The next day, Steven was at work when the receptionist informed him that someone wanted to meet with him.

He had several meetings lined up for the day, and upon hearing that someone wanted to meet him, he told the receptionist to schedule them for another time.

However, just 20 minutes later, the receptionist called him again, saying the person claimed to be his father.

After a brief moment of silence, Steven wrapped up the work he was doing and headed downstairs.

Finn was waiting outside the company building. He had been anxiously checking the time, and it had already been an hour. As he thought about how he was Steven's father, yet was being treated so coldly by him, his discomfort grew.

As an elder, waiting for someone younger than him like this was already a bit much. Just as his frustration reached its peak, he saw Steven walking out.

"Steve!"

Steven's expression was indifferent. "We're not really familiar with each other, so just call me by my name."

Finn's smile faltered but he still replied cheerfully, "It doesn't matter what I call you. You're still my son."

He was quite proud of himself. All three of his sons were excellent, and the fact that they had risen from the countryside to where they were now was an incredible feat.

However, he couldn't deny that the current times were better than his era, as there was more room for young people to grow. Back in his day, he had to resort to certain methods to get ahead.

"From the moment you abandoned us, you no longer deserve to be called my father," Steven stated plainly.

Finn's smile immediately faltered.

"We don't need to be at odds like this," he said, trying to smooth things over.

"I'm just stating the facts. The last

time I spoke to you, I told you not to interfere with my family, but you didn't listen. Not only did you go looking for Charles and Harvey you even went to my mother. That's not the behavior of a man," Steven said.

He looked down on Finn. It was a deep, unmistakable contempt.

Finn took a deep breath. "You should know, I'm here because I have no other choice. Your sister is suffering, and the pain is unbearable. You three are her brothers, and now is the time to step up and protect

her to do what brothers are

supposed to do."

"I only have one sister, Skylar. I would give my life for her, but anyone else who wants to claim to be my sister doesn't deserve it!" Steven sneered.

Finn's anger flared. "Skylar is not even your sister! You have no blood relation to her. And you're willing to give your life for her, but ignore your own sister? After all these years of schooling, what exactly did you learn?"

Steven's response was sharp and mocking. "What did I learn? How to abandon a wife and kids? Or how to be selfish?"

Finn was on the verge of losing his temper. His three sons all seemed to have the same personality-none of them had any respect for him. It was as if they had a deep, unhealable grudge against him.

"You! Are you really refusing to help?
