My Love Until the Last Goodbye (Mary and Maximus)

The afternoon was golden, autumn had arrived, and two souls from different generations were joining in marriage.

On one side was a man who had been used for years, a man raised from childhood to be a leader, leaving behind the boy, the teenager, the young man who once had his own dreams and hopes.

That was Maximus, adjusting the lapel of his elegant beige suit, which gave him a very different look from who he used to be—and far from what he remembered from his previous marriages.

He would've refused a third marriage under normal circumstances, but not this time. This time, it was real. He actually wanted to get married. He was madly in love with his future wife. He had no doubt they'd be happy for however long life gave them the chance.

And that wasn't all his bride was much younger than him, and yet, they complemented each other in an incredible way.

"I've come to see the luckiest man in the world..." said Peter as he walked into the room where Maximus was.

"Well, don't just come to see-tell me, how do I look?" said Maximus, spreading his arms and spinning around.

"You look like a 56-year-old man-almost 57-who's about to marry the love of his life," said Peter seriously.

"That's not very helpful!"

"Alright, alright. You look like a man.

it takes to make his future wife happy even wear a beige suit," Peter said, adjusting his brother's collar and lapel. "You'll do great. And if not, at least you can blame it on being old and senile."

"Peter!"

"What? That's just my humble opinion..."

"You're not far off from that path yourself..."

"No, but seriously-you look good,, you look handsome. That color takes years off you. Which means you should start wearing lighter colors more often to look younger."

"I'm sure you and Diana will have many happy years together. Life is finally giving back a bit of what Dad and the grandparents stole from you... Now I want you to go on your honeymoon in total peace. Magnus and I will handle the kids."
