“Ghea, forgive me, Papa couldn’t be there to protect you.”
Maxwell hugged his daughter, who was now sitting on the bed in her room. He was extremely saddened by the recent tragedy that had befallen his daughter.
“Why apologize? It’s not Papa’s fault. It’s just a stroke of bad luck. The most important thing is that Ghea is okay.”
“But, Papa is really sad to hear about your accident. Papa is worried that something bad might happen to you.”NôvelDrama.Org owns this.
Ghea smiled, gently stroking her father’s hand, trying to reassure and calm him.
“Ghea is fine, Papa. No need to worry, let alone think about anything bad happening. I promise not to make Papa sad like this again.”
After ensuring that his daughter was fine, Maxwell and Mario decided to go down to the first floor while chatting with their son-in-law.
“Randy, thank you for keeping Papa and Mario informed about Ghea’s condition.”
Since he arrived, Maxwell appeared anxious and worried. He was undoubtedly shocked by the recent unfortunate events. Moreover, Randy also informed Maxwell that Ghea was pregnant.
That’s why, while at the office, Maxwell decided to promptly visit Ghea at Randy’s residence. Accompanied by Mario, the middle-aged man personally checked on his daughter’s condition.
“It was the right thing to do, Pa. But we all should be grateful. Ghea is in good condition,” Randy replied, trying to reassure him.
Even though he was reassured, Maxwell couldn’t help but worry. Gema repeatedly assured her father that Ghea was indeed fine.
“Anyway, you have to process this, Ran. Whether the accident was intentional or not, the perpetrator must be held accountable.”
Mario nodded in agreement. He, who was initially emotional upon hearing about his sister becoming a victim of an accident and the hit-and-run, was furious.
“Papa is right, Ran. Even if the person shows up and wants to settle amicably, don’t agree. If they had good intentions, they shouldn’t have run away after the accident.”
Randy just smiled. In reality, he wasn’t ordered or told to do anything; he would process this incident until the person who hit his wife’s car was found. If necessary, he would pursue them to hell to ensure they received proper punishment.
“Papa, just relax. I’ve handled everything, and I’m confident that the person who intentionally hit Ghea’s car will be apprehended by the authorities soon.”
Maxwell looked closely at Randy’s face, visibly confident. He felt grateful in his heart that his daughter found the right partner – someone responsible, protective, and genuinely loving.
“In that case, Papa will wait for further updates.” Maxwell, who was initially sitting on the family room sofa, then stood up. He approached Randy, hugged his son-in-law before deciding to bid farewell. “Once again, thank you for your kindness to Ghea. Papa feels truly fortunate to have married Ghea to the right man. Someone who can protect, care for, and love her so sincerely.”
Randy responded with a hug for a few moments. After releasing it, he then addressed his father-in-law’s words.
“This is all Randy’s duty. So, Papa doesn’t need to worry.”
Not only Maxwell, but Mario standing beside him was also moved. Knowing well that his younger sister had often been treated unfairly since childhood, he expressed gratitude. Now, he felt even more relieved and confident that Ghea was truly in the hands of the right man.
“If there’s anything, or you need help, don’t hesitate to tell me, Ran. Whatever it is, I’ll do my best to help.”
Randy nodded again.
“Thanks, Mario. I’ll definitely keep you updated if there’s any new development.”
“In that case, Papa and Mario will head home first. Please convey our regards to your parents who are still in the room; we ask for your permission to leave first.”
After the in-laws and uncle finished visiting Randy’s wife, Randy returned to the room. There, Ghea was still engrossed in conversation with her parents.
“Ma, it’s almost ten o’clock; let Ghea rest. We can continue talking tomorrow.”
Verona turned and nodded. Although still missing and worrying, she understood why her son asked her to end the conversation. Verona knew that Ghea, who was now pregnant, needed extra time to rest.
“Yes, dear. Papa and I are ready to go home.”
After responding, Verona looked back at Ghea sitting beside her. She cupped her daughter-in-law’s cheeks affectionately and spoke softly.
“You rest a lot, okay? Stay healthy, and be careful. If you need anything, tell Mama. Again, be careful, Ghe. Mama would be really sad if you were in danger like yesterday.”
With a heavy heart and teary eyes, Verona uttered those words. Due to her deep affection for her daughter-in-law, she seemed profoundly saddened by the ordeal Ghea had experienced the day before.
“Yes, Ma. Don’t be sad like this. Ghea promises to be more careful. In the future, if I want to go out or anywhere, I’ll wait for Uncle. So we can go together.”
Verona nodded and this time reached for Ghea’s body, embracing her for a moment until satisfied. Only then did she release the embrace, rise from her seat, and then bid farewell.
“Mama is going home now, Ran. You have to take care of your wife and Mama’s future grandchild. Be warned if you neglect them. Mama won’t forgive you.”
Randy nodded with a grin. Besides, he didn’t need to be told; he would undoubtedly focus all his attention on taking care of Ghea.
“Yeah, got it. Mama doesn’t need to worry.”
After everyone had left after visiting, Randy approached Ghea, who was sitting on the bed. He took a seat beside her, then took her hand, gently caressing her stomach.
“How are you feeling? Are you okay? Or do you feel anything uncomfortable?”
Ghea smiled and shook her head. Despite the recent accident, she didn’t feel any pain or discomfort in her body.
“So far, so good, dear. I was really lucky yesterday, nothing serious happened.”
“It’s also fortunate that our future child is okay, Ghe. I still can’t believe you’re pregnant.”
Ghea continued to smile. She stretched her arms and intentionally hugged Randy, who was beside her.
“God has been really good to us, dear. I hope the baby in my belly stays healthy until it’s time to be born. Help me take care of him, okay?”
Randy, of course, agreed. If necessary, he would devote his heart and soul to protect and care for Ghea and their unborn child from all kinds of dangers. Randy would do anything to provide the best for his small family.
“The most important thing right now is that you and our baby are okay. Now, it’s time to rest. I don’t want you to get tired, let alone stay up all night.”
Ghea nodded in agreement, not intending to argue. With her husband’s assistance, she slowly lay down, preparing to sleep.
Randy, in turn, didn’t forget to cover Ghea’s entire body with a blanket. He stayed for a while, gently stroking the top of Ghea’s head until she finally fell asleep. Randy, feeling tired himself, decided to follow suit.
However, just as he was about to close his eyes, Randy’s phone rang. Checking who was calling, he found his assistant on the line.
“Yes, Vin. What’s up?”
“Sir, I bring good news. The person who hit Ms. Ghea has been found. And now, they are at the police station.”
