Corley’s expression darkened drastically, as if the news had hit him like a punch to the gut. Sending her a McLaren, especially at twice the cost, was a massive loss. Although the dealership was profitable, such a financial blow would take a long time to recover from.

He didn’t dare refuse outright and could only reply reluctantly, “Miss Evans, a McLaren is expensive, and importing it is no simple task. Could you perhaps consider an alternative?”

“Alternative request?” Khloe’s gaze became icy. “What’s this? You promised to satisfy me, and now you’re trying to wriggle out of your responsibility? It seems you’re not sincere. If that’s the case, I’ll take this up with someone higher up.”

Without missing a beat, Rhett pulled out his phone. “I’ll call their boss. I refuse to believe that someone injuring people from Evergreen Capital, which is owned by me, can be spared easily.”

The mention of Evergreen Capital drained the color from Corley’s face, and sweat began to bead on his forehead. This charming young man was actually the head of Evergreen Capital.

Evergreen Capital held a powerful position in the industry, and even the boss of their dealership had to maintain a good relationship with them. As the general manager, Corley couldn’t afford to anger Evergreen Capital.

He quickly stepped forward to stop Rhett and Khloe, his face contorting into a strained smile, his voice betraying a hint of nervousness. “Sir, please, don’t make that call just yet. Let’s talk this through. I was simply sharing my concerns, not trying to avoid my responsibility. I promise I’ll do everything I can to meet both your expectations.”

After a pause, Corley clenched his teeth and added, “Fine, I’ll do as you wish! Take this McLaren for now, and I’ll have the other one ready for you within a month.”

Seeing that he had given in, Khloe decided to ease up and nodded.

Corley quickly motioned for someone to have Selena swipe the card for the car, desperate to get rid of Khloe. Today’s events had been a complete humiliation for him.

Selena, once full of arrogance, now swiped the card without any protests. She was genuinely terrified by Khloe’s action of cutting Jack’s tongue. What kind of criminal was she up against? It was downright terrifying.

With the bet settled, Khloe didn’t linger. After checking that Tess was rattled but unharmed, Khloe drove her new car back to the Henrik family’s estate. As soon as Khloe reached the front gate, she saw Henrik waiting for her, dressed in a white casual outfit, looking effortlessly handsome and calm.

Her heart skipped a beat at the sight of him. Stepping out of the car, she playfully lifted Henrik’s chin with a finger, then pointed to the McLaren parked behind her. “Do you like it? It’s a gift I won just for you.”

Henrik hesitated for a moment before a subtle smile curled on his lips. He let go of Khloe’s hand and said, “I like it. Let me handle that jerk who dared to hurt you, alright?”

He looked at Khloe with sincerity, mindful that she had just seen his violent side the previous day. He didn’t want to push her if she wasn’t comfortable, especially over something so trivial.

Khloe sighed to herself. She had cut off Jack’s tongue, partly to keep Henrik from stepping in. It wasn’t out of concern for Jack, but more to avoid triggering Henrik’s violent side, which could easily ruin his mood.

Yet, Henrik had found out anyway. Khloe shook her head, saying, “I’ve already set him straight. Let’s leave it at that for now. Things won’t be easy for him from here on out.”

Henrik gave a nod. “As you wish.” He then guided her toward the McLaren for inspection.

Henrik’s eyes drifted over the sleek frame of the McLaren, his fingers lightly brushing along its curves, his expression filled with awe.

While he valued everything Khloe gave him, this McLaren stood out as something he particularly liked.
