Chapter 18
Once both parties reached an agreement in terms of rates, the other details were not hard to hammer
out. It did not take long before they signed the contract, and the payment would come next.
Tyler, Sierra, and Lianne would be able to afford a property mortgage in Rosewood once the money
came into their bank accounts
With work out of the way. Tyler, Sierra, and Lianne spent their extra day in Highsea sightseeing and
taking a food tour They had a blast and returned to Rosewood on a Sunday at ten o’clock at night
Sierra and Tyler could not be certain that Lianne was alright, as since the incident, Lianne stopped.
wearing her heart on her sleeve
“What are you two up to? Don’t worry about me I’m fine, We should look at houses when we get the
money from the copyright fees. We can buy properties in the same neighborhood so we can still live
together
Tyler and Sierra shared the same idea “Yeah We should strive to earn money to buy a house. Then, we
can settle down in Rosewood and become one of the locals”
“It’s late and time for bed. I need to get to the office first thing in the morning” Lianne yawned
Sierra and Tyler said. “Goodnight”
The next morning Lianne was crawling out of bed when her personal phone on the bedside table
buzzed Since the little mishap last week, Lianne now set her phone to silent mode
She felt around for her phone, not forgetting her manners when she picked up the call in a daze. “Good
morning”
An unfamiliar voice belonging to a man came on the line “Ms. Simpson, I’m Mr. Hill’s attorney, Mr
Cash.” Two days ago, her husband, who had been “dead” for more than a year, contacted Lianne for a
divorce out of the blue, and today, his attorney got in touch with her Did something happen to the man?
Did her husband have a debt to his name? Was she, the wife, contacted because of the accrued
liability? Was the man trying to get her to pay his debt since she had money?
The possibility led Lianne to cling to her phone in fear that someone would steal her phone and wire
the money out of her bank account have no money. Don’t come looking for me”
Mr Cash paused. “I’m not asking you for money I should remind you that your mamage to Mr. Hill is
only by name, so it won’t do any good to you both to drag the situation on. Come to Yve’s tonight at
eight, so we can chat
Lianne was down with anything so long as it was not paying off her husband’s debt She nodded Sure Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
See you at eight
After the call. Mr. Cash immediately dialed Zane’s number “Mr Atlas, I’ve managed to reach your wife
We re meeting at eight o’clock tonight. Are you goingTM”
“Me? Why would I need you if I had to attend? Zane could not stand another sight of the woman who
betrayed him. She was an eyesore
Liam. “Go
Zane hung up and glanced at his watch before sending a message to Lianne and Cam Go straight to
the airport instead of coming to the office Were going to Weston”
The development of a tourism destination in Weston was the government’s program to close the wealth
gap
The Atlas Group was not after the profits from the investment. Instead, the company’s priority was
reputation
Following the rapid boom of the internet in recent years, anything and everything could be up for
debate online. Many enterprises, especially leading companies, started giving precedence to their
online presence.
A high-level official was scheduled to audit the project, and the Atlas Group had assigned someone to
receive the person. Nevertheless, the person in charge suddenly fell ill.
Zane was supposed to cut the ribbon during the opening ceremony of the tourist spot next month.
Since his schedule was clear of any important matters, Zane decided to bring forth the itinerary ahead
of time. Ambushed by the last-minute changes, Liam and Lianne flew with Zane to Weston.
It was a three-hour flight to a major city in Weston before they took a connecting flight to a tiny airport in
the highlands an hour away
The highlands were beautiful during the fall in October. However, the weather was chilly.
Paired with the high altitude, Lianne was overcome by a dizzy spell not long after getting off the flight.
Zane glanced at her. “Haven’t you been to the highlands?
