Chapter 648
Benjamin, though boiling with anger, had to stop his antics. Cameron, on the other hand, was a lot more cunning and insincere. He put on a gentle facade and said to Nathalie, "Nathalie, Benjamin was just speaking out of impatience. Nathan was his brother after all, and it would make sense for you to let him pay his respects."
Nathalie knew these two wouldn't give up until they got what they wanted. To ease their suspicions, she reluctantly said, "Come on in." She turned and headed into the house.
Benjamin looked at Cameron, bewildered, "Why'd she suddenly agree?"
Cameron was just as puzzled but mused, "Even if she won't admit it, she must see the reality: with Nathan gone, she can't afford to upset us."
Benjamin felt smug and overconfident, "I figured she'd have to cave eventually."
Little did they know, Nathalie, overhearing their whispers, was filled with a fierce, simmering rage.
The thought of Greta teaming up with Cameron and Benjamin to betray Nathan, causing his downfall, sent a fiery wave of hatred through her. She refused to let Nathan's death be brushed aside. Her once-calm heart was now overtaken by vengeance.
Nathalie walked into Nathan's room, where Lizzy had been keeping watch by his bedside, lighting candles and incense in his memory.
When Cameron and Benjamin came in, Nathalie tossed a cushion on the floor in front of them, "If you're here to see him, then kneel and bow three times!"
Benjamin thought it was ridiculous, “He's just a memory, and you want me to bow? Kneel?"
Nathalie fixed him with a sharp gaze, "Say another word, and I won't be so polite."
Benjamin laughed arrogantly, "Nathalie, what could you possibly do to me? I'm almost curious to find out."
Nathalie turned to Lizzy, "Shut the door."
Lizzy nodded, "Alright."
Nathalie whistled, and a massive mastiff suddenly bounded into the room.
Benjamin, terrified, jumped onto Cameron, "Nathalie, you can't do this to us. If your mastiff bites us, you'll face legal trouble."
Nathalie looked at him icily, "If taking down two spoiled heirs costs me my life, it's worth it."
Benjamin stared at her, finally realizing the foolishness of his actions when he saw her face, stripped of any hope.
"I was wrong, Nathalie. Forgive me."
"Then kneel. Apologize to Nathan," Nathalie demanded.
This time, without any hesitation, Benjamin knelt on the cushion and bowed to Nathan, "Nathan, rest in peace."
Nathalie's fierce gaze turned to Cameron, who, intimidated by the mastiff, reluctantly knelt.
Nathalie addressed Nathan, "Nathan, do you see this? Those who wronged you have knelt before you. Does this bring you any peace? If not, don't worry, I'll make sure they pay over time."
Cameron couldn't take it anymore and said, "Nathalie, is this really necessary? Fighting us over
Nathan-aren't you worried about putting Nina in a tough spot?"
Nathalie sneered, "Nina? From now on, her custody is yours."
Cameron's face went pale, "What do you mean? You're giving up on Nina too?"
Nathalie replied, "Yes, I am."
Cameron looked utterly dejected.
Unwilling to accept it, he tried to reason with her, "Nathalie, Nathanis gone. You need to live for the ones still here. Nina is your beloved daughter. Without her, how can you find any happiness?" noveldrama
