Wilson ran his fingers through his hair and sat up impatiently. He snatched the bill, glanced at it casually, and was instantly enraged. “2.2 million dollars?!”
How was he able to drink wine worth 2.2 million dollars in one night!
This was absurd!
Furious, he smacked the bill on the manager’s face and shouted, 2.2 million dollars for wine? Why not rob a bank instead? I’ve only had a few bottles. How could it even cost that much?!”
“Mr. Duarte, you’ve had more than a few bottles of wine tonight!”
The manager’s face turned cold after the bill hit him. He picked up the bill from the ground and pointed at it.
“You had 10 bottles of wine. Three bottles of dried red wine worth 600 thousand dollars each, 6 bottles of vodka worth 8001 thousand dollars each, and I bottle of century–old wine worth 500 thousand dollars. Additionally, you are responsible for paying for damages to this private room, as stated on the bill. Please pay now, Mr. Duarte.”
“It’s impossible!” barked Wilson in horror.
He snatched the bill again and took a closer look at it. Cold sweat immediately broke out on his forehead.
What the manager said was actually true!
He did have ten bottles of wine in one evening. Each bottle was valuable and expensive, especially the last one, which was a century–old wine worth 400,000 dollars on the market.
Ten boules equaled nearly 2 million dollars!
It was an incredibly large sum of money.
He had never drunk such costly wine before!
Wilson’s forehead dripped with sweat, and he sobered up in an instant.
In the past, he could manage to pay 2.2 million dollars, even though it was a significant amount for him.
But it was different now!
Nicole took tens of millions of dollars from her family business’s working capital for her own selfish reasons. That money was crucial to the capital chain of their family business. If any issues arose, the entire company’s operations would be affected.
A minor financial setback could mess up the whole company. The situation would be even more disastrous if it were to be uncovered.
Therefore, Zackery had kept it a secret and didn’t dare to tell anyone. He had been trying hard to gather enough money to cover the deficit.
Although Nicole was the one who stole the money, Wilson had always been the one in charge of the account where the money was depouted. Therefore, he too found it hard to clear his name of the blame. Moreover, he attempted to conceal Nicole’s action, making his wrongdoing even more severe.
After the matter was exposed, he felt remorseful and uneasy, so he transferred all the money from his account to compensate for the difficulties caused by Nicole
Zackery and his wife even spent almost all their money to fix the company’s financial problem. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.
That was to say, Wilson didn’t have any money, so he couldn’t pay the 2.2 million dollars.
“Bullshit! What kind of wine costs that much? Are you trying to extort me?”
He was so angry that he tore the bill and threw it hard on the ground.
“Mr. Duarte, are you saying you won’t pay?”

The manager’s expression changed and his tone became threatening “You better think about it. It’s not a good idea to skip payment at our club!”
Wilson’s eyes widened and he gave in to his drunkenness. He stepped on the sofa and shouted, “You can’t scare me! I’m not paying today! What are you gonna do?“”
“Mr. Duarte, are you serious?”
The manager gave a fake smile and said. “If you’re kidding, I will laugh it off. But if you’re serious, don’t blame us for not showing you respect.”
“Try me if you can!” shouted Wilson.
The manager was done being nice to Wilson. Watching Wilson shout arrogantly and look determined to skip payment, he wondered if he was acting drunk and became impatient. He waved
his hand with a cold expression.
A loud bang sounded.
The door of the private room suddenly opened.
Several men in black suits rushed in, grabbed Wilson’s arms, and lifted him up without saying a word.
“What do you want to do? You jerk! Let me go!”
Wilson’s face turned pale with fright. He struggled with all his might while cursing loudly.
One of the men was impatient. He raised his big fist and punched Wilson firmly in the stomach.
“Ugh!”
Wilson was hit so hard that he hunched over and curled up into a ball, his face twisted in pain. He vomited suddenly, spewing alcohol and food from his stomach and causing a mess on both his clothes and the ground.
A tangy, sour odor abruptly permeated the entire room.
The manager held his nose in disgust and said sternly. “Mr. Duarte drank too much. Please escort him out! Afterward, send his bill directly to the Duarte family in person and inform his father that we do not tolerate any unpaid bills at our club. Is that
clear?”
“Yes, sir.”
Ten minutes later, at the back door of the club.
Wilson, who was beaten up and thrown out, ended up in a puddle with dirt all over him. His nose was bleeding, and his face was swollen.
“How can you claim to be wealthy and act so arrogant at Pleasure Point when you have no money?”
The man who kicked Will out spat on the ground, sneered, and closed the door.
Wilson leaned against the wall and staggered to his feet. He touched his forehead and felt a sharp pain, blood dripping from his finger. Everything in front of him looked red. As he tried to move forward, a huge shadow suddenly covered his head,
“No.” he screamed
He was pulled more than 30 feet away while stuck in a rough bag before numerous sticks fell on him like a storm.
At the intersection not far away, an inconspicuous gray van was parked on the side of the road.
cigar in his mouth, Gregory leisurely sat in the back seat with his legs crossed. While smoking, he enjoyed the violence far away and casually said. “Remember, don’t kill him!TM
men said. “Mr. Drake, trust us. We know what we’re doing. We won’t kill him!”
“Great Cripple one of his legs after you are done beating him”

The man was stunned. “Is that a good idea? After all, he’s a part of the Duarte family. What if the Duarte family takes revenge..
Gregory sneered. The Duarte family is nothing. Mr. Stewart gave the order to teach this man a lesson and cripple his leg. He offended the wrong person and he’s paying for it.” Gregory remembered Tillman’s call from moments ago. He narrowed his eyes and grinned wickedly.
“Just do it. Somebody will take all the blame!”
“Yes, sir!”
The man scurried a
away.
Soon after, a heart–wrenching scream was heard from the darkness of the alleyway.
