Chapter 2197 Back to the Zelinsky Residence

“Alright,” Emmanuel responded with a firm nod.

He thought, Things are finally coming together. If we stick to the plan, Teddy’s reign at the Chamber of Commerce will soon be over. Once he’s out of the way, we can use the Chamber to rally support for Ethan and tie everything up neatly. Still, he reminded himself, Even if things seem calm on the surface, we can’t let our guard down. Our rivals won’t hesitate to play dirty.

Meanwhile, Magnus finally stepped off the plane at the airstrip after Emmanuel and his group had left.

“Magnus, why didn’t you meet with Emmanuel?” Hattie asked, lingering behind to greet him.

“No point. Why put myself through something I don’t want to deal with?” Magnus replied, a faint smile tugging at his lips.

Hattie could hear the lingering sadness in his voice. His heartbreak was evident, a reminder of a relationship that didn’t work out.

“Magnus… I’m sorry,” she apologized softly.

He stopped and looked at her, his smile a little warmer “Why?”

“If it weren’t for me, things with Claudette might’ve turned out differently,” she admitted.

Magnus shrugged, brushing off her guilt. “I made my own choices. It’s on me for being naïve and handling things the wrong way. I just have to live with it.”

Hattie gently squeezed his hand. “Well, I know you’ll learn from it and come back stronger.”

Magnus pushed his glasses up and nodded confidently. No doubt about that. For now, let’s set all that aside. We’re back in Zovince, and it’s time to cut ties with the Zelinsky family once and for all.”

Hattie’s expression mirrored his resolve. “Let’s do it.”

A sleek black Mercedes–Benz rolled up as they exited the terminal, and Blake stepped out, limping slightly.

Magnus raised an eyebrow. “Seriously, Blake? A Benz? Since when did you start spending big? Don’t tell me you’ve ditched your habit of spending on all those needy women.” noveldrama

Blake grinned, flashing a set of perfectly aligned teeth. Hey, people change.”

Magnus smirked. “Wow, we haven’t seen each other for a bit, and now you’ve got shiny new teeth and a prosthetic eye? What’s next, a full–on cyborg, upgrade?

Blake laughed. “Nah, people change. Your dad finally paid me what he owed, so I treated myselfa car, a dentist, and even a house in Yeringham.”

“You’re settling in Yeringham now?” Hattie asked with a curious smile.

“Yep! Got a son to think about–time for this old cripple to step up and raise him right. Sure, Abellyn’s got his flaws, but let’s be real–I’m no saint either,” Blake replied, scratching the back of his head.

Hattie chimed in, “That’s great to hear! Once this is over, I’ll send you some money to ensure your family

Blake lit up. “Thank you, Ms. Hattie!”

Without missing a beat, he added, “Don’t worry, I’m done wasting money on needy women. It’s all about my family now… and dealing with some unfinished business.”

Magnus chuckled. “Talking about family now, huh? Makes it awkward to drag you into more Zelinsky

drama.”

Blake waved him off. “Come on, this is my job. How else could I justify taking Ms. Hattie’s money? Besides, the Zelinsky family isn’t as intimidating as they used to be. With Maxwell and Birch gone, thanks to Emmanuel, they don’t have much power left. Who knows? They might even roll out the red carpet for you.”

“Not interested,” Magnus stated flatly, climbing into the car.

Blake shook his head, grinning as he turned to Hattie. “See? Still as proud as ever.”

Hattie laughed. “Hop in the car. Our final guy’s already here.”

Blake glanced over and spotted a large figure jogging toward them. “Quintus? The big guy’s here too? Looks like my workload just got lighter!”

Hattie teased, “I thought you were glued to Mackenzie, not running around handling other business.”

Quintus grinned as he approached. “I left Mackenzie in Emmanuel’s hands for now. Got more pressing matters to deal with, but don’t worry–I’ll reclaim my spot soon enough.”

Hattie just shook her head at his usual antics while Blake rolled his eyes and muttered, “What a clown. Always the big talker.”

“What was that?” Quintus teased, throwing an arm around his shoulder.

Blake replied slyly, “Oh, nothing. I just said we should hurry up and save your dad. If we don’t, he might be shipped off to the battlefield after the presidential election.”

“That d*mn Zelinsky family! This time, I’m not letting them off so easily!” Quintus growled as he climbed into the car, his energy

unshaken.

With that, they piled into the car and headed for the Zelinsky Residence.

The Zelinsky Residence loomed ahead, a place that Magnus and Hattie remembered as a maze of secrets and danger. Breaking free from its grip had once seemed impossible, but Emmanuel’s recent moves in Zovince had shaken the family’s once–unshakable foundation.

As they pulled up, Blake and Quintus led the way to the entrance, but they were stopped by guards.

“Who goes there?” a man with a sharp mustache barked stepping forward. His expression hardened when he recognized Blake. “You again?”

Blake grinned and stepped aside. “Not just me this time Look who’s here.”

The butler, Rudy Herbert, emerged to see the commotion. His eyes widened when he saw Hattie and Magnus. “Ms. Hattie? And… who’s this?

“Rudy, don’t tell me you don’t recognize me. Surely, you know my voice,” Magnus asked, adjusting his

Rudy froze, his expression shifting to shock as he studied the familiar face and voice. “Mr. Magnus… it’s really you? You’re alive?”

Magnus smirked. “What can I say? I always keep my word–Maxwell had to go first.”

“Y–yes, of course!” Rudy stammered, bowing slightly. As the family’s butler, he wouldn’t dare show anything but respect to Magnus, even amidst the Zelinsky family’s internal chaos–especially now that Maxwell was undeniably gone.

“Who should I announce you to, Mr. Magnus?” Rudy asked quickly.

Magnus didn’t hesitate. “Who else? I’m here for Father. Do you think I came back just to make small talk with you?”

“Ah, no, no! Of course not! Mr. Magnus, you have quite a sense of humor. I’ll inform him right away. Please, come in,” Rudy replied with a nervous chuckle, stepping aside to let them through.

Magnus gave a slight nod, and with that, he and his group strode into the residence. Years of grudges and unresolved tensions were about to be confronted, and today would be the day the score was finally settled.
