Subtitle: Getting to know him
Written by : Marvy Hyacinth
Alexa seemed not to have realised what just happened until people started crowding around Anderson and asking her questions.
“Why did you push him onto the road?”
An elderly woman yelled at her, immediately bringing her senses back.
“Push? Who did I pu…”
Alexa didn’t get to finish her statement as her eyes darted on the ground and shock coursed through her.
“Omg! I didn’t push him.”
Alexa exclaimed, and kneeled beside Anderson.
Panic soon set in.
“Anderson, Anderson!”
Alexa yelled his name severally and tapped him lightly on his cheeks.
“Anderson, are you there?”
She asked like his ghost had already left his body.
“Someone, please call 911 please.”
Alexa requested, her panic slowly turning into fear, and fear into sadness.
“I’ve done that already, they should be on their way.”
Someone from the crowd answered.Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.
Unable to really do anything else, Alexa leaned onto Anderson and placed her head on his chest, before cupping his cheeks.
Soon, tears were flowing out of Alexa’s eyes like heavy raindrops as she stared at her beloved Anderson in his own pool of blood.
“We’re here. Please give way and let us through.”
A uniformed lady yelled as her colleagues ran through the crowd pushing a trolley bed towards the scene of the accident.
Without saying anything, they lifted Anderson up and put him on the bed before pushing him towards their vehicle parked at a short distance with Alexa running with them and into the emergency vehicle.

I pulled over at the exact place whoever wrote that stupid letter said I should and got out of my car almost immediately.
I leaned against my car thinking of where next to go from where I was standing when suddenly, my phone beeped.
I picked it out of my purse and saw it was a message.
“Maybe a message from whoever sent me that package.”
I muttered to myself as I unlocked the phone, and true to my thoughts, the message indeed was from him| her.
‘Move exactly ten steps from your car to your front, and enter the door to the warehouse after the park you parked your car in.’
I did as the message instructed and soon, I was facing the door to some building which looked like a storage room and twisted the door knob but the door seemed locked.
Tikki Tikki..
I rolled my eyes when my phone vibrated in my hand.
“Another message?”
I asked silently as I brought the phone to my face, unlocked it and went to my inbox.
What I saw next had me asking if I was being watched at.
‘Use the key’
“What the… Am I being stalked by someone I can’t see?”
I asked no one in particular before looking behind me scanning for anyone who looked suspicious.
When I saw no one suspicious, I tilted my head to one of my shoulders confused.
“These texts look like they’re being sent by someone watching me like a movie… But I can’t see anyone suspicious.”
I shrugged my shoulders and rummaged through my purse for the single key I picked from that box. On sight, I grabbed it immediately and slot it in the keyhole on the door.
The door gave way immediately I twisted the key and held the door knob.
Walking inside, the first thing that enveloped me was darkness and it frightened the hell out of me, making me search frantically for the light switch.
“Thank goodness!”
I exclaimed as I felt my hand touch the light switch and I clicked it immediately to avoid losing it.
When the lights came on, I breathed in relief heavily, trying to catch my breath.
“Welcome, miss.”
“What the…!”
I exclaimed in fright and turned around, facing the door I walked in through, not quite long ago, but saw no one.
“You must be miss Phoebe Patterson.”
The voice came again.
At that moment, I saw a shadowy figure standing at the mouth of the door, making out the shape and all… It was unmistakably a woman.
When she left the door and walked right in, the light in the room illuminated her face, and I saw it.
“Who are you?”
I questioned boldly, not really scared anymore.
“I came to deliver a gift to you.”
She said.
“What gift?”
I asked, quite confused.
“The gift at your back.”
She spoke, a little too confident… It got a little on my nerves.
I mean, I’ve been here this whole time and saw nothing.
“Why should I trust you?”
I squinted my eyes.
“Because it’s for your own good.”
She answered simply.
I was slowly getting angry, but decided to heed her, even if it was only this once.
I turned around, away from her and unto the side my back was facing some seconds ago.
“Oh my God!”
I exclaimed when my eyes met such luxury.
“You like it?”
She asked and creepily placed a hand on my shoulder.
I flinched. Prolly because I didn’t know when she walked closer and silently to me.
“Stop doing that. You’re creeping the fuck out of me.”
I hissed venomously and shrugged her hand off my shoulder, but she still maintained her question.
“You like what you see?”
She asked again, drawing my attention back to the sight in front of me.
“Yes. I do… Why?”
I asked, a bit suspicious.
“Its all yours.”
She teethed a smile at me, which was kinda irritating, seeing that some of her teeth were missing.
“Its all mine?”
I cocked my brow and asked.
She nodded.
“Why? How? I didn’t order to buy a warehouse.”
“Oh geez. You’re so forgetful.”
She said, and started pacing around me slowly… Stopping only when she was standing behind me.
“It’s a gift, remember?”

Holy Lord!
Please help me…
How could I be so angry to cause Anderson to be in the hospital, injured and involved in an accident?
What if Paul was just being a cheap skater and trying to bring a rift between me and Anderson by lying to me?
But… Anderson never denied anything.
He never said Paul was lying.
He only asked if I believed Paul over him.
That’s strange…
Because the Anderson I know and have come to love doesn’t like having somebody else win over him.
He loved arguing a lot…
So much as to argue to lengths just to get you believe him and hands up.
But, today, he was nothing like that.
Not even when Paul said he knows his father killed mine.
Why…?
Don’t tell me…
Paul was right all along?
Alexa was lost in calculative thoughts, she didn’t notice a hooded man slip past her… And into Anderson’s room immediately the doctor and nurses came out of his room, right after treating and covering up his injuries.
As the nurses left, a medical trolley with them, the Doctor walked up to Alexa.
“Hi Mrs.”
The Doctor called out, pulling Alexa out of her heart shattering world of thoughts.
“Hi Doctor. How is he?”
She asked, looking all frantic.
“It’s nothing really. Your husband has gone out of the dangerous phase, the accident he was involved in wasn’t really serious as it was just a hit and run.”
‘Husband?’
“The only thing was he was shook so hard by something, he half lost his will to reason, so when he fell, his adrenaline failed to give him the strength he needed, making all that blood rush out.”
The Doctor explained.
“Oh…”
Alexa muttered, not really understanding the latter part of the Doctor’s explanation, though he explained as simply as he could.
“Thank you.”
“He’s awake. You can go see him.”
The Doctor flashed her a polite smile before leaving.

“Tsk. Tsk. Tsk.”
The hooded man used his tongue, making that annoying mocking sound as he walked towards the patient on his bed.
“Injured because of your love, isn’t it?”
He asked, kind of annoying.
Anderson couldn’t think of anything else.
‘Paul!!!’
He screamed in his mind as anger filled him and bursted out through his eyes, making them fly open.
“Awake, are we?”
He asked when he noticed Anderson’s eyes open.
“Then… It’s time to die.”
He half laughed, half talked as he moved towards the plug where everything on Anderson to help him stabilise was plugged to.
“Don’t.”
Anderson warned as his eyes roved from Paul’s hooded figure to his gloved hand on the plug.
“Goodnight.”
Paul smirked and pulled the plug???
