Dear Ex-wife Marry Me

Chapter 74

Mr. James also had his first gawp at such a pricey car, and he just couldn’t help showing off a bit.

“Maja, did you see that car? Rumor has it it’s worth millions. We’ve got a pretty big shot guest tonight,

and all the bigwigs have been toasting him like crazy. It was he who said that the white wall looked a bit

empty, and I thought of you. These VIP guests usually have unique tastes, and well, people who drive

these type of cars tend to have a bit of a temper. But don’t worry too much.”

Maja could hear the envy dripping from his voice. She smiled, “I’ll take it from here, Mr. James. You

head on home.”

Riverside Haven is the best place to stay in Crystalbrook Valley, Built to the standards of a five-star

hotel, it was off-limits to the public and reserved only for influential figures and businessmen investing

in the valley.

This was Maja’s first-time stepping foot in there.

The courtyard was beautifully landscaped.

The man who welcomed her heard that she was there to do a mural and immediately showed her to

her room. Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.

“The paints for the mural are ready. Would you like to go check out the site now?”

Sensing the man’s eagerness, she quickly settled her stuff and nodded, “Sure, lead the way.”

It was there she realized that the white wall was indeed in a very noticeable spot, where pretty much

everyone passing by would see.

The wall was about three meters long, surrounded by an elegant scenery. For those with an eye for

detail, the blank space looked dull.

Maja checked out the paints they provided. They weren’t as good as the ones she was used to, but

they were decent.

“I’ll start on the painting right away.”

The man beside to her wanted to remind her to be careful, but remembering that she was from the

Arcadia School of Modern Art, he swallowed his words.

Maja sat on a chair nearby, carefully observing and brainstorming in her mind.

The mural here needed to transition from light to dark, clean and simple, and should not contain too

many objects. Otherwise it would look cluttered. Having an idea in mind, she bent down to adjust the

paints, ready to start painting.

In the VIP guest room, lan was rubbing his temples. All the attendees tonight were local grassroots

officials, many of whom were quite old. They genuinely wanted to do something for this small town,

unlike the leaders in big cities who are always scheming, which actually made him let his guard down

and have a few drinks.

He usually doesn’t drink when he negotiates, but tonight was an exception.

Jeff saw him massaging his temples and thought he had a headache. “Why don’t you take a break?”

lan loosened his tie and unbuttoned the top button of his shirt, feeling somewhat sober.

He sat on the couch, his side profile handsome and sharp, with deep eyebrows and a high nose bridge.

Upon hearing Jeff’s words, he waved his hand.

“No need. I’m going to take a short walk. You go and rest.”

Jeff nodded, “There are no large factories in Crystalbrook Valley. The air quality is very good. Maybe

that’s why the higher-ups want to turn it into a tourist area.” Jeff neatly folded the jacket and handed it

to the man waiting outside.

The night breeze was refreshing. Ian glanced out the window and then walked out.

Maja had completed the outline of the mural and had decided on the overall composition of it. It was

only then she realized it was already dark outside.

Looking down, she saw that her paint palette was a bit messy. She decided to go to the nearby tap to

clean her brushes and get some fresh water.

It was ten o’clock at night, and there were few people around. In her haste, Maja walked swiftly with her

supplies. While bending down to organize her painting tools, she accidentally collided with a man who

emitted a faint scent of alcohol.

The unused paint in her hand splashed all over the man’s white shirt and onto herself.

lan looked down at his stained shirt, his eyebrows knitted together.

He found the girl who bumped into him somewhat familiar. When Maja lifted her head, their eyes met.

She seemed even more shocked when she saw him, almost dropping the items in her hands.

“Mr. Raymond, what are you doing here?”
