Once Betrayed Never Forgotten

Chapter 69

Chapter 69: Ambush

“Are we almost there?” I ask Colton some time later. “Tim not gonna lie, my feet are starting to hurt.”

We’ve been walking for what feels like ages. When Colton first feil me away from the party, I assumed we were going to his dorm room to hook up – but we kept walking, first into the university’s hotanical gardens, then througli into the ancient redwood forest that harders on Berkeley.

The moon casts an ethereal glow, its silvery light filtering though the canopy alie, dappling the forest loor with patches of illumination. The air is cool and crisp, carrying the scent of damp earthy and pine, mingled with the faint fragrance of fallen leaves. All I focus on is the growing pain in my tired feet, and the tempting sight of Colton’s ripped torso gleaming in the moonlight.

I half expected him to throw on a shirt when we left the party, but he’s still hour chesteil, wearing nothing but his revealing Pharaoh costume.

I can’t help but steal glances at that captivating V–line as we walk hand in hand – his Adonis belt, they call it. It’s like a subtle curve, below his six pack, teasingly defined and leading down the part of his anatomy I’m eager and impatient to get my hands on

I wonder, does he even realise how hot he is? He’s confident, but he doesn’t come across like a player or a f*ckboy, there’s something sort of charming about him. When he’s not looking, I find myself stealing; glimpses at his perfect boily, trying not to be too obvious about it.

arms are probably his best feature, second only to his handsome face….. so strong and tanned and muscular, every detail tight and defined.

I bet he could snap me in two if he wanted to.

And for some reason, the thought of that really… REALLY… turns me on.

I can feel the lady boner pressing into my panties, my clit red hot and swillen with anticipation, hard as a bullet. Į don’t know how much longer I can

“How king till we get there?” I ask again.

“Not long.” Colton says without further explanation, his hand firmly clasping mine. The rustling of leaves underfoot blends with the distant hooting of an owl and a strange, distant screeching. The trees aluve us seem to mommur in a light breeze, their ancient whispers seemingly guiding our path deeper into the heart of the forest, Movement catches my eye and I notice how distant shadows it between the trees all around us, darkening the moonlight – probably deer or elk, nothing to be afraid of, Still, I keep my hand firmly grasped in Colton’s, feeling safer thanks to his presence,

Every now and again I hear strange sounds behind is what scumuls like footsteps or branches cracking underfoot but Colton doesn’t seem to notice.

My witch’s costume swishes softly with each step, the fabric brushing against fallen twigs and moss–covered rocks. The hush of the woods is both eerie and mesmerising, and I can’t help letting my mind wander back to the last time I was walking through an ancient forest under the full moon. The night I escaped the Castle of Endless Night after the Blood Moon Ball… the night I escaped Aleksandr. The night I met Luka.

So far away now. It feels like a different life, a different world, a different me… I wonder how they are doing….

NO! I shouldn’t even be thinking about them. I just need to focus on my mission tonight, the end goal which is to lose my virginity to a man worthy

of it.

To Colton.

“Can’t you at least give me a clue about where we’re going?” I ask, as I stumble over a small fallen branch and Calton is quick to steady me. “Is it some top secret party out in the woods, or more like a makeout spot?”

I hope

it’s

the second one. Please please please be the second one.

*You mean, are we going to hang, or bang?” He asks with a wink, and I giggle, nodding,

“I guess it’s a bit of both,” he says cryptically, smiling at some private joke without ever slowing down his pace. “There will be hanging, and there will be banging.”

I guess it’s an exclusive secret party for post–grads or something, and after we hang out for a while, Colton and I can sneak away and do the deed. Sounds exciting.

Finally, the forest opens up as we step into a moonlit clearing, Colton stops for a moment, looking around.

Should we keep going?” I ask eagerly. “The party must be close now, right?”

“oh,

we’re already arrived at the party,” he says.

“What?” I ask, staring at the empty clearing all around us. “Where is everybody?”

“My friends are already here, all around you,” he says, his eyes suddenly looking strangely empty, darker.

My blood runs cold in that moment, as I hear the unmistakable sound of footsteps behind me. I swing around and see the five guys from the party who were watching me by the pool, still wearing their black robes and white anguished Scream masks. They are surrounding me, stalking towards me through the night.

“L.. I don’t understand…” I say, searching Colton’s face. “Is this some sort of prank?” Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.

One of the Scream mask guys pulls a gleaming hunting knife from his robe, and I automatically step closer to Colton, laughing nervously.

The guys continue closing in on us, and something about their movement is so predatory, so intense… it’s not amusing any more.

“Tell them to stop,” I beg Colton, but he’s just smirking, ignoring me. “Hey, that’s enough! It’s not funny!” I continue, lightly punching Colton’s arm to get his attention.

He responds by punching me back.

Hard.

In the face.

There’s a gruesome crack of bone as his

“Don’t you f*cking touch me, whore,” he says, his voice growing cold.

1 stumble and fall Twigs and fallen leaves break beneath me as I tumble down onto the forest floor, hitting the ground hard.

The world is spinning for a moment, the silver moon whirling through the black sky overhead like a comet before my vision clears.

“Wh… why?” 1 ask Colton as he comes back into view looking down at me. I try to push myself up but he shoves me back down, causing me to hit the back of my head hard against the ground.

My vision goes black for a second, the searing pain ripping through my mind like shards of ice. I feel a weight against my chest, pinning me to the *forest floor. It feels like someone has their foot on my chest, holding me down.

When my vision clears, I open my eyes a crack, not all the way. I can see that Colton is still standing over me, and now he’s been joined by the five Scream killers. They are all around me, leaning over me, looking down at where I lle prone on the forest floor. I try to move but realise that Colton has me pinned down so hard I can barely lift myself up.

So I keep my eyes closed, pretending to be unconscious after hitting my head.

“Is she breathing?” One of the guys asks. “She’s breathing right?”

“Yeah dude, obviously,” another voice responds. “Look at how she’s twitching and shit. She’s just passed out.”

“Thank f*ck, I seriously thought she was dead for a sec back there,” one of the guys says.

“What difference would it make?” Colton asks, his expression bored and nonchalant. “She’s going to die tonight anyway.”

“Yeah,

LATER,” “one of the other guys says. “She can die LATER, after we’ve had our fun. I’m not f*cking a corpse, Colton.”

Speak for yourself,” * Colton says. “I’ll take my turn after we snap her neck, before we string her up in the tree.”

“You’re taking a turn? I thought you were gay, bro,” one of the Scream mask guys says, angling his mask in Colton’s direction. “You turning straight or something?”

“No, douchebag. I’m still gay.” Colton says boredly. “But once she’s dead, she’s not a girl anymore. She’s just a thing, and a hole’s a hole. I need to gel my rocks off, just like you. Unless one of you guys wants to give me a hand instead? Jonah?”

“F*ck off, faggot, barks one of Colton’s friends. I squint, cracking my eyelids slightly to catch a glimpse. He peels off his mask, prompting his companions to do the same.

My heart seizes as I recognize them.
