I Spy With My Secret Eyes

Chapter 208

Chapter 208

With her pretty eyes, Sienna stared at Oliver for a long time before suddenly bursting into laughter. “You, oh, you. I was just scaring you! You’re quite naive and gullible, aren’t you?”

Hearing that, Oliver breathed a sigh of relief and pulled Sienna over to pinch her face. “Why are you scaring me? I’m a bit timid, you know.”

Sienna snorted. “You, timid? I think you have a lot of nerve. Forget it. I won’t talk any more nonsense with you.”

As Sienna chattered and chattered, she soon ran out of things to talk about, and she sighed faintly before saying, “Well, your boss, Hailey, is actually quite pitiful. She hasn’t had a mother since childhood, and now, her father is gone. She’s all alone abroad without any family, Oliver.” After a pause, Sienna suddenly looked up at him and suggested, “How about we take her back?”

Oliver was stunned.

A woman’s heart was deep and unpredictable. Nobody could decipher what it was that a woman wanted to do.

After saying that, Sienna also realized how her words sounded a little insincere. Hence, she diverted to a different topic and asked Oliver, “How is Yancy?”

Upon bringing up Yancy, Oliver’s thoughts were split as if he were stuck at a crossroads. He nodded and said, “I haven’t figured out the cause of the illness yet. Uncle Frederick’s mother-in-law, Melinda, asked for someone to bring a priest. She thought that Yancy was being possessed by evil spirits and wanted that priest to perform an exorcism.”

“Damn, that doesn’t make…” Sienna blurted without thinking. However, quickly, she recalled all the inconceivable things that happened when she was with Oliver. Those inconceivable things did not even make sense, either. Just as the word “sense” was about to escape her mouth, she swallowed it back. “I’ve also heard about Yancy.” Sienna furrowed her brows as she spoke and thought, “I have never heard nor seen a situation like this before. Anyway, I think it’s weird and abnormal!”

“That is definitely not normál!” Oliver thought, but he still did not verbalize what he was confused about. After all, he could not take it seriously and would not tell her if there was no conclusive evidence.

Seeing Oliver remain silent, Sienna asked him, “What’s that in your hand?”

“Did you mean this?” he answered. Oliver held up the crystal in his hand and then handed it to Sienna.

She took it in her hands and saw that it was a crystal with some transparency. She thought it was a gift from Oliver, so she looked at it carefully.

The crystal felt cool and smooth on her fingers. It seemed to be transparent

inside, but as she looked at it, Sienna suddenly saw that there appeared to be a trace of fog in the crystal.

The fog in the crystal seemed like it was real. It was subtly flowing and changing. “Surely, it inust be an extremely expensive crystal?” Sienna thought. Oliver was not short of money. If he were to give her a gift, it must be expensive and of good quality. However, her eye for authenticating materials and their quality was not comparable to Oliver’s, so she could not tell whether the crystal was of good or bad quality. Despite that, it was fine to appreciate the crystal’s details. When Sienna looked at the crystal

carefully, suddenly, the fog in it morphed into what seemed like an extremely strong vortex with immense power that sucked things in whole. It consumed her vision and mind. It was as if various scenes had abruptly emerged within the fog. Then, a voice sounded in Sienna’s head. The voice was profound in a way that it seemed to penetrate the depths of her soul.

Since Oliver handed the crystal to Sienna, he had been thinking about when or how to meet Howard. He was not sure how Wayne’s and Simon’s search for Howard was going either since the duo had not reported anything back to him yet. Furthermore, it would be better if Sienna did not meet Yancy while the former was pregnant. No matter what, he felt that the situation involving Yancy felt too odd and eerie, and he did not want anything to latch on to Sienna. “Sienna, you’d better go home and have a rest. I’ll have someone take you home,” Oliver said after thinking it over, but Sienna did not answer him. Her gaze was still looking down, fixated on the crystal. “Sienna…” Oliver called out again and tugged her hand.

Sienna looked up. Her eyes were filled with confusion before she looked at him and exclaimed, “How much money do you want? I’ll give you however much you want for this!”

“What money?” Oliver asked, feeling shocked. It felt like something was not quite right.

Sienna added, “The cost for Yancy’s treatment… I’ll pay for it. Just tell me how much.”

Oliver was stunned again. He wondered what had happened to Sienna.

After a moment of stupor, Oliver held her face in his hands and stared into her eyes. “Sienna, have a good, clear look here. I’m Oliver. I’m Oliver. Why would you have to give money to contribute to Yancy’s treatment costs?”

Sienna insisted, “Give an estimate, Oliver. I’ll pay for Yancy’s treatment.”

Oliver waved his hand in front of Sienna’s eyes and repeated, his voice louder, “Sienna, can you look closely and see who I am? Look at me!”

Sienna looked at him and still insisted, “Give me an estimated cost. However much it costs to treat Yancy, I’ll give to you.”

Oliver was so shocked that his hair stood on end. If Sienna was not joking with him, then something was truly wrong. She was fine just now, so he did not

understand how something could go wrong all of a sudden. Oliver’s thoughts raced through his head. Seeing the crystal still in Sienna’s hands, he hurriedly snatched it away. When he pulled it to himself, he caught sight of what was in the crystal. He saw the faint fog within it. Subconsciously, he felt uncomfortable at the sight of it and sensed danger. All of a sudden, the Book of Immortality’s aura rushed into the crystal without reason or warning, and the faint fog disappeared in an instant.

Sienna was still confused and repeated, “Tell me the estimated cost. The cost for Yancy’s treatment… I’ll pay for it. No matter how much it is.”

Oliver grabbed her hand and used the Book of Immortality’s aura to inspect her. He sensed that Sienna’s body had hints of some faintly negative energy, but the book did not detect anything.

“There’s something wrong with that crystal!” Oliver thought. He instantly decided that the crystal was not the main cause of the problem. Rather, it was the fog in it that was the cause.

When he saw the fog, he suddenly fell into a trance. However, the Book of Immortality’s aura interrupted and cleared away the fog and his trance.

Just before this, he did not pay too much attention to it, so the fog in the crystal had not been removed completely. Then, Sienna took it, and with just one look at it, something went wrong.

“The problem is the fog itself!” Oliver thought. Since his trance was interrupted previously, naturally, he did not know what would happen if it was not. Yet, seeing what happened to Sienna, he quickly understood. Had it not been for the Book of Immortality’s aura that stopped his trance, his situation would have been like Sienna’s now. She was making it very clear that she would pay anyone who could treat Yancy, no matter how much it would cost. Even if it were Oliver entranced instead of Sienna, the former would have paid any amount that was brought up by the person treating Yancy, even if it was a ludicrous amount. All of a sudden, Oliver came to a realization-Howard wanted his money. Unexpectedly, Oliver linked something else together.. “Does Yancy’s illness have anything to do with Howard?”

If it had anything to do with Howard, then this situation would be terrifying.

To put it simply, this was definitely a very deep conspiracy. First of all, Howard had investigated all of Oliver’s relationships with his relatives and knew that he would be willing to fork out money for Yancy.
