Chapter 1556 What Is She Unhappy

“Daddy was on a business trip abroad and only returned today,” Johanna said, wiping the paint off the

little one's hands with a tissue. “Daddy will come over for dinner tonight.”

“Ok,” Asel replied.

Her little hands were clean for only a few minutes before she unscrewed a bottle of children's nail

polish. “Mommy, let me paint your nails for you. Daddy will definitely compliment you on how beautiful

you are when he sees it,” she said.

“Alright.” Asel was having a blast, and Johanna indulged her, letting the little girl play with her hands.

Around six o'clock, Steven came back after picking up the two kids from school. He told Johanna, “Mr.

Faulkner has a dinner engagement that requires Mrs. Faulkner's presence, so they won't be coming

home for dinner tonight.”

“I think I want to go out for some cheese pizza,” said Amanda. Asel also raised her hand, indicating she RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only

wanted pizza too.

Johanna knew that Rebecca had also come to the capital. She wanted Steven to spend time with her,

so she took the kids to a pizza restaurant.

After finding a seat in the pizza restaurant, Johanna took out her phone intending to call Timothy.

However, she decided to send a WhatsApp message instead, asking him when he would be done with

his work.

Not long after, Timothy replied to the message, saying he was very busy and wouldn't be able to return

home until late tonight.

Johanna was just about to send a line of text when Timothy replied: I've thought a lot during my business trip abroad. Since you want a divorce, I should respect your decision. It's better for both of us this way.

Timothy: If you're free tomorrow morning, let's go to the Civil Affairs Bureau to sign the papers.

Upon seeing his second message, Johanna's mind went blank for a few seconds, then her entire heart

was flooded with endless sorrow.

A few hours ago, Timothy ran into her in the tea garden, even holding an umbrella, and brewed ginger

tea for her. He even teased her for deliberately trying to seduce him. Yet, a few hours later, his attitude

changed, and he suddenly agreed to the divorce.

This made Johanna inevitably question whether all the news that he had tacitly allowed the journalists

to reveal was actually true.

She was clearly the one who felt the pain, which led her to have to urge to separate from Timothy. It

was also she who personally expressed the desire for Timothy to have a better life, hoping for a

peaceful divorce between them.

Now that Timothy had agreed, what could she possibly be unhappy about?

Johanna stared at those two messages for a long time. Then, she deleted all the text in the dialogue

box and replied to him: Okay.

After eating pizza, Johanna first dropped off the two little ones at Swallow Garden.

She was not sure what dinner event Armand was attending, but it was almost nine o'clock and he still

hadn't returned with Genevieve.

She took Asel to her apartment in Maple Forest, gave her a bath, and as she tucked her in and coaxed

her to sleep, Johanna softly asked, “Asel, do you prefer being with Daddy or Mommy?”

Asel didn't understand the meaning behind her mother's words. She nestled in her arms, and said in

her cute voice, “I love being with Mommy and Daddy the most.”

Johanna didn't say a word. Instead, she bent down and gently kissed her little cheek.

The next day, Johanna was the first to rise. She made a pancake and warmed up some milk. After

having breakfast with Asel, she drove her back to the mansion.

Even though the door was right in front of her, she felt as if it was an endless abyss, and she didn't

want to take a single step forward.

Suppressing the discomfort in her heart, Johanna, holding Asel, pushed open the gate and headed

towards the main house.

The servant who opened the door greeted Johanna, “Mrs. Jensen, didn't Mr. Jensen return with you?”

“Didn't he come back last night?” Johanna asked.

The servant shook her head and said, “I don't think so. I noticed this morning that his shoes were not in

the main house. Have you had breakfast, madam?”

Last night, Timothy said he would be home late. Johanna thought he meant after midnight, but he didn't

return all night.

Johanna left Asel at home under the care of the servant. After getting in the car, she started to text

Timothy. She typed a few sentences, then deleted them, finally settling on: Meet me at the entrance of the Civil Affairs Bureau at nine.

She had just driven out of the mansion district when her phone rang again, but it wasn't Timothy who

called.

Johanna answered the phone, “Hello, Mr. Foxx.”

“Well, old classmates shouldn't be so formal,” said Zander on the other end of the phone. “Do you have

some free time this morning? Could you come to Ingenuity Entertainment? I'd like to discuss a

collaboration with you. I have a lot of things to handle and can't leave; otherwise, I would have gone to

your studio.”

After Zander finished speaking apologetically, he noticed that Johanna hadn't responded for a while.

“It's okay if you're busy this morning, I can make time to come over in the afternoon...”

“I'm not busy,” Johanna said, “I'll head over now.”

After hanging up the phone, Johanna glanced at the time. It was already half past eight. She initially

wanted to send another message to Timothy, but she put down her phone in the end.
