Bruce didn't dare stick around any longer. "I'm gonna head upstairs and call Naomi, see when she's coming home." They'd all had enough fun for one day.

Henry looked up at his dad, confused about why he was being called out again.

Mia said, "Honey, just let it go. If you don't know for sure, you can pretend it never happened. It's easier on your mind."

Andre grumbled, "Alright, let's talk about you. I told you not to mess with The Silent Ring-so why did you? Is that Black Pass really worth it? I told you, I'd get it for you. If you really want in, I'll figure something out, okay?"

Mother and son cuddled for a good while.

At dinner that night, Andre sat quietly, only breaking his silence to feed Henry a bite or two. Mia said, "Honey, could you pass the sticky rice lotus root? I can't reach it."

Usually, Andre would always serve his wife and son first-it was just his thing.

But tonight, he hadn't done it at all.
