Chapter 982
She was absolutely fuming-ugh, Flora again! Was this woman out to sabotage her life on purpose or what? She'd almost been pushed out of the industry because of her before, and now, the moment she gets back, Flora snatches her opportunity away! Cecelia and Diego had been scratching their heads over why the director suddenly did a 180, but after hearing his explanation, they couldn't help but feel a swell of pride. I mean, come on, that's their leading lady! How incredible! How fierce! Even though she's not actively in the entertainment scene, her legend still echoes through it. "Alright, Cecelia, so it's agreed. We'll start in half a month. I'll have someone send the contract over to your agent soon. If you've got any demands, just let us know." Cecelia beamed, "Sure thing, Mr. Director."
The chat went smoothly, but Aisha ended up being the punchline of the day. Once outside, Cecelia couldn't help but marvel, "Wow, our leading lady is really something. She got me a role without even showing up!" Diego was bursting with pride too. "What's the big deal? It's just a role," Aisha snapped, already seething, and now Cecelia's words were like salt in her wounds. She couldn't help but think Cecelia was rubbing it in. "Yep, just a role," Cecelia said with a blinding smile. "But I got it, and you, unfortunately, are leaving empty-handed."
"Why're you calling me grandma?" Cecelia teased, pretending to clean her ears. She'd never been known for her patience. When she first crossed paths with Flora, they nearly came to blows. Was she supposed to be afraid of Aisha?
"Cecelia!" Aisha was furious.
Her unflinching attitude only made Aisha even angrier. "Would you have gotten this role without Henrik? Everyone knows you're close to him. Who knows how you ended up in his bed!" Aisha spat, not noticing Cecelia's eyes slowly filling with fire. "And what does Mr. Raul even see in you, you-"
Her words choked in her throat. A sharp slap echoed through the air. Cecelia rubbed her wrist, eyes locked on Aisha. "Wanna say that again?"
Insulting her was one thing, but dragging Henrik into it? That was crossing a line. She'd promised leading lady she'd steer clear of swearing, fighting, and losing cool trying her best to be a good girl But some people just begged for trouble.
"Cecelia, you actually slapped me!" Aisha was dumbfounded; no one had ever dared to hit her before!
"I've got nothing to fear, fancy a fight? Bring it on!" Cecelia rolled up her sleeves, the picture of confidence. A real spitfire.Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.
Aisha, the spoiled heiress, suddenly
lost her steam in front of Cecelia. She couldn't fight back, so she resorted to insults: "You're so vulgar! Let me tell you, Cecelia, without Mr. Raub you're nothing! Just a country bumpkin trying to act tough"
"Mr. Raul!" Aisha's agent, noticing Cecelia's shadow looming behind her, became flustered and urgently tugged at Aisha, signaling her to stop.
Hearing "Mr. Raul," Cecelia spun
around and saw Henrik approaching, looking every bit the gentleman he always was. Yet, his eyes, usually
warm with a hint of a smile, were
calm, maybe even a bit cold now.
"Mr. Raul!" Diego couldn't hide his excitement. Cecelia snapped back to reality and greeted him with a bright smile, "Mr. Raul, you're back!"
"Yeah." Henrik's gaze lingered on her for a moment before shifting to Aisha, his expression slightly frosty.
