Chapter 1322
Odie chimed in, "She's burning up with a fever. Can you get one of your doctors to check her out and maybe give her something to bring it down?" "A fever?" Rick raised an eyebrow, reaching to feel Sophie's forehead. "Wow, she's really hot. I'll call William over to give her something."
"No need for all that; I'll be fine after a nap," Sophie insisted.
Hearing this, Odie frowned, "So, without Colby around, you're acting up, huh?"
"I'm not..."
"Then call Colby, let him handle it."
With that, Odie started pulling out his phone.
Sophie quickly stopped him, saying, "No! I'll take the medicine."
Odie glanced at Sophie's hand, which halted his call. Clearly, Colby was the only one who could keep Sophie in check.
"Alright then, back to your room for the meds."Còntens bel0ngs to Nô(v)elDr/a/ma.Org
With a no-nonsense look, Odie headed downstairs. Sophie, keen to explore the third-floor attic soon, decided to cooperate and followed Odie back to her room. Meanwhile, William, looking a bit on edge, slipped out of Gordon's room and peeked at Rick, asking, "Did she see me?"
Rick, staying poker-faced, nudged William back in, "Get the fever reducer ready. Make sure she gets some extra rest."
"Don't worry! I know my way around a fever reducer!" William assured, brimming with confidence.
Rick glanced at Gordon, still out cold, and added, "Let's keep Mr. Gordon's illness on the down-low, especially from Ms. Sophie."
"I'm a doctor. Patient confidentiality
is my jam! Besides, it's the first time Mr. Gordon's asked me for something, so of course.

"Less chatter, more action, please?"
...Alright!"
William grabbed his medical bag and scurried off to Sophie's room.
With the second-floor drama handled, Rick made his way to the third floor. He opened the attic door to find it bustling with workers. The walls were half-painted, the other half charred and blackened
"Clean all this up, get the wallpaper up. Make it look like an old, forgotten storage room," Rick instructed.
"Don't worry, sir. We've got your instructions down. Give us three more hours, and it'll be all set."
Rick nodded, "If you need anything, just let me know, and I'll sort it out."
"Mr. Rick, you're too generous. Mr. Gordon has been great to us; this is the least we can do."
The room was stocked with gear to help clear the air quickly.
Rick then went downstairs and opened Jenna and Adler's room, finding them with Angelo and Sandy, all cooped up until he arrived.
As soon as Rick showed up, Sandy, looking a bit miffed, said, "What took you so long? Can we go out now?"
"You two can head out,” Rick said
with a polite smile. "But about the
attic fire fast night, the boss wants it
kept under wraps. If anyone spills
the beans, they'll have to face the music."
Rick's tone was calm, but his eyes carried a clear warning.
