Please Give Me Another Chance Mrs Hamilton

Chapter 865

Nadine believed Brad must have been disgusted by the fact that she treated him

as a substitute, which was why he kept badgering her.

If an apology could buy her some peace and quiet, she was willing to offer it. She

just wanted him to stay the hell away from her.

After all, she wasn't an important person, and apologizing for something like this

didn't mean she was entirely in the wrong. So, she apologized to Brad, "I'm

genuinely sorry for treating you as a substitute, Mr. Hamilton. I promise it will

never happen again."

As soon as her words sank in, Brad stood in stunned silence, staring at Nadine,

whose expression was completely sincere. For a moment, he thought he might

have misheard.

But no, she was genuinely apologizing. Her tone was earnest, her expression

sincere. There wasn't a hint of pretense in her words, and her dark almond-

shaped eyes glimmered under the streetlights.

After hearing that, he felt an inexplicable sense of joy. If she had said just a bit

more, he might have told her that there was no need to apologize since the

substitute issue was all in the past there was no point in rehashing it.

Consequently, he responded merrily, "There better not be a next time!"

That was all he wanted—a simple apology. He hadn't expected it to come so

easily, and for a brief moment, he started to doubt his own ears.

As he mulled over the odd simplicity of it all, Nadine added, "I've apologized, Mr.

Hamilton. So, could you please stay away from Sean and me now? Since you've

gotten what you wanted, there's no need to keep harassing us, right?

"When we divorced, we agreed to go our separate ways and not interfere with

each other. Surely you haven't forgotten about that, Mr. Hamilton? It's fine if you

have—I can remind you a few more times to help jog your memory."

If apologizing meant she could finally rid herself of Brad, she was more than

willing to do it a hundred times. After all, for someone like her, an apology wasn't

worth much. Ultimately, all she wanted was a peaceful life.

Her apology had pleased him, but her next words were like a dagger, plunging

deep into the most tender parts of his heart. Without even trying, her words tore

into him, leaving his chest raw and bleeding.

Brad's expression, which had beennoveldrama

somewhat pleasant, suddenly

contorted with anger. He stormed

up to Nadine, grabbing her

shoulders and shaking her violently.

"What did you say? Say it again!

Nadine Scott, I'm giving you a

chance to repeat what you just said!"

How could such a heartless woman exist? The first half of her words made him

feel as if he was on top of the world, whilst the other half sent him crashing to hell.

He hadn't even had a moment to

savor the sweetness of her apology

before her sharp words stabbed him

in the chest. The pain caused him to

snarl and glare. He felt like a

vengeful spirit returning from hell as

he gripped her shoulders and shook

her violently.

Nadine was shaken so hard she felt her vision blur, her head spinning. At one

point, she genuinely thought she was going to throw up—or worse, get a

concussion.

When the dizziness became too

much, she finally snapped. With all

the strength she could muster, she

shoved Brad away. Caught off

guard he was pushed back a step,

frozen in place as he gazed at the

woman, whose eyes were now red

with rage.

After breaking free from his grasp, Nadine yelled at him, "I was wrong to treat you

as a substitute in the beginning. But eventually, I could clearly tell you and Jack

apart. I never confused the two of you again!

"I never said a word when you were with Jean. It was your infidelity during our

marriage that made me decide to get a divorce! These are two completely

different things—can you not mix them up?

"Tell me. If I had been the one to cheat during our marriage, if I had been caught

being all affectionate with Jack—hugging and kissing him in front of your eyes—

could you have accepted it?

"Brad Hamilton, I divorced you because I'd reached the end of my rope with you.

It had nothing to do with Jack! How do you still not understand that by now?"
