Chapter 46
Chapter 46 Sea Of Roses
"What did you say, Nathan?" Sophia looked at him in disbelief. "I'm the mother of your child! How could you say that about me?"
Nathan grabbed his phone and was about to leave. "I have nothing to say to you right now."
"Wait-" Sophia grabbed him, preventing him from leaving. "Nathan, I've done so much for you. I've been your mistress for three years, and you treat me like this?"
Sophia held onto him tightly. Nathan wanted to shake her off, but considering she was pregnant, he could only let her pull him along.
He said, "Sophia, neither of us is calm right now. Let's talk when we get back."
"No!" Sophia dragged him into the bedroom. "Let's talk about this now!"
"Sophia, let go!"
Sophia pushed Nathan onto the bed and then leaned in to kiss his lips. "Nathan, is it because I'm pregnant and we can't have sex that you went to find the car model? The doctor said I've passed the three-month danger period, so we can make love..." Nathan turned his head away to avoid her kiss. "Get up, don't hurt the baby."
"It won't hurt the baby, I'll be careful. I'm your woman, I'm Mrs. Reed, I can help you..."
As she spoke, Sophia's hands were already trying to unbutton his shirt.
Sophia seemed to have deliberately dressed up today, her makeup was impeccable, and it seemed she had changed her foundation, as no matter how she rubbed, it didn't smudge.
But facing her, Nathan really felt no desire.
He pushed Sophia aside and buttoned up his shirt. "It's not what you think. I haven't had any contact with any woman. Your job is to have the baby."All rights © NôvelDrama.Org.
"And what after the baby is born? Will you marry me?"
Nathan stood up, took a deep breath, and decided to be completely honest with her. "Sophia, I'm not getting a divorce."
Sophia was shocked. "...What?"
"I said, I'm not planning to divorce Emily," Nathan's voice was firm. "I'm going to reconcile with Emily. As for the child, don't worry, Emily is a kind person. After you give birth, I will take good care of this child with her."
Sophia sat down in disbelief. "What do you mean? You're reconciling with Emily! Nathan, what do you take me for, a surrogate mother?!"
"You don't have to put it so harshly. I'll help you keep your position in the company, and I'll double your salary. Consider it compensation."
"I don't want your damn compensation!" Sophia grabbed Nathan's hand, pleading, "Nathan, do you hate me? I fought with you because I love you. I won't do it again, I'll change, I won't touch your phone again, please don't be angry? You really scared me..." Nathan interrupted her directly, "I'm not just saying this out of anger, I'm serious. Since Emily left, I realized that I really like her. I'll talk to her and convince her to come back."
"What about me?" Sophia pointed to her heart, "I've done so much for you, and now you say you like Emily?"
"You were too forward at that time, I was momentarily confused..."
Knock, knock, knock-
The bedroom door was knocked.
Carol's voice sounded impatient, "Are you two arguing again?"
Upon hearing this, Nathan broke free from Sophia's grip and went to open the door.
"Mom."
Carol's face was full of disdain, "What's wrong with Sophia? She's making a mess of things at home, and she's always arguing with you. What does she want?" Nathan said helplessly, "She's pregnant, her hormone levels are different from usual, and she's irritable. It's normal."
Carol followed him downstairs,
sitting on the sofa in the living room,
"When Emily was here, when did I ever have to worry about household chores? She handled them well, didn't she? I was quite satisfied with Emily. If only she could have given usa heir to the Reed family."
"Mom," Sophia came out of the bedroom, supporting her stomach. "Since you like Emily so much, why did you kick her out of the house back then?" Nathan frowned, "Sophia, shut up!"
"Isn't it because she couldn't bear children?" Carol rolled her eyes. "She couldn't bear children, so you had a chance, didn't you?"
"Mom, don't say that..."
Sophia was angry, but she didn't dare to confront Carol directly in front of Nathan. She stormed out of the house.
Carol patted Nathan's shoulder, "Go check on her. If something happens to her, it's not important, but the child must be safe!" Nathan nodded, "Mom, you should rest first. I'll go out for a moment."
"Hurry up."
Sophia ran out of the door alone, running down the path outside the Reed mansion, while calling her mother, Nora.
It was still late at night on Nora's side, and she sounded a bit sleepy as she answered, "What's wrong?"
"Mom! When are you going to come back! I'm being bullied to death by Nathan and Emily!"
Nora glanced at the calendar and comforted her daughter, "Just one more week. Hold on a little longer. When +come back, I'll make sure that Emily, that little bitch, gets what she deserves."
While chaos reigned in the Reed household, Room 2307 at the Hilton Hotel was filled with warmth.
Emily had cooked lunch at home,
then ridden in Olivia's car to deliver
food to her father. When she
in
returned, she was almost shocked
by the scene inside the house.
Roses covered the floor.
They were on the ground, on the bed, on the cabinets, and a fragrance lingered in the air.
As the sky was getting dark, she thought about turning on the lights to see more clearly, but a large hand quickly pulled her inside.
Emily stumbled into a broad chest.
"Mr. Satan, you... came back so early today?"
Mr. Satan brushed her nose gently, "Have you forgotten what day it is today?"
Today?
Emily suddenly bit her lip, looking at him in disbelief.
Today, May 20th, her 26th birthday.
She had forgotten her own birthday, and Mr. Satan had given her a whole sea of roses.
