Rush: Part One & Two: Part 2 – Chapter 41
I’m losing my fucking mind. Valentina has disappeared, no note, text, or anything letting me know where she has gone. I’ve tried calling her, but she’s not answering her phone. My copy of Die For Me is gone, and I wonder if there is anything I wrote inside that upset her, but nothing comes to mind.
“Jean!” I call out because worry has consumed every part of me. Thoughts of what could have happened to her take over, and I panic. “Jean!” I scream louder this time, and my brother appears in front of me downstairs, a confused look on his face.
“Why the hell are you screaming?” he complains, his French sloppier than usual. It irritates me, but I can’t focus on scolding him right now. He might know where Valentina is and whether or not I’ve done something to upset her.
“Did Val tell you where she was going?” I ask because now I’m convinced she’s angry with me for leaving her.
If Hector hadn’t acted like it was the end of the world that I didn’t go to one training session, I would have never left for so long.
“No but try calling Adrian or James. They might know.”
I dial James’ number first because I remember her saying something about texting him back yesterday. The phone rings a few times before he answers.
“I’m not in the bloody mood, Gabriel. Leave me alone,” he slurs into the phone, and I cock an eyebrow.
“Is Val with you?” I ask and hear him sniffle.RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only
“No, mate, and she probably never will be again.”
He hangs up before I can ask him what the hell that means.
My thumbs fly over my screen, searching for Adrian’s number. I hate being like this, but Val told me she’d be here after I’m done. The fact that she didn’t tell me she left bothers me. Something’s wrong, and I need to make sure she’s somewhere safe.
My heart is racing while I wait for Adrian to respond, but he doesn’t. I’m about to have a panic attack when my screen lights up from an incoming text message.
