His Cure

Do you think they’re dating?

.

She bats her lashes involuntarily and her hands squeezed up in their slippery surface.

“I.. who.. are you?”she stutters shakily.

The person chuckles and breathed out heavily.

“I was just checking your temperature. I think you’re good to go.”Melinda chimed.

Beatrice slopped down her shoulders and took a long breath in.

“Wait, were you startled?”Melinda asks, quickly removing the two fingers she had placed on her neck away.

“I.. I was. For real, I thought.. I thought it was a gun.. I..”she breathed heavily and glanced back.

Melinda laughed.

“I apologize for getting you frightened.”she said.

Beatrice nodded gently.

Melinda darts her gaze to her food.

“You cooked?. You should have called me or others to come do that. Why would you stress yourself?”she frowns.

“It’s.. nothing. I am good.”

“Nah, certainly nay. You aren’t. You are getting wed soon and what you should dedicate your time to is your looks, dresses and all. Come on, baby girl.. I would have prepared tons of this if you told me it is the one you’re craving for.”Melinda sighed.

Beatrice’s stomach tightened.

Well, she cannot do that since she is not a real bride.

“Do you want anything else?. Oh, you want me to make you a quick soup?”

Beatrice puckered her lips and shook her head.

“No, I’m.. great.”

Melinda rolled her eyes and placed her hands on her hip lines.

“Do you even know what my soup is called?.”

Beatrice twinkled her eyes and exhaled a smile out.

“No. What is it called?”she pretended to be curious.

Melinda is being super nice and she doesn’t wanna talk bad at her or make her feel bad like she did hours ago when she brought her a coffee.

“Good – luck soup. Gregory had one last year in this exact month and now, he’s found the love of his life. I made one for one of our girls here who’s boyfriend ended things with her, and guess what?, baby bee – bee?”

Beatrice bursts into laughter.

Her stories sounds like a legend.

But.. baby bee – bee?

“Alright, I don’t know.. but baby bee – bee?.. that got me.”she covered her mouth with her palm as she convulsed with laughter.

Somehow, she forgot about the woes of her life that moment.

Melinda pressed her lips together and cocked her head to the side.

“You don’t like that?. How about baby bee – reece?”she gave her another bizarre nickname.

Beatrice shook her head.

“I would just go with bee – bee even though that doesn’t feels right.”she chuckled.

“Everything is right, darling. Now, guess what happened after that girl had my soup.”

“Hmmm.. well, her boyfriend called her.. the next day?”

“You got it!”Melinda snapped her fingers.

“So, why are you not having my soup again?”she squints her eyes. All rights © NôvelDrama.Org.

“Well… I.. absolutely have.. I mean, I’ve found the love of my life so what else?”she grits her teeth on the ‘love of my life’ part.

“If you have my soup today, Bee – bee, by this time next year, you would have delivered your baby. Trust the process.”she let’s out.

Beatrice’s eyes rolled up in horror.

She shook her head vigorously.

“No, no, no.. that won’t do.”she blinked her lashes fastly and clutched to her plate, trying to slip out of Melinda’s sight

“Oh, I see.. you want to have him to yourself first and enjoy him fully before a child steps in.. I get, i get, I totally get.”Melinda nodded repeatedly.

Beatrice nipped at her bottom nip and gave a quick nod.

On a second thought..

“Maybe I should have that though. I have something going on and I wish it would come to an end successfully.”

Since her marriage with Gregory is just for a year, maybe she could take her soup in hopes that, by the current time in the coming year, things would have ended smoothly between them.

“Attagirl. Go back and wait. I’ll bring it to you.”

“I.. will be in my room then.”she carried her plate.

“Sure.”

She went to snatch a juice from the fridge and slammed it close.

“Eat your food, let all the worries in your head go away. Don’t think about anything but just your wedding and your wedding.”Melinda advised.

“The reporters doesn’t want to make that possible though. Fake news everywhere.”she mumbled under her breath.

“Don’t mind those people always poking their dirty noses in people’s businesses. Ooof! How much I hate those people. They should understand the limit sometimes.”

Beatrice flicked her hair back and chuckled.

She really loathes them a lot too, hun?

She struts out of the kitchen and up to her room.

She sat down on the bed and started eating.

Her phone buzzes on the table by the bed and she stood up to get it.

“Hi, Zack.”

“I assume you’ve been crying?. Everything has been cleared now so don’t worry. No need to cry anymore.”

He must have detected that from the sound of her voice.

“Yes. Thank you. I’m..”

“Actually, Amelia helped us to solve it so, no thanks to me.”

“Huh?. Amelia?”she scoffs.

Amelia helped them?.

Isn’t she fighting with Gregory?.

“Uhm, yeah. You guys are close?”

“Not a chance, huhuhu”she laughed.

“But thank you anyways, Zack. You… for your assuring words, I thank you.”

“What are friends for?”Zack chortled at the other end.

“Bye then.”he added and hung up.

Beatrice sighed and went back to sit down on the chair in the room.

She doesn’t know why she wants the conversation to keep going.

**

The landline in Gregory’s office rang and he looked at it then breathed out before grabbing the receiver.

“Here is what I..”

“You don’t report to me on phone, Mr Harry.”he scoffs and returned the receiver back to the dial.

Minutes later, Harry strides in with a displeased look

Gregory stomach churns in happiness.

For this, he does not mind being petty.

“I..”

Gregory raised his finger up, shutting Harry up.

“Talk to me with etiquette, Mr Harry. Give the respect I am giving you back to me.”

Harry rolled his eyes and huffed.

“We found him.”he let’s out.

“We?, not you?. You absolutely cannot let others know about this, you know.”Gregory glanced at him quickly.

“We: Me and the means I used in finding it. He is..”

“Wait, which means?”Gregory placed his hand under his chin.

Harry’s face wrinkled up in a dirty look.

Gregory smirked before feigning surprise.

“Oh, okay. I get what you’re trying to say. Who is he?”

“Zack.”Harry revealed and watched as Gregory’s eyes balls rolled to the side in shock.

Now, it was his turn to smirk.

“Do you feel jealous?”he asked the same question he’d asked a while ago that made him exasperated.

Gregory scoffs.

“Why would I be?. Do you think they are dating?”he looked at him.

“Yes.. and they look so good together.”Harry lied just to fuel his anger.

Revenge is sweet when it get a taste of its own medicine.

“Don’t tell me you’ve started catching up intimate feelings for her in your heart?”
