Dumping Him for His Uncle (Natasha and Zachary)

Chapter 37

"Please proceed to the payment counter with the slip."

Natasha looked at the payment slip and saw that it only included the cost of one medication. Everything else had already been paid for.

She tried to snap a photo to send to Zachary as she walked, and she eventually bumped into someone.

"Natasha? What a coincidence, huh? Are you seriously stalking me after you learn that Nicole and I are getting married?"

Natasha looked up to find Matthew's condescending look. She could not help but wonder how someone could grow up to be so utterly shameless.

"Don't flatter yourself. I couldn't care less even if you're marrying a stray dog."

She looked down and saw that she had accidentally sent the video to Zachary. She quickly tried to delete the message.

"Women never ever speak their mind, huh? It's too late for you to regret now, but if you're willing to talk to me politely, I might still invite you to the wedding."

The smug look on Matthew's face only left Natasha with a huge question. She could not comprehend how Matthew would think that all the women in the world revolved around him.

"You should be more careful, you know? You don't even realize that you're being tricked."

Natasha couldn't be bothered to argue with him any further. She finished making the payment and left the hospital.

Nicole approached Matthew and asked with concern, "What's wrong, Matthew? Why do you look so upset?"

The two were at the hospital for medical exams as part of the pre-wedding preparations.

They were busy with the marriage back then and had only managed to find the time for it now.

"Nothing. Just ran into someone I didn't want to see."

...

"You were just discharged and haven't fully recovered, so don't worry about coming in for work just yet."

Amelia had always cared about the people working under her, especially for experienced talents like Natasha.

"I'm fine. I'm used to it by now. A few more days of rest won't really make any difference."noveldrama

Natasha then heard a light chuckle from Amelia, which piqued her curiosity.

"I was planning to tell you this after you got better, but I heard that Jack had taken

on a new project yesterday. I pulled some strings for you, and I heard that you've gotten a part in it too!"

Natasha was so happy upon hearing the news that she wanted to jump around on the spot.

But she began to hesitate after the initial excitement wore off. She began to wonder what would happen if Jack happened to recognize her as the one who tore off his shirt while they worked together.

Countless scenarios flashed across her mind, but none of them included a solution to her worries.

Amelia continued, "But the roles haven't been assigned yet. Wait for my update, okay?"

After hanging up the call, Natasha was still overjoyed. It was a big step to get closer to Jack, an opportunity created by her talents.

She finally felt that her hard work had paid off.

Under David's guidance, Natasha was performing at work as reliably as ever.

"Natasha, our teamwork is getting better and better. Can you clear up your schedule for me next month?"

David looked at her with anticipation, but Natasha herself was unsure about her schedule for the next month.

"Maybe you should ask Ms. Brown about that. I—"

He leaned in, interrupting her, "I already asked Amelia about it this morning. She agreed to it verbally but didn't sit down to discuss the details with me properly as your manager."

After hearing his complaint, Natasha just smiled. She figured Amelia was probably busy with matters related to her collaboration with Jack.

"How about this, Mr. Hogan? We can talk about the next project after we finish the one at hand. It's next month anyway. There's no need to rush."

She had to stall for time. She could not agree to work for both sides and ended up having to stand up for one of them.
