Chapter 1132: Afraid of Me Now?

In the end, it was Lane who drove Bonnie home.

"Lorraine, you don't have much else to do at home, so why don't you come along and have some fun

with us? You can experience the nightlife of your hometown," Bonnie said, lightly pushing Lorraine

towards Haider as she spoke. "Big brother, I'm leaving Lorraine in your care."

Haider glanced at Lorraine. "Don't worry."

Lorraine looked at Bonnie and thought, even if you didn't suggest it, I wouldn't dare leave. After all, if I

do leave, someone is going to break my legs!

With that in mind, Lorraine maintained her composure. "You go ahead and take the kids home. Don't

worry about me; I can take care of myself."

Bonnie acknowledged with an "mm-hmm." "Let's catch up tomorrow."

Lorraine nodded. "Alright."

As Lane left, he nodded at Haider, conveying a message that probably only Haider and Lane

understood.

After Bonnie and Lane got in the car and drove away, the remaining group changed the scene.

Due to Bonnie's instructions, Lorraine naturally got into Haider's car.

As Lorraine looked at Haider sitting in the back seat, she moved to get in the front passenger seat.

Before she could make a move, Haider reached behind her and pulled her collar, dragging her over.

"Sit in the back."

Eduard was surprised to witness Haider treating a woman like this. He glanced at Haider's face, his

memory of Haider always being well-mannered and polite, regardless of who he interacted with.

But at this moment, seeing Haider grab a young girl's collar like this, Eduard felt like he was looking at

a fake Haider.

Haider, however, was nonchalant. He met Eduard's gaze and asked, "Do you like what you see?"

Eduard gasped and quickly turned away, not wanting to intrude on their privacy.

Lorraine had no choice but to bend and sit in the back seat.

Just as she was about to close the car door, someone grabbed her hand. "Get in."

Lorraine couldn't help but protest, "Can't you get in from the other side?"

Haider said calmly, "This is my car. If I want to get in from that side, I will."

Lorraine muttered, "..."

Eduard mumbled, "..."

Haider got into the car directly. Lorraine hadn't even had a chance to move when Haider pulled her

over. "Sit next to me."

Eduard, even if he was slow, sensed that something was different.

After a few seconds of hesitation, Eduard raised the partition, prepared to turn a deaf ear to what was

happening in the back.

Lorraine looked at the partition rising and felt uneasy.

"Now afraid of me? Weren't you quite fearless before?" Haider leaned against his seat, his tone cool.

Lorraine glanced at him, momentarily feeling that this person was somehow different from the one in

her memory. She couldn't quite put her finger on what exactly had changed.

The car drove steadily on the wide road, and there was no more conversation between the two in the

backseat.

Eduard couldn't hear what was happening, but that didn't stop his curiosity.

Taking advantage of a red light, Eduard sneaked several glances back.

Apart from them getting close, nothing else seemed to be happening.

At an unknown number of times, when Eduard sneakily looked back, Haider knocked on the partition.

Eduard put down the partition, turned to Haider, and asked, "Mr. Hughes, what's the matter?"

Haider looked at him. "What were you looking at?"

Eduard was stunned, chuckling awkwardly. "I wasn't looking at anything."

"Curious?"

Eduard's head shook like a rattle-drum. "Not curious."

Haider chuckled softly. When he saw Eduard stop the car again at the next red light, he softly called out

to him.

Eduard naturally turned to look at the backseat.

"Look carefully," Haider said.

Then Haider reached out and grabbed the back of Lorraine's head, pulling her towards him. He then

leaned in and kissed Lorraine.

This action took both Eduard and Lorraine off guard.

The kiss was gentle and brief. Eduard decidedly wasn't going to stare, so he quickly turned his head Property © 2024 N0(v)elDrama.Org.

away and raised the partition once again.

But Haider didn't just want Eduard to see; he also wanted Lorraine to understand his intentions.

The kiss didn't last long, and all of Lorraine's struggles were ignored by Haider.

When they finally pulled apart, both of them were slightly breathless.

Lorraine blushed, her eyes watery as she stared at him.

Haider, in a great mood, looked at her openly. "Want another one?"

Lorraine almost let out a curse, quickly turning her head away.

Haider murmured, "I told you a long time ago, once you return to Manches City, you can't leave again.

Even if the king of heaven comes, it won't matter."

"Aren't you afraid my dad will beat you up?"

"Maybe I would have been scared back then, but do you really think Uncle Kipling can beat me now?"

Lorraine almost exploded with anger. "How can you be so shameless, even wanting to lay a hand on

an elder!"

Haider was speechless. "I didn't actually do anything."

"Your words just now clearly showed your intentions."

"I haven't actually done anything yet."

"You had the intention."

Haider chuckled, reaching over and pulling her closer. "Between beating up Uncle Kipling and beating

up someone else, you know who I'd rather beat up, don't you?"

Lorraine was taken aback, turning to look at him. Her eyes seemed to ask, "Are you really planning to

beat me up?"

Haider met her gaze and then lowered his eyes slightly, leaning in again.

But this time it was a fleeting kiss, just a brush of the lips. "Don't worry, I couldn't bring myself to do it."

Lorraine felt awkward, shifting in her seat. "Could you please not get so close to me?"

"Can't."

Lorraine intended to struggle, but she knew if she did, Haider would undoubtedly cross boundaries.

So Lorraine stayed still.

When they arrived, Allan and the others were already drinking.

Seeing the two entering, Evan looked at Haider. "We thought you were on a beastly rampage, doing

something outrageous with the girl."

Haider glanced at Evan. "If you have any ideas, should I have Eduard arrange something for you?"

Evan waved him off. "No thanks. I'm enjoying being carefree by myself. Having a woman around is too

much trouble."

Allan kicked Evan. "Don't make yourself sound so noble. Maybe nobody wants you."

Evan wanted to swear but held back, considering that Reed was sitting obediently beside Allan.

"Fine..."

Allan raised an eyebrow, looking at Haider. "Why were you guys so slow?"

"He said we were doing something outrageous," Haider said.

Allan unexpectedly looked at Lorraine's face and then laughed. "Miss K

ipling, right? Come over and sit with my Reed. Haider isn't a good person; it's better to keep your

distance."
