Chapter-42: I will stay
Ashina crossed her arms over her chest and levelled her eyes on Edwin who cleared his throat. Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.
"Oh! I guess she is taken, then." He muttered.
"Indeed! So don't try anything which won't end nicely, Edy." Ashina smiled at him with a hint of warning. Allison looked at them in confusion. Was she talking about her brother right?
'Ah! Well, I need to talk to him in peace. He can't show his claim to me everywhere through others.'
"I was not. Anyways, see you at the ball, girls!" Edwin said and waved them goodbye before scurrying away.
"Edwin is a good boy but keep your distance from him, Allison. You probably figured out that he is a vampire. So...." Ashina instructed her. Allison nodded as walked to her next class together.
"Ashina, can I ask something?" she asked her before they took their seats in the last second bench in the class. It was a history class of supernaturals origin and Allison had basic knowledge of them already. "Anything!"
"Does Rebecca like Lyceon? If yes, then why can't she tell him? As I observed they have good bonding but...."
Ashina cut her off before staring into her emerald eyes, "She loved him, Allison but Lyceon don't. She doesn't confess because He is already aware of her feelings but they knew since the start that they have different mates. So Lyceon has been waiting for his mate while Rebecca for him to reciprocate her feelings. After all, we can't control what we feel for someone, right!"
Allison's heart stirred at the information. He valued the mate thing?
She was getting more confused as to why He is doing this to her!
"Rebecca had already found her mate but she is in denial. She is going through the stage where she can't decide anything even after Lyceon knocked her mind through reality. I hope she gets her happiness." Ashina sighed. But Allison wondered who her mate was.
"So why did He bring me here when I am not his mate? Or is there any other purpose?" Allison asked, hoping Ashina could answer her question.
Ashina looked into her eyes silently.
"Why don't you ask him?" there was a small smirk on her face.
"Is it related to the dark walkers prophecy?" Allison asked and just like that her smirk dropped. Ashina blinked at her in surprise.
"Who told you about this?" then she sighed deeply once again. "Becca! That girl!" She muttered something under her breath.
"Allison, Look! don't ask something from me whose answer I can't give you. You have to wait for the right time if you want to know everything. And no one can tell you precisely except Lyceon." She suggested. Allison knew it. Her existence here had a connection with this prophecy otherwise the dark lord would never bring her here.
After classes, they headed to the parking lot. She didn't ask her anything after that.
She saw a man in his black shirt and jeans standing and waiting in front of the bonnet of Ashina's car.
Ashina stopped for a while and stiffened. The man turned to them and Allison blinked at seeing Aztec walking to them with a grim face but his eyes turned to Ashina and said something to her in a mind-link. Ashina turned to Allison, "I need to go somewhere, Allison. Aztec will drop you back home." saying this, Ashina slid into her car and immediately drove away.
"Let's go!" Aztec gestured to Allison to follow him. "Aztec, what happened? Is everything alright?" Allison enquired.
"Lyceon and Ashina need to go somewhere for an important meeting, Allison. There is a ball party in the Golden masked pride and They will depart from there after the party. The people from the rival packs may appear and can create a mess around. So we need more security." He informed me before we got into his car.
"But Lycans are stronger than other supernaturals, right? Your King has the power to deal with them single-handedly." Allison stated recalling the scene from the club.
"Things don't work out like you think. There are rules, which the communities set through the elders and high rank people for all of us to maintain peace and harmony. We can't just kill or harm everyone. And Those creatures don't attack from the front. Everybody looks after each other's weaknesses to destroy them to get power, Ali. We have to go according to the standards and cooperation in between all communities. The Enemies are not weaklings." Allison looked at him, Aztec gritted his teeth like they had robbed his home. She nodded and they fell silent then.
'I hope I can find my brother somehow in this gathering. Oh goddess, please don't snatch him away from me.'
"Don't you have a mate?" Allison asked Aztec to lighten the atmosphere as he seemed stoic and gloomy since he appeared.
"Not yet. But I hope I find her soon. Maybe tomorrow in the ball, the moon goddess may grant me one. But Once I find her I will cage her forever with me." He smiled finally. Allison rolled her eyes but a small smile appeared on her face. Azrec had always been nice to her. She wished him a kind and loving mate.
"All walkers are the same. You people only know how to control others!" She muttered. He laughed before tapping her head.
"Our queen gets irritated, huh!" He hummed.
"Stop with this title, okay? Argh! I hate it!" and after that he never let her off hook with his teasing through the drive.
Allison's lips parted as she opened the gift box placed on her nightstand in my room. A new iPhone greeted her eyes as she held it in her hand. There was no name written on the box but she knew Lyceon bought her this.
'At least He had the courtesy to compensate for the loss done by him.' She tsked, ignored the fluttering thing in her stomach and switched on the phone before inserting the sim card from her old broken phone.
Allison's thoughts turned to Ashina and Rebecca's talks again. They knew about the prophecy and Lyceon's purpose for bringing her here but she knew they wouldn't tell.
And she understood what she had to do for now. She needed to drop the idea of escaping And stay there for a purpose now.
But as Allison opened the notification on her phone, her plan to stay there seemed an issue as the first message she got on her new phone put her on edge. "Ali, we are coming!"
