No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric)

Noelle could tell that Donovan was annoyed with Xenia. After all, her stunt of secretly wearing the dress had offended the Cantrell family's heiress.

Noelle hadn't expected Xenia to mess up this badly in front of Mia. She worried that Mia might fall victim to Xenia's act, but it turned out Mia was more than capable of holding her own.

After a long pause, Donovan finally gritted his teeth. "We'll be terminating her adoption soon. Xenia will have no further ties to the Liddells."

"But that hadn't happened. If word gets out, even my family will be dragged into this mess. People might even assume Xenia has improper relationships with her brothers." Mia didn't bother beating around the bush.

Given her status, she wouldn't have survived in the Cantrell family for this long if she couldn't even stand up to someone like Xenia.

Donovan clenched his jaw. "I'll take care of it."

Xenia suddenly burst into tears. "Donovan, I've told you that I'm an adult and can move out anytime. I didn't want people to gossip about us."noveldrama

Mia scoffed. "Your legs work just fine. Who could possibly stop you if you really wanted to leave?"

Xenia choked, looking down and sniffling pitifully.

Wyatt's heart ached for her. "Who does she think she is to put on airs? She's not even married into the family yet, and she's already acting high and mighty!"

"No need to worry. I wouldn't want any association with the likes of you." With that, Mia turned and walked out of the private room.

Donovan's expression darkened. He turned back to Wyatt and Xenia. "I'll deal with you two when I get back!"

Then, he hurried after Mia. Noelle was concerned for Mia. But when she caught Mia's reassuring glance, she simply sat back down. Just then, the waiter arrived with their food.

Noelle was feeling hungry after watching the drama unfold. She picked up her spoon and started eating. She had to admit that the food here was really good.

After Donovan and Mia left, Xenia's tears miraculously stopped. She turned to Wyatt, worried. "What do we do? Ms Cantrell is obviously furious, and we cannot afford to

offend the Cantrell family.

"Don't worry. I'll talk to Donovan," Wyatt said confidently. "I wouldn't have lost my

leg if he hadn't run from his responsibilities back then. He owes me for that."

He sounded extremely

self-righteous. "Besides, Ms. Cantrell is just a cripple. She should consider herself lucky to marry someone as outstanding as Donovan Who else would even want her?"

Xenia froze. He made a good point.

But before she could say anything, Noelle suddenly burst out laughing. "Do you two seriously not know that Donovan is marrying into the

Wyatt's face twisted in disbelief. "What are you talking about? Donovan would never agree to something like that!"

Xenia also looked confused. She turned to Noelle. "How do you know?"

Noelle smirked. "Remember when I held that press conference for Blake's

incident, but the Cantrells shut it down? Donovan admitted it himself back then."

She didn't mention that it was actually Cedric who had revealed the truth. Speaking of Cedric, she suddenly thought of his brother, Magnus.

Now that she thought about it, Magnus did treat Cedric differently. She should have noticed the oddity sooner.

Even Lucas was stunned. "Is he really marrying into the family? But Donovan is so proud. How could he stand for that?"

Noelle sneered. "Because the Liddells are nothing compared to the Cantrells. What else could he do but marry into their family?"

Wyatt was indignant. "But Ms. Cantrell is a cripple! Why should she get to have him?"
