Chapter 2373
Chapter 2373
Despite her small build, the blood in her body seemed to flow endlessly. Thinking back, even the air was dyed scarlet.
Having thought all this, I unconsciously felt a lump in my throat. I lowered my head and said with choking sobs, "I'm sorry."
Sawyer smiled faintly and said, "Don't be silly. Raiya was so kind, she wouldn't want to see us so sad."
I nodded then suddenly realized how relentlessly he tried to barge in. I promptly looked up at him and asked, "What are you doing here?"
Sawyer pressed his lips together apologetically while still maintaining a calm smile. "Don't worry. Raiya was always thinking about me even up till her death. How could I make her worry by doing something stupid? I'm not here to avenge her," Sawyer said.
"That's good," I was relieved. Although I knew that I should stay by his side during this challenging period, I was afraid that he might bump into Jordan. Therefore, I had to ask him to leave. I said, "In that case, you should go back if there's nothing else to say. I don't feel well and would like to rest."
Raiya was already dead, Sawyer should not be involved in this mess any longer.
"It's about time to go back," Sawyer agreed but then said, "But before that, I have to see the man you're with. I know that he is the real culprit."
"Didn't you just say that you wouldn't take revenge?" I instantly became nervous, "Are you fooling me?"
Without any hesitation, I grabbed him and tried to walk out. I said, "No, you have to get out of here now. You can't win against him."
But the moment I turned, I was pulled back by his enormous strength.
I turned around to look at him. Sawyer didn't move at all. He just kept shaking his head at me and said, "No, Arianna. Raiya needs justice." "Ask him to come out. I just need him to follow me and personally apologize in front of Raiya's grave."
Get Jordan to apologize?
Was that even possible?
How could a demon who was able to kill his trusted subordinate and disregard everything be capable of recognizing his faults?
No man could withstand the hatred of his wife's murder as if it was nothing but now was not the right moment.
"I promise you, will help you with whatever you want Jordan to do in the future. Let some time pass and will personally bring Jordan to apologize to Raiya. But you have to go back first today, okay, Sawyer?" I hastily bargained with him.
Jordan had been keeping a close watch on me recently, hence he wouldn't go too far. He was probably already on his way back.
"No," Sawyer adamantly refused. It
was as if his feet had grown roots and solidly anchored him to the ground. No matter how hardd tried, he wouldn't budge.
As the seconds ticked away, I could do nothing about him. I looked at the door and then at him. I had no choice but to give in.
"Are you sure that you just want to hear Jordan apologize in person? You won't fight him to the death, right?" I said seriously.
"I won't," said Sawyer. "The child can't lose its father too."
"Can I trust you, Sawyer?" Although there was no flaw in his reason, I couldn't help but worry.
"Of course," Sawyer smiled deeply and looked very sincere.
Now that there was no other way out, I could only risk it. "Good. Wait here. I'll talk to Jordan and ask him to apologize in person."
"Okay," Sawyer said as he went straight to the sofa to sit down and waited calmly.Property © NôvelDrama.Org.
He was a man in his peak, sitting
there neatly dressed with an elegant and gentle demeanor. From the side, he looked like a business elite waiting to negotiate with hiso opponent, confident about victory.
Even so, I kept feeling like a storm was about to descend on all of us.
Regardless of whether I was just being too sensitive or this truly was reality, I would have to deal with Jordan first before the two of them meet. Considering this, I left Sawyer alone and hurried to wait outside.
