Reborn From Oblivion

Nathalie's eyes went wide with shock. "Divorced?"

Then she let out a not-so-kind chuckle. Because, really, who could resist the chance to kick someone when they're down?

"Greta, since you and Cameron split, there's no reason for you to keep squatting in someone else's house."

Greta shot her a look full of resentment. "We haven't even signed the papers yet!"

But Nathalie just gave a dismissive sneer. "Cameron already sees himself as a free man, so why are you still holding on? You won't be Mrs. Dawson much longer, so quit wasting my time. My time is precious."

With that, Nathalie and the real estate agent headed upstairs to check out the house.

When they got back to the living room, Greta was still there, stubbornly refusing to leave.

But Nathalie and the agent acted like she was invisible and got down to business. "What's the asking price for the house?" Nathalie asked.

"Ashley, this place is in a prime location, top school district, with great amenities. We can't go below market value."

Nathalie shot Dominick a knowing look and stepped back, letting him handle it. Dominick stepped up, all confidence, "Half price."

The agent's eyes nearly popped out. "How much?"

"Half price," Dominick said again, unfazed.

"Are you joking?" The agent chuckled, eyeing Dominick as if he'd just told a good joke.

"Houses in this area have never been discounted," the agent insisted.

Dominick glanced over at Nathalie, who stood there with her arms crossed, watching the scene unfold with a smirk.

Dominick had no choice but to push on. "Here's the deal, I know the owner. I'm familiar with all the stories tied to this place. This house has some serious bad vibes."

The agent's eyes were as wide as saucers.

Dominick kept the story rolling. "From what I know, both previous male owners got divorced, and after marrying their mistresses, their careers took a nosedive. Not to mention, the last female owner drowned herself, and the current one..."

Dominick sneaked a glance at Greta. "She's seriously ill, doesn't have much time left."

He said it just loud enough for Greta to catch every word.

Greta was seething, her anger boiling over, fists clenched, ready to throw a punch.

The agent sighed weakly. "No wonder the owner is desperate to sell. So, this is a haunted house?"

Dominick's expression turned dead serious. "That's why we're only offering fifty percent of the market price for this villa."

The agent sighed, clearly defeated. "I'll have to discuss this with the owner."

Nathalie smiled. "Fantastic. We'll wait for your update."noveldrama

Dominick had spun such a convincing tale that he almost started to believe it himself.

As they left the Dawson Estate,

Dominick tried to talk Nathalie out of it. "Boss, on second thought, this

house really isn't a good buy We

d walk away."

Nathalie replied, "Are you kidding? If we can snag this house at a bargain, we're golden."

"But those bad vibes?"

Nathalie laughed. "Who buys into

that nonsense? Cameron ended like this because he couldn't keep

Dominick snapped back to reality. "You're right."

Nathalie walked to her car but

set

suddenly turned back to gaze at the Dawson Estate, a hint of nostalgia in her eyes. "Cameron is bankrupt. Nina should come back to me now."

Dominick's expression turned complicated. "Boss, Nina is missing."

Nathalie was stunned. "What happened?"

Dominick explained, "She's young, maybe she didn't see things clearly. After all, Cameron's bankruptcy was her doing."

Nathalie sighed. "Let her be."
