Chapter 4591
Josh walked over again and saw Zachary looking at Serenity's Moments.
He teased, "Serenity took the kids out this time. They must be having a blast. Jasmine's been wanting to take Milo out too, but she says she can't handle him alone. So she asked me when I could take a few days off."
Zachary slipped his phone back into his pocket. "You don't need long-just a week should do. You've already finished your current work, so go ahead and take some time off."
Josh smiled. "Thanks. I just don't know where to take him. All kids seem to love amusement parks, but for us adults, they're kind of boring."
Zachary said, "It's about the kids, not us. We're just there to let them have fun and create happy memories. It's about giving them a great childhood-what we like doesn't matter."
Josh chuckled. "You say that, but don't you and Serenity often leave your kids at home and sneak off for some fun of your own?"
Zachary replied, "It's rare that they're on summer break. Just let him go wherever he enjoys. They're still too young to appreciate historic sites or cultural spots. They won't understand any of it—it's all just scenery to them. Better to take them to places like amusement parks where they can actually enjoy themselves." Josh nodded. Zachary made a good point. Still, he grumbled a bit. "I've got a whole playground set up at home, and your Wildridge Manor is practically a theme park by itself. It's got everything! Don't these kids ever get tired of it? Why do they still get excited about playgrounds when we go out?"
Zachary smiled. "Kids love going out. They enjoy the excitement, the crowds, and the newness of it all. That kind of joy only lasts for a few years. Once they hit middle school and become teens, they won't be interested in any of it anymore." Josh thought back to his own teenage years. All he wanted was to study and practice martial arts. He had no interest in amusement parks-video games were more appealing. As he got older, he gravitated toward more extreme thrills— motorcycle races, risky stunts. He got scolded and beaten countless times for it. But nothing really stopped him. He still got into trouble and injuries. Boys were always wilder and more reckless.
He wasn't surprised Milo was so mischievous-he was just like that as a kid. The only difference was, when he got in trouble, his parents disciplined him hard. But when Milo caused chaos, his grandparents would step in to protect him and wouldn't let anyone lay a hand on him.noveldrama
They used to say they didn't have enough time for their son, but now that they're retired, they've made Milo their whole world.
They weren't just "keeping him company"-they were his full-time bodyguards. Thankfully, Jasmine could still control Milo. But even then, there were days when his behavior made her furious.
When Jasmine disciplined him, her in-laws would pace back and forth anxiously, but none of them dared say a word. No matter how much they doted on their grandson, they never stepped in once she got serious.
Even Julian's father-Josh's uncle-would go silent when Jasmine disciplined Milo. That man, once the powerful head of the Bucham family, now walked on eggshells around his daughter-in-law when it came to his grandson.
