Eric glanced at him coldly and asked, “When is their race?”
“I think it’s in three days.” Assistant Brown blurted out.
Then as if he remembered something, he twisted his head from the passenger side, “Mr. Miller, but we have a very important bid in three days …”
A sharp look instantly made him uncomfortable like a pinprick, and he immediately added in a very small voice, “But if needed, I’ll say something to the other side and have them move a date …”
The car quieted down.
For a long time, Eric wrung his tie, two words spilling out of his throat, “No need.”
…
Three days later.
The preliminary rounds of the New York regional race kicked off.
But it was only eight o’clock in the morning, and the contestants were basically in position.
The organizer also came to the scene early.Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
“Mr. David, I heard there’s a new investor.”
“Yes, it’s also luck.” The middle-aged man in a suit turned his head and smiled back.
“Then it’s still your competition well run, I heard it’s …”
“Mr. David!”
Suddenly, a warm voice came from behind these two people.
David’s expression tightened, and then turned back, his face already covered with a flattering smile.
“Oh, Assistant Brown is here, this way please.”
Assistant Brown nodded his head and walked over.
David on one side, seeing that only he came over, asked tentatively, “Assistant Brown, are you the only one here today? Mr. Miller he …”
Assistant Brown glanced at David lightly.
“Mr. Miller has other arrangements, and I’m attending on his behalf. I don’t think there’s anything the sponsor needs to do for the preliminary round, right?”
“Yes, yes, yes, everything is subject to Mr. Miller’s schedule.” Mr. Liang smiled fawningly, even if it was one of Eric’s assistants, he had to be fawning.
