Girl Get Rid Of That Jerk (Williams and Shawn)

Chapter 113

Shawn's words seemed to cling to Allison's thoughts like a stubborn melody, leaving her feeling all sorts of restless. So, the next day, when she went to the hospital to see Joshua, she wore a look that screamed 'lost in thought.'

“Allie, what's on your mind?" Joshua asked, noticing her distraction.

Allison fluttered her lashes, turning her head away as if trying to dodge his gaze. “Uh... what's the story with Sue?"

Joshua chuckled, his tone teasing. "Are you jealous?"noveldrama

Trying to play it cool, Allison puffed out her cheeks. "Jealous? Me? No way! You just never brought her up before, so I'm curious."

Thinking about that woman who tried to hurt Lizzy made Allison feel a mix of jealousy and anger. "Where'd you find such a nutcase? She's totally bonkers!"

Joshua gestured for her to come closer. "Allie, come here."

She obliged, sitting by his bedside. Joshua took her hand, his expression turning serious. "Sue and I were high school classmates. She was really into me back then, but I made it clear I wasn't interested. Then, we ended up at the same college, and she kept at it, but I never gave her any hope."

Allison looked down, pouting a little. “That's all?"

Joshua gently pinched her cheek. “That's all. We barely spoke, and we didn't even exchange numbers."

Allison paused for a moment before asking, “Then why did she stick around for so long? I mean, ten years, Joshua. That's a decade!"

Joshua shrugged, giving her a sheepish smile. “Beats me. Everyone knew I was cold towards her. We hardly exchanged more than a few words over the years."

Allison leaned in, playfully challenging him. “And how many words are we talking?”

Joshua laughed, “Oh, maybe five or six... okay, seven or eight.”

“What were you saying that needed so many words?” Allison teased, pretending to be all dramatic.

Joshua found her jealousy adorable, his eyes softening as he smiled. “Not much. Just a couple of rejections in high school. After that, we barely talked."

“Are you sure you didn't feel anything at all?” Allison asked, still a bit doubtful. “She is quite pretty."

“No,” Joshua said, looking at her with deep affection. “My heart's been spoken for a long time. No room for anyone else."

Allison asked, with a knowing smile, "Someone else? Who could that be?"

Joshua's eyes danced with amusement. "What do you think?”

Allison mumbled, "How would I know if you don't tell me?"

Joshua found her playful demeanor utterly charming, making his heart melt.

He couldn't help but smile, his voice light with laughter. “It's always been you. No one else.”

Allison turned her face away, trying to hide her blush. "She wanted to date you back in high school. I was just a kid then."

Surely, he couldn't have felt anything for her back then, right?

Joshua replied, "I wasn't really thinking about dating in high school."

At this, Allison's curiosity sparked. She met his gaze, her almond eyes wide with interest. "So, when did you start falling for me?"

Joshua thought back, "At first, I saw you like a little sister. When those feelings shifted, I honestly couldn't say."
