Psycho Boss And His Sassy Secretary

Chapter 37

Her eyes slowly widen in shock as she stares back at him, wondering what he’s talking about. Trying to recall what happened the previous night, she shuts her eyes tightly and holds her head when she feels so blank upstairs.

“Just stop trying, girl. I’m just kidding. Nothing happened, OK?” He quickly says to her. Of course, he wouldn’t want her to start thinking that he’s some pervert that took advantage of her, just because she was drunk. That’s the last thing she would ever do to anyone, and not even to his secretary. She’s too special to him for him to bring himself to do that to her.Text © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

Releasing a sigh of relief, she falls back to the bed and stares up at the ceiling as tears brim in her eyes. Recalling everything that happened between Raymond and Skylar, she can only blame herself for being a fool all along. It doesn’t hurt that he cheated on her, and neither is she sad because it had to be with her cousin, but she’s sad that she never noticed that this dude has been playing her.

If she was not too much clueless, she would’ve noticed something the day she went to the mall to pick Skylar up. She never introduced the two to each other, yet she didn’t think anything when she went there and saw them together.

“You fucking trust him so much. Look where it ended you,” Her subconscious mind screams at her, and she slowly clenches her fists as her tears finally stream down the corner of her eyes. She hates that she’s like this, she hates the fact that she can’t act strong, and he doesn’t worth her tears, but she can’t also help it. She fucking loved him with everything in her, but he chose to betray her instead.

He bites his bottom lip as he stares at her with pain written all over him. For some reason, he can’t help the sadness that fills his heart, the guilt that spurs through him, although he knows he didn’t do anything to her to make him feel guilty, but he’s still feeling it. He should’ve kept her by his side, maybe this would’ve been avoided if he had not allowed her to go home that day.

“I’ll make breakfast,” He says in a low tone, and without waiting to hear her reply, he turns and pulls the door open, striding out of the room afterward.

“It hurts… I don’t want to be like this, but it fucking hurts…” She whispers as she sits up on the bed, burying her face in her palms and crying her eyes out.

“Don’t cry, Eve. Everything will be fine. You’ll be just fine. They don’t worth your tears. You should stop being a p***y,” She mutters to herself, but she ends up bursting into another round of tears. How could the man she loved so much with everything in her, do this to her? How could he have cheated on her? Is there anything she’s not doing right? This man never had time for her, and she was never angry because she tried to understand the nature of his job.

“What if all those time, he was with your cousin?” Her subconscious mind asks her, and she gulps down nothing, not wanting to believe it, even with the glaring truth. Of course, he must’ve been with her all those time.

Reaching out swiftly for her phone laying on the bedside table, she picks it up and stares at the screen which has so many missed calls from Raymond, Skylar, and her mom, and she rolls her teary eyes.

She wanted to call Skylar, but on second thought, she tosses her phone on the bed and runs her fingers through her hair. What the fuck is she calling her for? What is she going to say to her? Insult her over the phone, when it’s obvious that her fucking boyfriend chose that bitch over her? That’s crazy.

The door suddenly opens, and Jayden walks in with a tray of food in his hands. He stops on his track when he sees her in that position.

Walking over to the center table, he drops the tray on it, standing to his feet afterward.

“Uhm… Eve… I brought you breakfast. Do you need me to do anything else for you? Uhm… I’ll go into the bathroom to prepare your bath water,” He says, turning to go to the bathroom.

“I’m not hungry. I’ll be on my way home now,” She says as she suddenly stands up from the bed, grabs her car keys from the bedside table, and heads straight for the door, not minding that she’s still wearing Jayden’s shirt which barely covers her butt. Besides, she’s not going anywhere else but her house, so it’s totally fine.

“Eve, you have to eat. You can’t go home yet,” He pulls her back gently, but she yanks his hand off her, and storms out of his room wordlessly.

“Where is that bitch!” Evelyn yells at the top of her voice as she hops out of her car as soon as she parks her car roughly at the garage.

She marches angrily toward the entrance door and barges into the living room.

“Skylar! Fucking come down here this moment!” She yells for the second time, as she wipes the trail of tears from her eyes.

“Where the hell is that bitch?” She roars again, and the shaky footsteps descending the staircase pull her attention. Staring at Skylar with resentment, she slowly clenches her fists beside her and grits her teeth.

“What are you still doing here?” She snaps at Skylar as soon as she gets to where Eve is standing.

“Eve, I’m so sorry about everything…” A hot slap lands on Skylar’s cheek before she can finish her statement.

“That is for thinking you could fool me…” She stops and bites her bottom lip. She was indeed fooled bruv!

“I didn’t mean to hurt you, Eve. Please listen to me,” Skylar burst into tears, going on her knees.

“I’m not here to listen to your pathetic cries. Get the hell out of my father’s house, and fucking go to Raymond. Go and stay with that bastard, and fuck around with him, all you want,” She yells, pointing toward the door while glaring hard at her.

“I don’t have anywhere to go, Eve. Please don’t do this,” Skylar says in tears, with guilt written all over her, but the fuck! Eve doesn’t give a damn about her tears.

“You should’ve thought of that when you decided to fuck around with my boyfriend of all people…”

“I didn’t know he was your boyfriend when we started this shit…”

“And what about when you fucking knew about it? You still continued this shit, didn’t you? Why the fuck are you trying to play the victim card here, when you’re the fucking bitchy slut here?” She snaps at her, and she gulps down nothing nervously.

“Eve…”

“I’m going into my room, and by the time I’m done there, I don’t want to come here and meet you in this house. You’re going to have your pathetic life to blame if I do anything nasty to you,” She says sternly before she walks away angrily, pushing her out of the way, as she heads to the staircase…
