Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life

Chapter 1553

A woman was shouting at the top of her lungs, "I worked my fingers to the bone to

get you through school, and this is how you thank me? How can you be so shameless! Instead of focusing on your studies, you're stirring up all this trouble. Are you trying to mess up your life?"

Fiona knocked on the door and stepped inside. The woman gave Fiona a dismissive glance, not taking her seriously at all, and kept on railing at Keaton.

"Your school is completely irresponsible. I trusted you with my child, and look at what's happened? With tuition fees sky-high, you still let this slide? Aren't you supposed to be role models as teachers?" She shot Keaton a look that could cut glass.

Clearly, she was trying to escalate the situation, pinning the blame on the school for lax supervision.

Meanwhile, Janet stood off to the side, looking as meek as a lamb, nothing like the fierce demeanor she'd shown just moments earlier.

Keaton had initially hoped for a calm conversation, to have the woman take Janet home and sort out her withdrawal from school. But now, he just wanted both of them out of the office as soon as possible.

The room hung in a tense silence. Many teachers were visibly fuming at the woman's accusations but held their tongues.

Fiona stepped forward, her face unreadable, saying nothing.

Janet's eyes widened as she pointed at Fiona, erupting, "You witch! It's all your fault I'm in this mess!"

The woman furrowed her brows, glaring at Janet before turning her disdainful gaze to Fiona. "So, you're the one who sicced those street thugs on my daughter?"

"What do you mean, 'sicced them on your daughter'?" Fiona smirked slightly, giving her a pointed look. "It was your daughter who tried to get them to go after me. And if you don't believe it, I've got video proof."

Fiona's eyes carried a warning that made even the woman hesitate for a moment.

Quickly regaining her composure, the woman raised her hand to slap Fiona, but the slap never landed. Fiona caught it effortlessly in mid-air.

"Is this how your family deals with things?"

Trying to slap people and always missing. It's almost laughable.

"You little brat, let go of me!" The woman struggled but found she couldn't muster any strength, her face a storm of anger and frustration. "If you don't let go, I'll make you regret it!"

Fiona chuckled softly, letting go of the woman's hand without another word.

Keaton was the first to break the silence, "I think you both owe Fiona an apology. You've caused her a lot of trouble. She's choosing not to press charges, but if she did, you might find yourselves in legal trouble."

"Don't try to scare me. I wasn't raised to be intimidated," the woman retorted, though her eyes betrayed a hint of panic.

Keaton didn't waste any more words and played the video. Janet turned as pale as a ghost, never imagining the surveillance footage would be so damning.

If she ended up in juvenile detention, she'd be done for!noveldrama

She tugged at her mother's sleeve, finally working up the nerve to apologize to Fiona.

Still, she was expelled from school, not allowed the dignity of a voluntary withdrawal.

Janet stumbled out of the office in a daze, her mother dragging her by the ear, hurling insults all the way. Keaton, however, called out to Fiona before she left.
