Her Hidden Crowns (Suzanne and Austin)

Chapter 404

These friends of Austin's seemed to be quite friendly toward him.

Suzanne lowered her coffee cup, then peered at Austin. She asked, "Won't you be bored keeping me company while I get styled? How about you go do what you need to do and then pick me up later?"

Even though Suzanne had never waited for anyone like this, she felt like Austin wasn't the type to wait for others.

Fixing his eyes on Suzanne, Austin said in a gentle tone, "No worries. You do you."

Suzanne was utterly surprised. But before she could even say anything, Lucas was done with his preparation work. Smiling, he came up to Suzanne and asked, "I'm ready, Suzanne. Shall we begin?"

She looked toward Lucas and nodded. "Sure."

Thinking that she would walk straight toward him, Lucas' jaw dropped when he saw her get to her feet and lean into Austin to give him a kiss on his lips right before his eyes.

Lucas widened his eyes in disbelief, staring at what he just witnessed. He was just a stylist who happened to be single. Why did he have to be attacked like this?

Most importantly, not only did Austin not push Suzanne away, but he even reached out to hold her by her waist. Lucas couldn't believe his eyes!

Was Austin still that frigid and aloof man he knew? Could Austin maintain that arrogant image of his?noveldrama

Lucas felt like his worldview was being turned upside down.

Suzanne took a step back. Curling her lips slightly, she said, "Thank you, Mr. Hall."

Despite his busy schedule, Austin was actually willing to stay and keep her company. He was doing this all for her sake. Deep down, she was moved.

The frigidity in Austin's eyes vanished and was replaced with a gaze of gentleness and joy. In a tender voice, he prompted, "Go on."

Suzanne nodded and smiled. Then, she straightened her back and walked toward Lucas.

Standing before the makeup mirror, Lucas' hands shook even as he held onto the makeup brushes. From time to time, he would glance over at Austin, who was behind him.

Directing her attention toward Lucas, Suzanne furrowed her brows slightly. Feeling a little perplexed, she asked, "Are you feeling unwell, Mr. Jensley?"

Lucas leaned into Suzanne and asked in a voice that was so soft that only she could hear him, "Suzanne, is Austin possessed?"

Suzanne raised a brow, and the tinge of worry in her heart dissipated. All was good as long as Lucas wasn't unwell.

Feeling curious, she asked, "Why do you ask?"

Lucas had lots to say on this topic. As he picked up a wet wipe from the table to cleanse Suzanne's face of any excess sebum, he explained, "Austin is usually so frigid that he looks like he's allergic to women."

In an instant, Suzanne's interest was piqued. Smiling, she prompted, "Tell me more."

Lucas started to apply moisturizer on Suzanne's face. At the same time, he said, "There was once when

woman bumped into him by accident, and he almost kicked her out of reflex."

Talking about this reminded Lucas of how everyone in their private room at that time had been stunned by what had happened. They thought that the woman had ufterior motives or was stealing some trade secret.

Only after asking about it did they find out that it was because she had touched Austin's hand by accident.

Afraid that Austin would hear him, Lucas leaned even nearer to Suzanne. In a quiet voice, he continued, "After that, he sanitized that particular hand and even showered a few times."

Suzanne raised her brow again. An incident like that actually happened?

After being together with Austin for such a long time, she hadn't noticed him being repulsed by women at all.

Studying Suzanne with an implicit look in his eyes, Lucas explained, "That's why I suspect that he's possessed. I can't believe that he actually allowed you to kiss him!"

A smirk came across Suzanne's face as she subconsciously directed her gaze toward Austin's reflection in the mirror.

While working on some documents on the phone in his hands with his head down, Austin said in a dull voice, "Lucas, you're full of nonsense."
