I Once Married You (Harper and Benjamin)

Chapter 94

Harper Has No Boyfriend

"Frank, I'm fine. You don't need to say anything. I want to be quiet for a while."

"Okay, then I'm going out. You can stay by yourself for a while. If you have anything, tell me at any time. I will always be on your side."

"Okay."

She forced a smile.

In the evening, Harper and Isaac appeared on time at the host's house for the birthday party, which was located in a villa in the wealthy people of Mayby. Most of the rich and powerful people in Mayby lived there.

Isaac's arrival was received personally by the birthday party host, Simmons Gilbert. They greeted each other for a long time. Even Harper, as his female companion, received distinguished treatment.

"Mr. Whitman and Ms. Mitchell, enjoy the party. There are many guests tonight, so I hope you can forgive me for the poor hospitality."

Isaac nodded lightly and said it was fine. As soon as he finished speaking, Simmon secretary quickly approached him and said, "Mr. Gilbert, Mr. Martin from the Martin Group is here." "Mr. Martin?"

Simmons was pleasantly surprised.

Then he quickly said to Isaac, "Mr. Whitman, I'll have someone take you two to have a seat first, and I'll come back to have a drink with you later."

"Okay, Mr. Gilbert, please do as you wish."

Simmons left quickly. Harper saw him walking towards a pair of men and women from afar through the crowd. She watched the man and heard Isaac's voice. "Benjamin is here too. What a coincidence."

"We are all from the same circle. It's normal."

"This birthday party is not worthy of his status. Didn't you see how much Mr. Gilbert reacted just now?" Isaac glanced at him lightly, looked away, and then asked Harper, "Shall we go and have a seat?" "Okay." Harper withdrew her gaze. Just before she could withdraw it, she locked eyes with the man.

The man in a gray suit looked at her with scrutiny.

Harper followed Isaac to the rest area. He was a nice male companion, taking care of her and accompanying her throughout the process. Many people recognized him, but Isaac was too cold to be approached. Some people took the initiative to say hello to him, but he only responded weakly.

Harper couldn't help but laugh at him. "Are you all over the place when people talk to you?"

Isaac glanced her lightly and said nothing.

Harper laughed even more happily.

At this time, Lauren walked slowly holding Benjamin's arm. The voice had already sounded before they arrived.

"What are you talking about, Mr. Whitman and Harper? What makes you so happy? Can you share with me and Benjamin?"

Harper and Isaac looked over. Her smile instantly disappeared and only a cold expression remained.

Isaac's expression was still gentle, but he nodded indifferently.

Lauren continued softly, "Benjamin, have you noticed that Mr. Whitman favors Harper? As long as Harper is around, he will always be nice to her. I have to wonder if he likes her?"

Harper narrowed his eyes and glanced at Lauren sharply. "Ms. Davis, why don't you speak louder so everyone present can know?"Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g

It was true that the gentler the woman, the more terrifying she was.

Lauren immediately aggravated, with a face of innocence and at a loss for words. She explained softly, "How can you say that about me? I didn't say anything. I just said you are on good terms with Mr. Whitman."

Harper sneered, "Are we on good terms? Why are you so concerned about my affairs?"

She said unceremoniously.

Isaac said calmly, "Ms. Davis, Harper doesn't have a boyfriend yet. Your words will cause misunderstanding, so stop talking about it."

Lauren said embarrassedly, "I'm sorry, Mr. Whitman. I misunderstood."

"Will a misunderstanding be enough? Then criminals only need to apologize when they commit a crime, and there's no need for the police."

Harper thought that not everything could be solved with a "misunderstanding".

Isaac looked at Harper and smiled softly, "Harper, if you continue, Ms. Davis should cry." Then he looked at Lauren indifferently and said, "Ms. Davis, Harper is spoiled. You shouldn't mind, right?" His words made Lauren unable to argue.

Lauren subconsciously looked at Benjamin next to her, but he stared at Harper from the beginning to the end. She was hateful and annoyed but could do nothing.

The atmosphere gradually became awkward before Benjamin slowly said, "Mr. Whitman, shall we have a drink together?"

"Okay." Isaac smiled.

The two men each held a glass of red wine in their hands, while Lauren and Harper sat quietly on the side.

Even though Benjamin and Isaac were not familiar with each other, they had plenty of topics to talk about. They were knowledgeable and could chat about anything, so they communicated smoothly. But the person who felt most uncomfortable throughout the process was Harper because Benjamin kept staring at her.

Harper couldn't bear it and said softly, "I'm going to the bathroom."

"OK."

Isaac nodded and then subconsciously looked at Benjamin.

Similarly, Benjamin also looked at Isaac.

They looked at each other and Isaac took the initiative to ask, "Are you confused?"

"Not really," Benjamin said lightly.

Isaac took a sip of wine and then said with a smile, "I have studied psychology, and I can tell a person's thoughts from his expression."

"Oh? Can you read my thoughts?"

"Not necessarily. After all, it is most difficult to guess the thoughts of a man like you."

The two spoke profoundly, and Lauren couldn't understand. She directly asked, "Are you so powerful? Can you tell me what Benjamin is thinking?" She looked at Benjamin again and said expectantly, "Benjamin, why don't you just let him guess?"

Benjamin said nothing.

Isaac said, "Ms. Davis, this requires the consent of the person in question. If he disagrees, I can't talk nonsense. Otherwise, it's against professional ethics." Lauren's face turned pale because she always felt that Isaac was being sarcastic.

She nodded, not daring to say anything more.

Benjamin narrowed his eyes and smiled, "Tell me what am I thinking?"

"Do you really want me to say it?"

"Of course."

Isaac smiled lightly, "You're bothered by a female with whom you have a close relationship."

The person who reacted most after Isaac's words was Lauren. She looked at Benjamin almost unconsciously, her eyes filled with disbelief and many questions. But she didn't ask anything.

Instead, she kept thinking in the back of her mind about who the female who was close to him was.

Was she Harper?

No.

Harper was not worthy.

She clenched her hands tightly into fists to hide her inner uneasiness.

Benjamin didn't answer because his cell phone rang.

He picked up the phone and looked at it, then said, "Excuse me, Mr. Whitman."

"Suit yourself."

Benjamin took his mobile phone, left the rest area, and walked out.

Lauren stared at his back and finally couldn't help but ask, "Mr. Whitman, do you like Harper?"

Harper had just finished washing her hands and was about to take out some paper to dry them before she went out when a strong figure quickly came in from outside and pressed her whole body against the sink.

The familiar scent and familiar face caught her off guard.

Both of them looked at each other. Benjamin smiled lightly and exuded charm. He whispered, "Isaac said that you don't have a boyfriend. Who am I? You're still reluctant to tell him about our affairs?"
