Luna of the Cursed Alpha King (Helga and Siegren)

Chapter 78

HELGA AND SIEGREN were having a lively breakfast with the betas and gamma when suddenly, a royal guard announced that a visitor had arrived at the front gates of the palace.

“Alpha Ezra of Incarnadine Pack was here, Your Majesty, the Alpha King." the guard announced with respect, causing Helga to momentarily pause while Siegren scowled. He couldn't believe that the bastard had actually shown up after calling just yesterday to make a sudden appointment. Initially, he had wanted to refuse the Alpha's request to come over due to personal reasons, but when Helga said she wanted to see him, he had no choice but to agree. It didn't bother him though; he knew their relationship was long over and was confident that Helga had moved on from whatever they once had.

“Let him in and make him wait in the reception room," Siegren ordered, and the royal guard nodded, then excused himself to inform the other guards at the gate through a mind link. "Are you sure you'll meet him?" Portia asked as she looked at Helga, her face etched with concern after placing down her cup. "Did you hear the news about him? Apparently, he didn't return to his territory after the Hunting Competition. Instead, he spent all his time drinking at various PUBS here in the capital."

"It's all right, I know exactly why he wanted to see me," she said with a gentle smile, her lips caressing the edge of the glass as she took a sip of her juice. She had already anticipated Ezra's arrival, knowing that he would come looking for her after what had happened just a few days ago. She was certain that he would offer his apologies and try to make amends for everything he had done to her despite her warning to him not to do anything. It was a predictable move from a man driven by greed, only realizing the value of something once it was lost. But she wouldn't let his words or gestures sway her decision-she had made up her mind and was sticking to it no matter what he had planned to do.

After finishing her breakfast, Helga wasted no time and headed straight to the reception room. Unexpectedly, Siegren insisted on walking her there. He promised to leave as soon as they met with Ezra, so she allowed him to join her. But what she didn't know was that he had ulterior motives.

"Good morning, Your Majesty the Alpha and Queen Luna," As soon as the royal couple entered the room, Ezra stood up and greeted them respectfully. Despite his preparations for this day after feeling down for a while, seeing Helga standing in front of him triggered a flood of memories that made his heart race, he felt like his head was spinning.

"Take a seat," She gestured towards a seat and then turned to Siegren, noting his clear disdain upon seeing the unwanted guest. She let out a soft laugh and placed a hand on his arm, speaking to him in a soothing tone. "You can leave now, Your Majesty. I'll be alright."

"Very well, I trust you'll let me know if any trouble arises," he nodded with a reassuring smile before gently holding her face in his large hands. His lips met hers in a tender but deliberate kiss, causing Helga to momentarily freeze in surprise. It was then she understood his true reason for offering to escort her-to show Ezra that she belonged to him. She couldn't help but giggle against Siegren's lips, feeling both flattered and amused by his unexpected display of affection, she thought, it was adorable.

Meanwhile, Ezra did his best to hide the envy etched on his features, balling his hands into fists and desperately wanting to look away. But he couldn't break his gaze, especially when

Helga's hand landed on Siegren's chest, a gesture she used to do with him before.

"Don't worry too much," she smiled sweetly, and the Alpha King nodded. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - ©.

"All right, I love you." Siegren's lips pressed gently against her forehead, and she giggled, feeling a flutter of happiness in her chest. She hadn't expected him to be so possessive and childish all at once, but she couldn't deny that she enjoyed it. And as she looked over at Ezra, his face twisted with torment as he watched them act so affectionately together, she couldn't help but relish in the realization that the tables had turned. It was her turn to bask in the glow of a successful relationship while he was broken from the betrayal and failed relationship.

She reveled in the sweet irony, savoring each moment as she saw how much he had lost while she gained everything she had ever wanted.

"I love you too," Helga said back, causing Ezra's heart to feel as if it was about to explode. He was taken aback, not expecting their relationship to reach a point where they would express their love for each other. Helga used to say those words to him, but now she was saying them to someone else. It was like a punch to his gut, shattering his hope of winning her back. He pursed his lips and flinched under the intense gaze of the Alpha King, who seemed to be warning him without even saying a word. Ezra's breath caught in his throat as he locked eyes with Siegren's cold stare, and only relaxed once he left the room.

"Are you not going to request to see Miranda?" Helga asked when she sat on the sofa across from him, her elegance and beauty showing itself clearly as she looked at his miserable state. Even though he was dressed in luxurious clothing and doused in expensive perfume, it was clear that he was under a great deal of stress.

"No, I'm not here for her. I have no involvement with her anymore; you witnessed me rejecting her," Ezra answered nonchalantly. Then, realizing his mistake, he quickly added, "Your Majesty."

"Right, it's fascinating how easy it is for you to abandon your lovers." Helga scoffed, which made his face twisted in guilt as he remembered the time he ended things with her while they were engaged. Reflecting on it now, he realized that he had done the same thing to Miranda, publicly rejecting her just like he did with Helga months ago.

"I'm sorry for what I did back then," he said, his voice trembling as he clasped his hands together and looked at her with a pained expression. Helga remained stoic, her face a mask of indifference that only made him more nervous. This was his first time truly apologizing for his past mistakes and he had hoped to see some kind of reaction from her, but instead, she seemed completely uninterested in him or his words. He couldn't help but bite his lips and took a deep breath before he stood up from his seat and slowly walked towards her, causing Helga to look up at him in confusion. But then, without warning, he knelt down in front of her, which made her eyes to widen in shock.

"What are you doing?" she asked, her brows knitted together as to why he was acting out of character. But then, Ezra just stared at him with his eyes full of determination and regret; eyes that told her that he was trying his best to convey his apology.

"I'm sorry for everything I had done, my greed for power and wealth had blinded me to what was important to me. I am aware that I caused you countless pain and heartbreak, and I understand if this apology is too little, too late, but for one last time, I wanted to be shameless and ask for your forgiveness." Ezra's voice sounded sincere when those words left his lips, and Helga could tell that he was genuine. But no matter how sincere his words were, they did nothing to sway her feelings.

"Please, forgive me for all my mistakes and come back to me. Give me a second chance and I am willing to do whatever it takes to make things right, please choose me again."
