Chapter 404
Chapter 404:
Eileen countered, still perplexed, “But I’m already swamped with responsibilities at Freguson Group, and soon I’ll be taking on Warren Group too. How am I supposed to manage EB Group as well?”
“You only need to oversee operations; the team will handle the day-to-day. Plus, Raymond can assist you. If it becomes too much, we could even consider stepping away from Freguson and Warren Groups. Nothing is more crucial than your well-being, and ultimately, managing EB Group means keeping it in the family,” Bryan explained, his voice full of conviction as if he had considered all angles.
Despite his thorough planning, the truth remained that his injuries required a significant recovery period, during which EB Group would indeed need leadership. However, there was a vast difference between Eileen temporarily overseeing the company and permanently transferring ownership to her. Bryan seemed prepared to entrust everything to her for quite a long time.
“Let’s have our meal now, and then head to the hospital for your check-up. If we delay, we might not get back until late,” Eileen decided, putting the documents away and starting her meal.
Bryan, recognizing her need to process everything, acquiesced with a nod. “Alright.”
As Ruby gazed out the window, she noticed the shift in the weather from the earlier sunshine. “It looks like it’s going to get cold soon; we should pick up some more clothes for Gabriela. I can go with you to the mall near the hospital later.”
Considering Eileen and Bryan’s situation, it wasn’t wise to expose Gabriela in public too much.
“Okay,” Eileen agreed. “Let’s have Milford watch Gabriela while we’re out. We can make it a quick trip.” Eileen also needed this time to discuss privately with Bryan his recent decisions and their implications.

Meanwhile, Milford wasn’t expecting anyone else to visit while he was babysitting Gabriela. He was comfortably juggling his duties, holding Gabriela in one arm and her teething biscuit in the other, engaging her with gentle play.
When the doorbell rang, Milford, thinking perhaps Bryan or Eileen had returned for something forgotten, opened the door without hesitation.
To his surprise, it was Zola standing there, equally shocked to see him so comfortably handling the baby. Gabriela, oblivious to the tension, giggled and waved her little hands, babbling happily.
“What brings you here?” Milford’s tone was less than welcoming as he instinctively started to shut the door.noveldrama
Zola quickly blocked it, her voice firm. “I kept asking you to meet for dinner, but you never responded. I had no choice but to come.”
