Kellan picked up on her tone immediately. “Allison, is it hard for you to speak openly there?”

“That’s right,” she replied smoothly. “I just got to the new residence, and the view here is absolutely stunning.”

“Are there a lot of cameras around?” he asked directly.

“It’s just me here,” she said, her tone light. “But yes, there is a camera, so it’s very secure. I’m planning to head out for groceries soon.”

She glanced briefly at the blinking camera. “And there also seem to be security guards in the neighborhood. I noticed them from the car earlier.”

“I understand,” Kellan replied, catching her meaning at once. He now understood that there was a camera around her and security personnel patrolling the neighborhood. However, Allison’s exact location remained unclear. He started analyzing the area around Verruckt’s property, using online maps to pinpoint likely security checkpoints.

“Shopping might be tricky for you,” he said. “Do you need me to send anything over?”

“No, that’s alright,” Allison replied. “Mr. Williamson offered too, but I turned him down. I’d rather go myself.”

“Head east,” Gordon replied, his fingers flying across the keyboard. “There’s a five-star place called Maple Tree Restaurant.”

Allison walked confidently, as if she had planned to visit the restaurant all along. When the sign came into view, Gordon’s voice cut in again. “Take the side street to the back entrance. Everything is set.”
