Chapter 916
"How did we miss her?" The reporters scanned the area but couldn't spot Flora, leaving them puzzled.
"Well, Flora's situation is a bit unique. She stayed back on Lone Island and didn't come home with us," Mr. Tanner explained with a cough.
"Why didn't she return?" one of them asked.
"Was she detained by the folks on Lone Island?" another chimed in, anxiety clear in their voice.
Could it be that the people of Lone Island, impressed by Flora's remarkable talent, couldn't bring themselves to let her go?
"No... that's not it," Mr. Tanner said, his lips twitching at the outlandish theories. He quickly made up an excuse. What happened to Flora on Lone Island was best kept under wraps.
Luckily, the reporters didn't push further. Flora was their main interest, and with her absence, their enthusiasm noticeably dipped. Still, they carried on professionally, mainly interviewing Mr. Tanner and Felene. Felene's performance in the Medical League had been nothing short of spectacular.
"Now that your team from Austenberg has clinched the championship, you'll head to the Medical Institute for further studies after the new year. How does that feel?" one reporter asked.
"Thrilled, of course! Never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd make it to the Medical Institute! And I owe it all to Flora!" one of them exclaimed.
"Same here! No exaggeration, without Flora, winning the championship would've been impossible!" another added.
Everyone was buzzing with excitement, the atmosphere electric.
"Mr. Tanner, is that girl Joy? What happened to her?" someone noticed a girl in a wheelchair at the back, looking out of place amidst all the excitement.
"She... had an accident and hurt her hand," Mr. Tanner said reluctantly.
Initially, Joy had only injured her hand. Later, she attempted suicide by jumping from a building, survived, but her legs were left paralyzed.
An injured hand-doesn't that mean she can't become a doctor anymore?
"An injured hand means she can't hold a scalpel, right?" a reporter asked.
Mr. Tanner nodded, his patience thinning.
"Then, can she join you at the Medical Institute after the new year?"
Mr. Tanner, now visibly annoyed, shot the reporter a cold look. It was an obvious question, meant to stir things up. In medicine, hands are critical; with an injured hand, how could she possibly qualify for the Medical Institute?
The reporter, intimidated by Mr.
Tanner's glare, didn't dare to ask
more, feeling a mix of sympathy and
sadness People's fates can be so different; some return from overseas with accolades, ready to further their studies with bright futures ahead, while others... well, not so much. NôvelDrama.Org: text © owner.

With TM Club's top coaches
handling Adrian and the crew, Flora found herself with plenty of downtime. She didn't need to coach them,
n, just dropped by occasionally to check in. As the days passed, Adrian and the gang's racing skills rocketed.
"Flora!" Youth called out as Flora lounged in a chair, sipping her drink. He approached her, rubbing his hands together. "Got some free time to teach me? I've hit a plateau and can't seem to get past it!"
Andy, strolling by, caught the
conversation and gave Flora and Youth a curious glance. Youth asking Flora for help? Was he out of his mind? She was talented, sure, but teaching him? He was the reigning global racing champion, after all.
"Flora... please..." Youth pleaded with genuine humility.
Flora finished her drink and casually tossed the bottle to him. "Alright, get in the car."
