Goodbye, Mr. Regret

Chapter 362

"All of this is just wishful thinking on your part. You might believe your relationship is something extraordinary, earth-shattering even, but honestly, it has absolutely nothing to do with me. I'm busy and have no interest in listening to your pointless drama."

With a dismissive wave, Jessica turned on her heel and headed for the elevator.noveldrama

Sheila watched her walk away, mind churning-was Jessica truly this indifferent, or was it just an act?

Jessica's cool expression certainly seemed genuine.

But Timothy was such a good man-could she really let him go so easily?

No matter how she tried to convince herself, Sheila still had doubts.

If Jessica was refusing to even talk to her alone, she clearly cared about what was going on between Sheila and Timothy.

As long as she and Timothy maintained their closeness, Jessica would never forgive him.

With that thought, Sheila finally left.

Back at her apartment, Jessica settled at her desk and began reading through the script Mr. Smith had given her.

After all the delays, she finally had a chance to really dig into the material.

Time slipped by, and before she knew it, it was already noon.

Just then, her phone buzzed with a video call.

It was Carlisle.

Jessica quickly answered, propping up her phone. Carlisle greeted her and explained that their film was now in the dubbing phase. He was reaching out to theaters and working on marketing and investment.

"How much are you thinking for the marketing budget?"

"I really believe in this movie," Carlisle signed. "I'm thinking we put in half the production cost for promotion. I wanted to see what you think."

Both of them were fluent in sign language, their conversation a quick, seamless exchange of gestures.

"Everyone's poured so much effort

into this," Jessica replied, her hands moving confidently. "It's worth investing more in promotion if it mean@getting a good box office run. I still have about three millionleft-l can put that in."

Timothy had previously returned a total of six-point-six million to her, and Jessica had already invested five million of that into Carlisle's film.

Carlisle and his team had chipped in two million themselves, working as partners without taking any salaries. Altogether, the project's budget was close to ten million.

If they put in fifty percent of that for marketing, it would mean another five million.

"You've already invested so much,"

Carlisle signed back, a hint of concern. If you put in more, the risk will be huge. With the film nearly done, it'll be easier to find investors once people see what we've created. You shouldn't worry about this. Actually, I wanted to ask if you could help us reach out to some theater chains."

Jessica knew the film inside and out. She had full confidence in the project, and she desperately wanted it to succeed. If it did, it would be undeniable proof of the value of people with disabilities like them.

This was something she had wanted to achieve for a long time.

"It's fine-I'm not afraid of the risk. That money isn't doing me much good just

sitting there. I'll put in another one and a half million."

She was going to be on her own from now on. The small apartment cost her barely a hundred thousand, and she'd kept aside another four hundred thousand for her medical expenses and daily needs. Besides, she was still able to work Mr. Smith had already spoken to her about production fees-so there was no need to worry about money.

Jessica insisted on investing, and Carlisle had no choice but to accept.

After the call ended, Jessica thought of Vince. His background and reputation in the business world were almost on par with Timothy's-he'd have plenty of resources.

She was just about to call him when someone knocked at the door.

Only three people knew her address: Vince, Mr. Smith, and Herbert.

It had to be one of them.

Jessica went to open the door.

To her shock, it was Timothy.

Timothy-who was supposed to be bedridden-was here, hospital bed and all!

The head of the bed was cranked up so he could sit upright, his leg encased in a thick cast and his forehead wrapped in gauze.
